Good to know that SE is taking this all very seriously. o_O;

The question now is, can they actually salvage this game? Even with a new team it's going to take some major overhauling to bring it up to standard and start drawing people back in. It's also good to see that they won't start charging fees until everything is fixed.

This is my big question as well. I feel that one of their big problems is that they do everything with RMTs in mind: why don't they have a test server? RMTs; why no AH? RMTs, etc, and I don't think that's something that's going to change, no matter how many team changes they make.
I hope I'm wrong though; if the quality of the game improves significantly I may return.
I really had hopes that this would be an awesome MMO.. they had absolutely every element available to make an incredible game. :/

I really do feel that they can salvage this game. I mean, not many MMOs get the chance to launch twice like FFXIV has. If they can make the improvements they promise and get a lot of hype around the PS3 version (making a point about the improvements since PC launch while doing so) then I feel they can drag a lot of players back in. I love the class system, I love a lot about the game, it just isn't done how I feel it should be done.

I think a lot of people will be happy to see faces returning from FFXI developers also.

Now just get an AH in there!

Edit: Interestingly enough, they have 2 patches planned for December. Should be a decent month I hope.

They must be haemorrhaging money over at SE. Only a matter of time before XIV servers are run by a hamster on a wheel while the developers continue to fiddle with the UI. You can't polish a turd!

Ahh shit. Delaying the PS3 version. -.-

Because flopping on both releases would totally be a good idea, right? </sarcasm>

This is probably the correct decision as far as the game's long term health is concerned.

I dunno........theyre gonna have to do a lot to this game to convince me to come back.......

What he said.

Funny: The old XI dev team just got fired from SE for failing so hard at designing XIV.

Awesome: A result of all of this also means the director of the Abyssea expansions just got elevated to design lead for XI.

Final Fantasy XIV: Truly the best thing ever to happen to FFXI.
