Hold the phone Phear. It's obvious RNG damage has hit the lagoon pretty hard, but this statement is lacking some facts. Melee jobs do not have it nearly as easy as you think (save for DRG possibly, but I don't know any well enough to ask them so I'll avoid that one). I'm going to completely avoid the topic of each job having to do SC's at the right time, because this is a common thing to all melee's.
Let's start with DRK. They open the fight with a few debuffs which is relatively simple, but once the battle starts? DRK has to keep their trigger finger on that Stun macro and watch the chat log like a fucking hawk - walking away during a fight is barely ever an option and can result in a lot of dead people (gob bombs being notorious for this).
SAM... ok, this one might be relatively simple as well. Memorize the skillchains that do the damage (not necessary, but definitely bonus points), and spam your Meditate macro every... what, 3 minutes? Still, SAM is often asked to pull if there's no THF or RNG which can be a bitch, and memorizing multiple skillchains is a fuck of a task.
THF always need to watch the mob, the hate situation, and understand when they're safe to SA or TA behind a non-tank melee. Their job is not easy, and I always enjoy watching them.
MNK have so many damn JA's, they usually don't have a chance to rest either - offsetting abilities for the most effective DoT chart and (in the right situations) backup tanking are relatively taxing.
WAR... ugh. Don't get me started. For me, taking a piss between fights is not possible unless it's a full rest, as I'm almost always pulling (mind you this is a situation with my static, so that's not an inherent job task). The variety of gear we swap out during fights becomes a science - carrying strictly exp gear my inventory is 42/55, before oils / powders / food etc.
I said it before and I'll say it again - up until now, RNG has required little more than money. They went overboard with the damage reduction, but the positioning thing was introduced to force a brainpower requirement on the job. It still will be, from what I've seen partying with RNG's since the 30s, one of the easiest jobs to play once the battle starts - all you do is find your position, hit your RA macro, and recast shadows when you get hit.
