Alexial: The most retarded SAM you will ever meet.

Well if he wasn't a bad PLer (never thought that would come up), then what Alexial said would be spot on advice.

I never disputed that fact, if he was a good PL i would have been able to do my job fine, and Alexial would have been right. But with the given situation, she was dead wrong.

Dude you were a fucking warrior and you didnt want to be a sata partner??? What the hell else do warriors at that level bring to the table? Jesus christ I can understand Rangers or Bards being cocky, but now Warriors at mid-40's.

PFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!

Vang man, I usually agree with what you have to say, but have to call you out on this one. You are right with the sata. IMO War/Nin and Sam's are the best SaTa partners. HOWEVER, they can do a lot more than that. I have had the opportunity to play with several War/Nin lately (yo mithe!) and I have to say that while they are not my first choice for tank (whole nother thread) they make EXCELLENT melee DD. Not only do they do good damage, they are one of the few jobs that can keep up with Rngs and Sams for TP gain.

Man Alexial really told you THFs whine to much?? Damn, I got her a Kazham key as a 45 THF, I don't think I was whining. I gave her a pearl to my LS (I guess she has more than one 'cause I've never heard of PLD guy. -_- But anyway, why didn't you guys just cooperate a little more, it seems to me that both sides were being stubborn, their is more than one way to skin a cat. Like positioning the PL'er behind the tank like palum said.

Oh, and that guy who refuses to be SATA partner, WTF. All you have to do is voke off pull and stand there. How hard is that? Sometimes their is problems with hate control at the beggining but any THF who knows their shit will explain to the other party members that they need to hold off on hate causing shit 'til after the SATA. I admit at around 30-40 I would get bitchy at SATA partners and/or tanks for not doing it correctly but thats because they had no idea what Trick Attack was or how it worked. A lot of the time and wouldn't voke straight off and it gets really fucking frustrating to explain SATA over and over and over. But really all you have to do is voke and stand there. Any good THF and tank will do the rest. You've probably just had bad THF's and/or tanks who suck at setting up SATA. I've had BLM's and RNG's be my SATA partners, so if you can't be one as a WAR that must be kinda of embarrasing.

and if you have to ask this? I have to ask what game have YOU been
playing? WAR is probably the most versatile job ever! Thf only has SATA.
Take that away from them and you got nothing.

Duffman kicks ass, and I know he is 100% correct.

I edited the quote as nothing more than a joke.

By the way, I have permanently retired war because of SATA.
I believe the damage and hate control are wonderful, but I am not
willing to make it happen. Why? because I absolutely can't stand the
whole "Dance" of it.

That doesn't mean 1)I hate Thfs or 2)I am an SATA leech.
That is why I now have SAM as my main and RNG as my sub.
(RNG main for BCNM and for Promyvion).
I am fully capable to chain off of the Thf's Viper bite allowing even more
damage and possibly a MB from a BLM.

My LS buddy was in a pt with me and the WAR and the PLD were too
stupid to understand the whole SATA dance. I do understand it so the
THF picked on me to take up the slack. I flat out refused (sam/rng).
Instead, it took 10 fights to get the two knuckle-heads to understand
the "dance". So SATA was working fine, and I was allowed to SC off
of the THF (with a MB).

So yeah, (for the other guys post not this one) I have a disturbing outlook
to you but I have taken action and discontinued my war once I found out
that the THF will always pick on me.

bye bye war! Man I loved that job too, if it wasn't for the SATA it would
be perfect IN MY OPINION.

THF gets Hide at 45. SATA then can come from any direction, and then it's not much of a dance anymore, not that it really ever was. Even if it does require a little organization, the benefits of the damage and hate control far outweigh any reasons not to take advantage of it.

MOB comes to camp, after puller does all the work of getting it there...
You have to hit F8, and your voke macro. THF gets behind the tank and slams the MOB...Looks like THF is really the only one dancing around the MOB. If you are main tank, you need only to get across from the initial voker and stand there.

I hear what you are saying, but I don't see why it's a problem. And if you retire WAR, I can't see that it's because SATA is just unbearably annoying to deal with as a tank. It's a friggin' blessing.

so are we all happy now? (not sarcastic)

Sorry you can't see it but yeah, it was really that annoying to me.
And NOT YOU but some other poster in here, for some reason couldn't
see my earlier post that read "...and I retired war..."

For some reason, I had to repeat it. I realize most of you locked onto
the inflamatory remark and got tunnelvision, but it scares me that those
who missed that are probably those who repeatedly miss battle-reports
in game.

It's your choice. Not like anyone cares what job you want to play, and which jobs you like or even for what reason.
The argument you made for that reason, was debatable, so people debated it. It's better that you realized the job isn't for you and why now than at 75.

I hate to say it, but sam's play sata partners too...I can see u get far past 50 or lvl 60.

If you have a non-pld tank (PLDs can get mass hate, SAnTA only helps) a THF is almost always needed to help with hate. I really don't see it being that hard to just voke and get hit, it's what you do when you tank, but for less time. I never realized how hard it is for a THF to pull off a proper SAnTA without a back up voker until I had to.... As for being a trick buddy, done that too, its not hard, it's like tanking for a few seconds, if you're WAR/NIN you dont' even get hurt....

I count my blessings every day for having a thf in my static.

Now if we could just get back to levelling...

Yeah, statics are a mixed blessing. Ours only met about twice a week
because of time-slot coordination. Since then all but two of the party
still play this game. Sadly 4 of the members left.

Thats usually my primary function in a pt, to first voke so the thf can SAnTA and turn hate to the pld, then I wait for the thf to get enough tp, and we SC with Enpi ----> SAnTA -----> Viper Bite. By this time, the mob is usually really focused on the pld, and hate will usually stay off me. I gotta say, its rare that my hp ever goes into the yellow with this strategy XD.

Just skimming the thread, but has anyone figured out yet why Duffman doesn't believe in automatic word wrap? Seriously, why do you break all your lines up manually? It looks strange and is more annoying to read in that format. I run into a pretty high resolution already, so each of your lines only takes up 1/5 of the width of my screen. :?

Mostly it is when I am at work. To avoid getting caught talking
to you web-monkeys, I have to shrinky-dink my screen. It sits
in the lower-right hand corner. Footsteps behind me? Oh better
believe I am speedy with the ALT+TAB. That's why, and thanks
for asking.
