This thread reminds me of Signs (which sucked, btw)
In fact, everything M. Knight [unpronouncable last name] directed has been fucking awesome.
This thread reminds me of Signs (which sucked, btw) - the part where the alien walks past and freaks out all the kids at the birthday party.
You've never seen "The Village" I take it.
I've seen it, in fact I own it. I love that movie, wierdest most unexpected twist ever.
I have The Village, Signs, Unbreakable, Lady in the Water, and The 6th Sense - all fucking awesome.
So what I'm getting at is that after you find out the "twist" in The Village it ruins the movie. I mean watching a blind girl getting chased around in forest by a retard in a costume can only help a movie so much...
Well yeah if someone spoiled the ending for you before you saw it...it would be a pretty boring movie.
I think the point was that once you find out the twist WHILE WATCHING, it ruins the movie.
You could learn a thing or two from this guy ExcI think the point was that once you find out the twist WHILE WATCHING, it ruins the movie.
I'm not one for scary movies, but after I found out the twist I didn't flinch once.Well then...fuck you guys. I actually thought the movie was pretty lame until I found out the twist. I thought the dialogue seemed really fake and poorly done, and then I found out that it was fake, because...well you've seen it. And it all made sense.

PS GTFBack online you homo.
The problem with The Village is that it was horribly marketed. It never should have been marketed as a horror movie at all, that's not even what the movie is about. I think a lot of people went into with certain expectations and were very disappointed when the movie turned out to be something completely different.
What are you talking about? The Village wasn't supposed to be a scary movie you idiot.
EDIT:
Hmm, just read this post. What the hell are you talking about? Are you serious? I don't ever remember that being marketed as a horror.
Fans and critics alike noted the film's (perhaps purposely) deceptive ad campaign that portrayed it as a horror film instead of the drama/love story that it was, something that may have added to the film's negative word of mouth.
