Aion- discuss

I chose not to go the leadership route this time around due to time, but that may change later. The Legion I'm in, Knights of the Divine Order, has been following Aion for quite some time now and the bulk of the officers are currently playing C-Aion in between betas. They are pretty organized and are a wealth of information so the outlook is promising. In regards to allied legions, we've established bridges with a couple who've gone rifting with us. KDO is made up of a friendly / competitive bunch and they seem to get along with all Elyos legions, well except one legion who camped the Colosseum and kept ganking anyone who zoned in. They even had the nerve to stand outside of the Colosseum and shouted that they owned said Colosseum. We had to put a stop to that shit, so a bunch of us did a coordinated zone in and destroyed them even though they outnumbered us. Anyways, what do you mean about ranger bashing? We love our rangers and hate the asmo ones period. Assholes always come after me for some reason and they run if I'm not bound anymore..grrrr. I'm organizing a farming party for this beta and if KDO involvement is lacking, you're more than welcome to join up Ana. There's a sexy bow (BLUE) I know you'd like to get your mitts on ;) .

Hah. I kind of envy you for not having to lead in Aion. I was volunteered by past members to take the lead this time around :\ The organization and such required to compete in this game will be challenging and fun, but man it's going to require a lot of time and effort to oversee. Hopefully the game delivers and the experience is as rewarding as I hope it is.

This beta we'll be focussing on the PvP stuff more than the farming. As long as we know where the good gear comes from for launch, it isn't a big deal to dedicate the hours to farming it in beta since we'll just get wiped anyways. As long as I'm geared enough to be competitive and learn my class in beta I'm good.

Our legion is bringing in some more people who missed out on the other betas as well, so we'll have our hands full with exposing them to the game and helping them decide what classes to play. We're going to go ahead and switch our legion name from <BoW> to <Undercon> too, which will be a huge PITA getting everyone swapped over.

I'd like to level my crafting up a bit more too if I can find the time, but chances are I will miss Saturday night due to RL stuff so we'll see. I anticipate a day of leveling to 25, then some experimentation with macros/chat channels (can we create custom chat channels in game?) followed by all out organized warfare in the Abyss until the servers drop again. Should be good times.

And the ranger bashing was a joke. Anyone who has ever played MMOs with rangers knows what kind of abuse we take for picking the ranger class =p

So I'm curious as to what kind of teams people are assembling for this game (and also bored enough to strike up a discussion).

How many leaders/officers does QCDN have running teams in Aion? How many members do you anticipate having for launch? Do you guys have allied legions you're working with already? Do you have anti ranger-bashing rules in place already?

Discuss.

Currently I am starting up the Asmodian legion, Einherjar. (name is subject to change at launch!) Currently I am starting up the Asmodian legion, Einherjar, and looks like we will have between 15-20 members at launch. Half of our established members are from my WAR guild I joined earlier in the year when I used to play often. Our guild was the top Order guild for our server in terms of renown and rank before we had to transfer just recently. I imagine we will run similar to what we did in WAR: organized instance runs, hitting up PvP regularly, creating our own tactics, and static groups for material farming and exp. In other words, we plan to hit up end game but not religiously like we have in previous games. That means no more internet dragons and or castles at 3 am.

The other half of our crew comes from QCDN and other people I have played with in FFXI in the past! So far I think we have a well rounded group of individuals with a good variation of jobs to get us started. While playing in beta together, we are already learning how to work well with each other in game and have really been able to synergize with one another.

You don't mean Einherjar from Warhammer's Volkmar server do you?

negative.

I was in The Forsaken Brotherhood on Monolith which is now named War Monkies due to the transfer to Volkmar.

Playing with a few people from FFXI that went to WoW that are now bored again. Probably going to run around and gank everyone in sight, yippee.

Anyone need a preorder beta access code? I put in my preorder today, and the GameStop guy gave me two by accident. Didn't even realize it was two until I got home.

Nice :D What server/faction you guys rolling on?

I was going to roll Elyos this weekend too I think. I want to try out a different class and don't want to get burned out with repeated Asmo quests before launch! :)

I'll be rolling Asmo SM methinks.

I have tomorrow off and am feeling particularly lazy, any ideas when the servers will be up?

Right before I go in to work. Not going to get much play time in this whole weekend actually. 4-9:30 tomorrow, 11-9 Saturday, 9-5 Sunday. :(
