Concerning the figuring out of formulas and damage modifiers in MMOs: It's fun for some in the same way that hack-and-slash tactics is fun for others. The failure comes in when the bean-counters of the MMO world force the ideal that this-is-how-you-should-play-the-game-because-i-said-so down the throats of every person they come across. That's what removes fun from the equation for everyone.

I'm not accusing anyone here of doing that, I'm just saying "don't be that guy" lol.

Also, you people should be in finance if you love formulas and discovering ways of optimizing output with minimal input - put your mad skillz to use and recover the shitbox economy :D

I was well on my way to becoming a Sorcerer too, just prior to CB6's close.

I probably won't be playing Aion though, Stine and I are having too much fun rolling new characters on Guild Wars, and preparing for GW2 :D

If I reconsider I'll let you know though lol, I'd be more apt to play with friends than strangers.
 
Come launch time I'm gonna be an Asmo 100%, since I'm gonna be part of Reya's legion we haven't come to a decision yet on what server we'll be playing but I hope it's one with plenty of familiar faces.

As for the open beta though, I'm gonna play a smelly Elyos Templar and I'll be on Siel server.

been out of this thread for a while...but this is what me and Sem are doing too...I enroll into school tomorrow(?) so I'll know my timetable and if I'm able to join the legion FT or PT
 
Rolling an Elyos Ranger, Cleric, Gladiator and Spirit Master over the next beta to try out different jobs. Most likely going to roll on Siel to test em out. Nothing has turned my interest away from Templar yet :)

Well.... sorc was a lot of fun!

I'm on EU server :P Asmo-side on Ariel most likely.

I'll be playing with my cousin and rl friend ^^ It looks like you and me are the only ones on QCDN playing EU-side =/

I prefer programming xD That's all about formulas and functions :P Its like building your own 3D-puzzle and then put it together.
 
One thing I hope they have corrected by launch are the character voices. I mean, I picked the voice that was all cool and deep sounding on the creation screen and when you get in the game you have Bruce Lee's high pitched screaming voice. D: Not that it wasn't funny.. but it wasn't what I wanted it to be. lol
 
Ok even though I preordered at Gamestop, I went ahead about bought the CE version from Aion's website.

I assume since I got it and applied the serial code, i'll be in open beta? I didnt get a beta code or anything.

Also..for some reason, it won't start downloading the client lol.
 
If you preordered it from AION, the serial code gets applied automatically. It at least did for me. That serial code automatically gives you beta access.

Lol yea true =/ 21% downloaded atm, got my preorder box today where I work lol. When I get on il create my char on ur server. Open beta thing starts saturday I think, not sure.
 
wow..from Aion's site..it's taking F.O.R.E.V.E.R to download the client. Right now it's downloading at 67kbs. Been downloading for about 4 hours.. and only 2% complete lol

Think it would be quicker to download it from Fileplanet?
 
I found it changes on the time of day. I had it going at 187kb to as low as 40kb.
