It's funny to think how long you took to type all that, when he's left the thread already.

I'm not even going to begin to explain why your comparisons like "asking a guy at a gas station for directions" are irrelevant, or how you've missed the point completely.

How about you ask these lovely people that "Give you directions", to come and do something for a hour or so with you. That will only benifit a hobby/passtime that you do.
Please, then tell me what they said.

Thats not even the same. First of all, it wouldn't take 1hr to do 1 simple assault. Its 30min maximum, and that specific assault doesn't even take nearly that long. Secondly, it wasn't only for Honcho...its been said like 10times. Akatora could have needed the win, and if he didn't he could have just gotten the Assault Points and random items that you get from assault; and if he didn't want that a simple no would have worked. I know im repeating what people said already, but really whats so hard with no? <.<

Most things in this game cannot be solo'd, and sometimes its impossible to find people. So you have to ask random people. If you guys know me, I have done alot of stuff in the game(100 Nyzul,Captain rank, Almost every quest done in the entire game,All missions done ect). I didn't get all that done by shouting or friends, I asked politely to random people if they needed it, and if they don't need it, if they willing to help and mention the benefits, if none i'll give my own gil. Even for merit PTs, you might need that one perfect job to make your set up strong, so you send random tells. It usually works for me, but I have got a few emotional people who can't help there self but bitch about a simple question. If someone says no I say kk or something and its done.

My point is you need to send random tells sometimes. No point in being rude to anyone for asking a question, and that includes ignoring. Just say NO.

Quote splicing agogo!

Word, and we aren't supposed to let Audino know they we actually get along with each other in secret! Whats QCDN without causing grief and turmoil to our lovely administrators and moderators?

She already responded, but I have to second that as far as I could tell she read it just fine... seams you might wanna check on your comprehension skills. But otherwise I agree they could both have Blisted each other, but they both are loving the attention here.

I ask random people for help RL and ingame. Why? because that's a part of this social mechanism called networking. I might not ask the guy in ratty bear-stained clothing walking down an alley, but I've asked strangers at gas stations to confirm directions for me.

When you go into a store and ask a clerk where to find something, its unlikely you were shouting, had friends to contact immediately available, I'm positive you weren't carrying a linkshell and if you sea search comments RL... hope there's a god who can help you. So all you had left is the clerk, who is likely a total stranger. Hell, i've even asked for help, and more often been asked for help walking through Wal-Marts by complete strangers who weren't employed there. Its hardly rude in the slightest, and calls for the same actions as noted multiple times. Help them in some way, tell them simply that you can't help them or ignore them. Though in a RL situation, you'd be the rude asshole for ignoring them. in FFXI I agree its an acceptable means of saying 'no', but don't expect it to hold if you zone =P

You come in twice in 6 months and this is the post and the response you want to give? <.< ok, you go have fun with that.

An abused response, perhaps. Any more or less true despite that or you feeling the need to point it out... no, not really. gogo PC+1

------------------------------------------------------------------
And the moment you all have likely not been waiting for, but are getting anyhow! all the the spliced comments for our silly little Massimo.
------------------------------------------------------------------

So right away you admit you're an asshole, and many have already noted that you were an asshole before most people who have found him annoying. On a personal note, I'd say you have Nerd Rage from all your posts, some of which will be relived shortly.

An accusation that lacks any facts to back it. Even if he did act a little sheepish, its all the more reason you could have just ignored or said 'no' to start. Afraid you put yourself into this position.

I'd suggest that you should have kept to that or left it at one post, to return to not posting and making yourself out to be a sort of sore loser for being tattled on.

As I'm about to show, you obviously can't take your own advise.

You may think you're an angel who could hardly be wrong, and that opinion is your right to have. But the rest of us, for the most part, still see you as the asshole, especially since you admit you were wrong (note the third bold portion). You both could have backed off, so I'm hardly saying he's innocent, but neither has he tried to claim that he didn't press his case during the incident.

For someone who doesn't care, doesn't read QCDN, you've made the biggest fuss over this. So yes, get over yourself. The only person here who's really tarnishing you, is you.

Point and case that many of us are making about you.

Leave and don't come back. I promise, you won't be missed or remembered once this flame sinks to the abyss of QCDN.

This was complete and utter pwnage Javir, congrats!

On-topic: I really dont have much else to say, since Javir covered a lot of it......but what kind of fucktard thinks its "cool" and "fun" to tell someone to go kill themselves? Seriously.........how about you go play in traffic during rush hour if thats the kind of "humor" you enjoy? Ive pted and done shit with Honcho a few times, and honestly hes one of the coolest peeps ive met in this game. Some of you who sided with Akatora/Massimo I consider to be cool and all, and I understand you have to come to the aid of your friend, but you only know this person as far as you can throw them.........so be a little more open minded to the fact that your "friend" may indeed be an asshole. Like it has been stated multiple times, a simple "Thanks for the offer, but Ill have to pass" would have sufficed. You dont like random tells, just ignore it dammit! A lot of us, myself included, have asked random people to pt or do some other event. Why? Because for all you know, even tho he/she aint seeking, he/she may have JUST logged in and be in the middle of typing a sea com or putting up his/her flag.

So Massimo, how about YOU get off your high horse and accept that fact that this is a social network of players and that every once in a while, we need to ask a random person for help. Thank you

It's happened to us all Arthur. We need an extra person, or extra people, and nobody is responding to shouts. You ask someone of the appropriate job in /tell who ARE NOT seeking what you are doing, and they say ok. Granted, people have declined, and you say ok, and move along.

The opposite has also happened, to me at least, where I've been sitting in my mog house, doing nothing, and someone sends me a /tell asking me if I want to do assault/party/whatever. Sometimes I don't feel like it. I'll say no. Sometimes I'll say ok, because, even though I wasn't seeking for said event, after being invited, I quite fancy it.

Yes, or no, neither answer is inpolite or rude. There's no need to be a prick about someone being a little pro-active. Some people seem to be failing to grasp this point.

I'm not even going to begin to explain why your comparisons like "asking a guy at a gas station for directions" are irrelevant, or how you've missed the point completely.

Took no time really, and I was bored, so eh.

Regardless, I'd like to have you explain. The issue is he was annoyed at getting a tell and he was a asshat and got burned for it. You were similarly compared and have lived up to it so far as I see. If you follow the entire discussion the post is quite sound.

The subsequent posts outside of the Original poster and Mr. Nerd Rage attention whoring were trying to throw out opinions on how this situation could be looked at. Those are the points I was working with. The point is, its not rude RL or in game to ask someone off-handedly for assistance. YOU might not like it, and that's fine. But when you act like an asshat expect repercussions. Its like what "Massimo" said, when dealing with strangers, 'expect them to react in any possible way'. Well obviously Massimo didn't again follow his own advice in being shocked by this outcome.

I tell ya, if you just use a little sense and reread this thread, you'll see I'm not as far off-base as you indicate.

thanks for sticking up for me guys. much appreciated and i'll remember your names.

i think we're all in pretty much aggreement and i'm glad most of the people whove posted feel the same way i do... the thread has been a success in my goal on shedding light on this guy... i wish it would have never come to this, but when dealing with a jackass you do what you gotta do... hopefully everyone whos seen the thread will take my advice and keep ypur distance from this guy.. my philosophy... it's easy to be nice or helpful to a friend... but when dealing with strangers, sometimes that shows true colors in kindness and politeness...

i think diabblos and massimo are just a little bit more immature which prompts them to either make a 'joke' about killing yourself, or acting like it's the rudest thing ever to ask someone if they wanna join an event...

all in all, the majority here has stated their opinion, much appreciated. and let's hope diab, massimo(akatora), and charlo can 'get off their high horse' like hexx said and change for the better.

and btw if shimei sees this.... come camp charbydis with me... i demand you come now!!!

Myself, I'd start off /sea ing and asking people I've done runs with before. Thus they know you, knw the run went smoothly, and are inclined to go again.

Also the "avoid people seeking" thing applies often, but then again, if you're doing all 3 30 cap ENMs in a row and splitting profit (if there is one), suddenly a quick 3K exp + possible big cash, suddenly those seekers will be inclined too.

Especially iff they've ben seeking for an hour and are getting really bored but have nothing else to do.

But all in all, planning runs a couple days ahead of time almost always trumps tossing runs together on the go.

Hope to get another pt with you sometime honcho, you seem to be a cool guy ^_^

I've never condoned what aka said to you.
Your opinions on how to recruit people ingame is different from mine.
The game has several functions that allow you to get people together for events. Asking people randomly, i think is rude. Thats just my opinion.
And it has only happened about 2 times in all my 3-4 years playing.
He choose to reply with telling you to go die. If that's his humour to mess with you, well yea it was a bit harsh. But i've heard worse and would of thought as you do, that it was assy. But i would of just left it there.
Would i have replied the same way he did. No.
I've known aka a while and he has always been freindly and helpful with people. It looks like he thinks the same way i do and choose to vent his frustration by messing with you.
If you choose to talk to me ingame thats not a prob. We just see the recruiting people, situation differently. But its no big deal.

Only if I get the drop! You have a lot of nerve asking me to come help you after what happened to me, because of you, in Valley of Sorrows. You left me out there to die, knowing damn well that I'm fragile!!!!!! Then you flaunt your drop (that you sold me out to get) in my face, and taunt me with how you went on to beat Maat, all the while I'm bleeding the ground red in Sorrows wishing that my "friend" would come to my aid.

I curse you with Chary. That's right, I CURSE YOU!!!! May you camp so long and wait so much that 4 years from now when someone else comes to camp they see a gigantic skeleton and wonder why the pelvis is solid!

Oh, let's not forget that yesterday when I saw a fresh fight starting in North Gustaberg I immediatley thought, "Honcho needs this so he can make some notes to get more involved in Campaign! I better let him know immediatley so I can show him how a Campaign Battle works!" What did you do, told me to go fuck myself, you're doing Besieged. Cute. My first thought was to assist you in something that could provide you a lot of fun and some good equipment, your first thought was of yourself, and the exp and IS from Besieged. Now you ask ME to come help YOU camp a giant squid so YOU can get a sword?!?!??! The nerve!

you son of a bitch i never said that /tell down there!... howd you do that anyway... but yea. i demand you come help me because you do what i say when i say it whore....

by the way, thats fine charlo. like i said, thats cool if you disagree with my technique on getting people.. which also by the way its my last choice to get people that way... but just know your friend has issues unless he apologizes or realizes hes wrong... if it was me wouldnt have those type of 'friends'

As friendly as you know him to be, he showed his TRUE colors with the way he responded. Theres a saying "Don't judge a person by how he treats his equals, but by how he treats his lessers and unknowns." Just cuz someone is cool, helpful, and friendly to his friends and such doesn't mean hes the equivalent of mother teresa. It was flat out wrong how Aka answered back to Honcho, pure and simple. Yes, you and the rest of your friends may dislike having a random tell sent to you, but I for one (and Im sure others will agree) have done awesome events, exp pts, or other random shit by just getting a random invite. If you dislike it, put up a sea com saying so, or just ignore the person. No matter how you paint it, there is NO justification for what Aka did. Ill remember this the next time I see him, or some of you, shouting and shit for help for some random event, and trust me, Ill make sure to remind you of this flame when the time comes :nono:

News flash: no one cares what you think. Also, please learn to type. Thanks.

Curjos why not get off Urat's cock... I mean jeez stalking him all the way to Wiki and Allah, changing what he writes there? I think you need a bit of a reality check

The thread was dead 3 pages ago, and Massimo already left it. Here's some final notes of interest though:
Seriously.........how about you go play in traffic during rush hour if thats the kind of "humor" you enjoy?
So many dumb fucks in this game just need to be gutted, put out of the misery that they call their "lives", and left on the sidewalk.
2 browny points to the first person to notice the massive irony in these two posts. Obviously, someone who says something as horrendous as "Go die" should, in justice, apparently die. Okay.

Also, here's a counter-essay for your essay Javir:
The issue is he was annoyed at getting a tell and he was a asshat and got burned for it. You were similarly compared and have lived up to it so far as I see. If you follow the entire discussion the post is quite sound.
He acted like an ass, he admitted that in page 2 I think. It's not big deal, and it's been blown way out of proportion. People act as if he honestly wanted Honcho to go out, find a knife and kill himself. Obviously he's not serious, and if anyone believes otherwise then they're seriously mistaken.

The "issue" is that Honcho took it much too personally, and posts here in search of attention and sympathy. Lots of you have given him exactly that, well done you. If he had just ignored the remark and moved onto the next guy in his search list, it would've made no difference. Instead, he chooses to broadcast it in hope of some attention. Yet you claim that the guy it's aimed at, is the attention whore...

It's not quite what he said, is it? His point was don't expect courtesy from a random call for help, for personal gain in a game. This isn't RL. The people may be real, but "asking for directions" can't be compared to asking random people who clearly ignored your former shouts if they want to spend ~30 minutes helping you get your in game pixelated item. And for the record, Massimo doesn't seem at all "shocked" in this thread, rather just disappointed. For what should've been disregarded got turned into a 15 page rant, giving Honcho more attention than he deserves.

Seriously? Can nobody else see through this act he's putting on? It makes me sick. Playing the 'wounded little Timmy' act to try and get sympathy. How sad. (The bolded part just made me laugh by the way.)

Clearly, we're the immature ones. We're not the ones crying for attention, putting on ridiculous acts and taking things too seriously. It's like in pre-school where a kid call each other names and take it literally...

Clearly, comparing Mossimo's response with preschoolers calling each other names would make the impression that Mossimo is as mature as a preschooler.

Yep, I see the above as "Mossimo has the maturity of a preschooler."

wow... i thought you claimed the thread to be dead yet you're still going..... lol..

i'm starting to think you may be just as much a douche bag as massimo... and i'm sorry but you may be one of the dumbest people i've seen post...

"the issue is that honcho took it much too personally and comes here seeking attention and sympathy" - wow, you truly are an idiot if you think this.... how many times do i have to tell you WHY i posted this thread?? how many times? this thread was made because masimo was a complete jerk. AND EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE... but who the fuck are you to tell me that i took it too personally?? seriously... WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU? you dont tell someone to go die... then when they get mad, "DUDE DONT TAKE IT SO PERSONALLY"
i don't give a damn if he was serious or 'joking', you have absolutely no right to tell me i took it to personally. this is a serious matter dumbshit. this isnt ... 'ahh you wont go with assault with me now im sad;( hay everyone he sucks!' im serious, i cant get over what an idiot you are... ive repeated in this thread over and over why i came here.. i came here to shed light on massimo, and i did that... not for attention... you're an idiot.. if i want attention i'll go bug my wife or my dog... no offense to any qcdn'ers, but i would have been just fine if no one evern responded tho the thread! 0 replies would have been just fine. as long as it had views , that's all i cared about... seriously diab.. just leave while you're way behind with mass....

ok.... here's the ironic part of your post... and the real 'sickening' part

"honcho's playing the wounded little timmy and trying to get sympathy. it makes me sick"

first off that's not true. i already made that case above... but lets say it is rue.... you're telling me that when someone is attention whoring, that its "sickening" but when someone tells another person to "go kill themselves" ... oh!!! he was joking!!!! don't take it so personally!!!!.................you have serious morality issues... please consider talking to someone about that...... if youre best argument in this thread is that i came here looking for attention, you lost before you started... seriously lol.. i mean i tried to be nice and civil but damn you are an idiot.

sorry for prolonging this... i thought it would die soon, but diabblos his a bleeping bleep bleep.....

I thought the thread was a good warning to save some of the FFXI players time. We can just skip asking the players who have stated do not bother me. Bother and we will be pricks and assholes to you. So~ we are now aware and can by-pass you and the others like you~ Even if it might be an event you need. After all if you are such an ass, how can we depend on you to do your job correct. Most assholes lay blame on others and are not very good anyway. So when we are making that 20k-40k exp an hour party, or doing the missions you might want to be in....we know not to bother you.

A wise person would have noticed almost all of the players were upset over the drop dead part. You may say in in jest, but there have been cases across all of the MMORPG's where players have died in RL. Some of the people who are not very stable infact use these games as a way out of their RL stresses. So take a click over at the FFXI manners thread and read up. Make sure you skill up those stats so you might just someday reach level 75 human being with a concious.

Diabllos, I'll save you the quoting.. all I can say is you've provided some very weak arguments to say the least, especially when you've proven that you didn't make an honest effort reread the threads with any semblance of an open mind. Lets start with, its awefully easy to ignore shouts when you're in your moghouse.

I also covered the "don't expect courtesy" thing by throwing it back at you. When you don't offer courteous responses, don't expect them back, or for people to go weak kneed at the slightest agression. Now, you say that my RL comparisons can't be compared to this situation. Well, since you obviously understand little to nothing about human nature, consider that human nature leads people to want to respond to social stimulus similarly any time they encounter it.

So, I'd be inclined to think that Masimmo would tell some poor unsuspecting girl scout to go kill herself when she misdialed and called him, yet offered to sell him some cookies too. Could you imagine the damage that would cause?

Now I called both Honcho and Masimmo attention whores (as you so noted in your 'response essay'), because they continued to post inane and weak arguments, but that doesn't detract from the conversations sparked by Honcho, regardless of how vindicated he feels. And yes, I think Honcho was the worst offender regarding soaking up the attention, but again, those are really moot points.

I'll summarize it for you as simply as I can, Diabllos. Ignoring the attention whoring by either side, few people want to deal with an asshole who thinks its all fun and games to be a dick to someone who can't know anything about them, let alone when they tell someone to die. The fact that you're backing him up doesn't speak well for you either, but luckily for you, you seem more along the lines of simply misguided.

Diabllos is on a 5 day read-only, so he won't be responding to you for a while - which is probably for his own good, it'll give him some time to think up a response that makes sense this time.
