anyway. so i was looking for one more member today to do leujaom sanctum assault... i shouted forever when i had 4/5 members, and wasn't having any luck... so i did what i do sometimes when looking for members for assault... i ask random people.. like if i need a healer, ill ask healers. same with DD... i'm the type of person who likes to get the ball rolling and not sit around is why i do this... anyway. so here's what happened basically... if people don't like that.. it's fine i understand... it's just what i do... but here's what hapened so take a peek.


honcho-- hi wanna do some assault?

akatora-- who are you?

honcho-- honcho....im asking people if they wanna join on assault^^

akatora-- what?! you did a seacom and are just asking random people to do assault?

honcho-- last time i checked, you get assault points too when you do it... and all you have do is say 'no thanks' and that's enough or just don't respond lol...

this was the jist of it... he had much more insults thrown in but i shortened this version up...lol the way i see it... if you don't wanna do something if someone asks you... you can either say no, or just don't respond... it's not like i was buggin his ass with tells constantly... and it wasn't like i was asking him to come do some random shit far away... i dunno. i mean it's a game people... if you have nerd rage... control it... remember... it's a game. if a nub like myself simply invites you to an event. please don't tell them to go away and kill themselves... luckily i'm a not easily influenced by immature ffxi"bullies"( who actually IRL are some serious wusses who would never act that way IRL duh.) so i think im here to stay til the good lord decides its my time! hopefully not for awhile! i gotta get all meh old gear and lvl 75s back when i was taru! :)


just a heads up from this guy. hopefullly he will see the error of his ways.

that sucks:P wish it was that easy too... if it gets bad and constant then i understand kinda getting pissed about it... this guy was a little over the top though after getting asked one time if he wanted assault:P

Akatora doesn't talk like that, so I doubt any of that is near true. And besides, if nobody responds to your shout, they obviously don't want to come. You ask random people to join completely random things and you shouldn't expect utmost politeness when/if they respond.

He was probably just fucking with you, not a big deal.
 
I was afk eating tacos when you tried to make me go with you. When I returned and saw your tell, 30 minutes old, in my log I felt bad. Knowing this happened as a result of my eating makes me feel better though:sm:

there is no excuse for rudeness from a simple request. if it rolls over into badgering then yeah maybe a little verbal "assault" is called for. maybe your friend was angry at something or someone, but either way i can safely guess it wasn't honcho. a little self discipline goes a long way you know.

some people actually filter shouts, not everyone, but some. A lot of people also plain don't bother reading shouts because they don't care to. I am the type that just doesn't bother reading them, but I have been known to filter them on occasion.

The case of "so and so doesn't talk like that", 99% of the time ends up that that person did in fact say those things and behave that way. Either that or it was the "that was my little bro/roommate playing my character" argument. Either way, neither of these arguments fly with us QCDNers and we don't typically care to hear comments like "Akatora doesn't talk like that, so I doubt any of that is near true."

Fact is, I was sitting in my mog house, and this guy sent me a tell, asking if I wanted to do assaults. I get annoyed when people do this shit, but I only started fucking with him because he didn't stop sending me tells, arguing that it wasn't. The OP is way biased, and that's not entirely the conversation that actually found place.

I told him that I thought what he was doing was rude, and that he should just keep shouting, yet he kept sending me tells. So I pushed a few buttons and had a little fun with him. He threw the usual 'omg geek its just a game dont h8', where he then next proceeds to post it on a FFXI board.

First, if you already get annoyed over people sending tells this would often make you say things you regret later. Plus your comment earlier

Makes me believe that you really are an asshole. You could have defended yourself without saying this, but instead you make a mockery out of a flame towards you. If you really didn't say what is being said show SS, at least Honcho stated how the convo went... all you said is that you mashed your dick on the keyboard and spewed out things you thought would fuck w/ him which is not right.
 
You know, I'm on bard about 95% of the time. Which means that even when I'm not seeking, I'm getting tells asking me to party. Like all the time. It's really just as simple as saying no. God forbid someone bug you for 2 seconds in a game where doing just about anything to progress requires the help of other players.

If someone doesn't stop sending you tells, that's something else. But if you're going to come at them with something smart-assed simply for asking a yes or no question right off, then don't expect that they aren't going to respond to it in kind.

I was in a party with this rdm who kept making cat faces and meowing the whole fucking time, I just knew she was 40 and obese.

Idk, after observing some posts, why the fuck does it seem like some messiah must have came on FF and said "attempting to be an asshole will get you a date with pixels." I see more and more 5inch thick glasses wearing, suspender sporting chess kings try to act so hard yet are the first ones to have Fan Fest. tickets. lol

Whether it's Titan, Garuda or Quetz I swear, it's so easy to make categories for people.
 
I guess we all have our own style. I really really hate when people ask me random crap like that when I have no flag, seacom or anything up. Instead of responding though, I simply just ignore.

If someone was interested in whatever you're shouting about, they'd respond to you. If they're filtering shouts or in MH, then they're not interested are they? If you want to push the boat out and ask random people, don't expect courtesy in response. And do not by any means persist to ask them if they say no, which seems to be the case here. And if you do, you had better be ready for a rather annoyed response.

It's just blowing shit out of proportion anyway. This isn't a useful warning to the board, it's just spam.

And Jyak... don't even make me bring up flames where you've been the target and responded with similar shit. Don't act like you're the golden-member when you're possibly the member with the very worst reputation here. And no, I don't mean reputation dots- I mean actual reputation.

I find this mean. Just like when I do an ENM on my whm or rdm and receive random tells from people asking me to party. If I don't flag, I don't want to party. People set HP in white gate to see the shouts, if they don't answer you that's because they don't care.

Also what kind of mission requires 6 people in Leujoam ? Probably one of the first that would give crap points.. and you do it with 6.

Hah qft, I can easily name 5 off the top of my head just on this server. Maybe not 40.. but 20. And another 5-10 who are male and pretend to be female. /sick.
