You might have been rude 3-4 tells in, but you could have prevented this entire thing by being nice from the get-go. It wasn't like he was asking you to do something you would absolutely benefit 0 from(IE Powerleveling). He asked you to do assaults(which he stated several times in this thread that you might benefit from as well)... Last I checked you were sitting in your moghouse, jacking off to your spinning moogle. I guess it shows where your priorities were that day.

You definitely weren't nice at all. You could have prevented this entire thing by being nice from the get-go

I know what you mean. But in all fairness, not everyone is a bandwagoner. For those that are, they don't do anything to really hide it. Its easy to recognize them and take whatever they say with a grain of salt.
 
Asking random people is sometimes a necessity to get things done in this game; from doing rank 5 mission, assault, or even if your just need a bard or red mage for your merit party and no one is seeking. Its a part of the game. Get over yourself.

Not interested you say? Your entitled to that too. A simple <No thanks> is easier then having to explain anything. They continue to bother you? /blist is your friend. No need to rant, rage or blow blood vessels. Really.

Get over myself? All I did was have a little fun with him, I wasn't the one who made this public. Just because my opinion on the subject is different than yours, doesn't make it wrong.

Again, no shit it wasn't the mature or 'correct' thing to do, of course I knew that when I did it. Good job stating the obvious.

This is just going to be repeatings of the same mindless crap, with people trying to tell me how I should or should not act, based on these 30 seconds of bad behavior, so I doubt I'll bother checking it again.
I'm a nice guy usually, and I usually just ignore people who do these things or something similar, but sometimes I provoke them to see how they react. Shoot me.

No 'usually nice guy' tells a random person to go kill themself. You have serious problems if you do that to people to 'have a little fun' all i can hope from this is that people dont even bother with u. I tried to talk to you in game and we kno what happened. And regardless what you think. I wasnt persistent with you and wa7 never rude..So whatever its done but just know you are wrong for what you did. Get annoyed when little things annoy you. But have some class... Sorry 4 wallotext. Dont wanna space all the way over 4 paragraphs!

If you play this game long enough there will come a time you will need to ask other ppl for help.

Several ppl have posted on what they do when asked for help and are not interested:
Ignore the tell
Blacklist the person

I honestly don't think telling the person to kill themselves was an option any of the ppl suggested.... Although, it did stop him from sending you tells, its probably not the most civil approach in a online game.

Honcho, call a GM on the person that told you to go kill yourself. I'm sure that violates some sort of PoL player harassment agreement.

After a 3 day LM-17 let's hear him come back spewing the same "It was a joke" "I was messing around" "I know it wasn't mature, so what" "Stop playing victim" "I'm the victim here" "Why are all of you against me?" garbage he has since the beginning.
 
damn keryan... thats sad man... ya know i was thinking of making a gm call the night the event happened.. i dunno... im pretty much past it now.. does he deserve a gm call? i think so.. will i do it..? prolly not... i dunno.. id rather go ahead and rid this guy from my life here and now... one day if he would like to apologize that may work out... im just glad people see how he 'can' act now... lol its funny i told some of my friends about what happened and the thread and they told me they knew akatora and diabblos and remembered them both being kind of arrogant and rude... dont really know diabblos but i guess it is what is is...

As someone who knows several close friends of this particular player that committed suicide, the reason had nothing to do with FFXI and I'd like to ask that a personal and touchy subject as this individual's death not be associated with threats of "Go Kill Yourself" not be brought up here because there is no correlation between his suicide and this game.

I did not say it was tied to the game. It was more to point out we can not know in game if our actions will push someone to the breaking point. in game Wong seemed very happy, I was in the same LS as him. The whole LS was shocked over it because he did not seem the type at all.

Someone can seem the most stable in game, yet not be. I did not mean to offend you or any of his RL friends/family who play the game. We all in this game would be horrified if Akatora or someone like him who thinks it funny to encourage a player to go die, then they do it because the last place they had became meaningless. I doubt this will mean much to Akatora or his friends, but it may change how some of the other players treat people in the game. I have already gotten a few tells in game about this post, so I am aware many of us still remember~

Aka is very helpful ingame but only if you have the curtosy of befreinding him first. He puts alot of time into helping his mates ingame. And is also a very good and knowledgable player.
Just like in real life you wouldn't walk up to a stranger and ask him to come help you unless it was some sort of emergancy.
ITS RUDE. So don't expect curtosy in return.
We've all been there when you have 5/6 members and need another. Christ iv'e waited hours sometimes. Other times i give up. But if i can't find enough by either
1. Shouting
2. Asking from my friends list (And this is only if i think they need said event themselves)
3. Asking linkshell
4. Search - Comment - battlefield/mission.
If that exhasts all your options either quit or carry on with 1-4. That's what they are there for. Don't be an ass and ask random people.

On topic: The guy snapped back at someone who simply sent him a /tell. It's not rude to walk up to some random person on the street and ask for help. They don't have to help you, and you shouldn't expect it, but you shouldn't expect a mouthfull of bullshit either.

Seriously, there is no excuse for bad behavior, no excuse for being a complete prick.

It's probably safe to say we've all been asked randomly for help in one way or another during our time in FFXI. How did you all react/respond? If it was anything like what Honcho is saying happened then you should be ashamed of yourself(ves) and maybe check your back end(s) for diaper rash as the cause.

Without SS's it hard to say what really did happen, but if your story is accurate Honcho I'm sorry you were witness to his/her temper tantrum as you didn't deserve it.
 
I'm rude when people ask me on Smn to exp(Without seeking)...mostly cause I expect it to be a sick joke of some kind.

it usually is, I.E when i asked you to join a meripo w/ the setup SAM SAM SAM SAM NIN And you as a main healer. I laughed, then you said "I hate you."

Massimo/akatora and Diabllos have never been the most kind people in game, they have always had a chip on their shoulder.... as someone said earlier. maybe times have changed, something I highly doubt.
