Announcing the Arrival of Square Enix Security Tokens & Square Enix Accounts!(04/07)

I doubt it. Our finance department uses similar devices to generate keys for their secure transactions, and none of those appear to have batt indicators.
In the notes they talk about an error message that will pop up and warn you about the battery being low.

A lot of the people buying this aren't doing it for the token, but for the bag that comes with it.

that's me. I'm not typing in a code every time I log in but how can I say no to doubling inventory slots, it would make so many things so much easier/faster.

my bank doesn't even use this much security for its average customer (granted the customer service is a lot better), its so much overkill.

most problems I've seen are either from people checking out shady sites on IE, reused passwords for FFXI related sites or because they shared account info, three things I don't do.

its not congested anymore... yeah.. 14 days... I wonder where they are shiping it from.
Where all magical electronics come from.
Spoiler:
China.

Buying this thing can actually save money. Cut your mule usage in half, then cancel the content IDs you're not using. Put that buck or three towards something useful, like a candy, or a soda.

WoW has a similar product available (when its not outright sold out). I always thought it was a clever idea, but to agree with many other sentiments, how can I say no to double inventory?

the battery life in any secure id is insanely long. this one will exceed the life of a normal one since it is only on for about 5 seconds after you press the button. if it dies. durrr, change da batry. they dont teach rocket science anymore in ffxi do they?

Clearly you've missed why the topic on battery life came up.
Well, I got my answer about what happens when the battery dies....it looks like you can't replace it. They say to cancel the link to the security token when the battery starts to get low; if you don't, then oops, bye-bye 11 (at least until you drop another $10, or call and raise hell to customer service).

I would've paid $20 if it was just for extra inventory lol.
Couldn't care less about the security item > >

So, can you still get the satchel before the token arrives by linking your account? Or do we have to wait 'till it ships?

Also, they said UP TO 14 days, not 14 days. They could ship it tomorrow for all you know. All companies write stuff like that to prevent customers from calling after 10 hours asking where their satchel is.

And trust me, it happens. I get calls every day from customer who ordered at 1 AM, and then proceed to call at 1 PM 12 hours later asking why they didn't get their stuff yet.

Then there's the morons that don't read and call, or the morons who think the world circulate around them and call anyway because they're in a hurry and need their stuff this instant and can't wait 'till tomorrow.

Have to register the device on SE account to get a snatchel.

So... I am assuming that the following statement:
POL Viewer said:
Please also note that once a Playonline ID is linked, it can never be unlinked.
is referring to the linking of the Playonline ID to the Square Enix Account, instead of to the token. It would be rather horrible if it was direct to token because of everything else said in this thread (Battery life etc etc)

Q Can I stop using my security token if I don't want to use it anymore?
A You can remove your Square Enix security token from your account using the Square Enix Account Management System, but once you have done so, you will never be able to use it again
I am assuming that this means that you can't use that particular token anymore, but I wonder if you can use another? I should think so because otherwise how would you change a token that is damaged, ran out of battery....

Q If I remove my Square Enix security token, will I still be able to obtain a Mog Satchel?
A Characters from PlayOnline IDs that are linked to a Square Enix account will not be able to acquire a Mog Satchel after the security token has been removed. Existing Mog Satchels will not be affected.
Now this is why I'm trying to figure out if they deliver to Singapore or whether I need to get someone to buy it for me.

Q - What do I do if my security token is lost or broken?
A - Please contact the Information Center immediately.
As soon as we have confirmed that you are the account holder, we will remove the security token settings from your account.

Has SE given any indication of when the tokens will be shipped?

It probably shipped the day after a person orders it. They said it can take up to 2 weeks to deliver, it's only been a week so far since they were available for purchase.

I got mine yesterday, w00t.

I also got mine yesterday. Registered for a Square Enix account, linked my PlayOnline ID to my SE ID, registered my token via serial number and one time password.

After I logged in (twice), my mog satchel became available. Here's the deal:

When you bring up your inventory, it's the same size and you can't see the satchel. In order to use the satchel, you have a new command:

/satchel

Using this command brings up the satchel and your inventory window, side by side. You can sort each window separately and transfer items between them in the field. Essentially it's like carrying a mog bank around with you.

Currently my satchel contains all my fishing gear and lures, all my crystals, a couple long-term quest items like a delkfut key and pirate chart, and some farmed items like lizard eggs etc. I have Gobbie Bag VII, so my inventory has 65 slots, and thus my satchel also has 65 slots. Very comfortable to have all that extra space.

One note: the playonline viewer will not let you save your SE password. So each time you log in you must enter both your password (via soft keyboard) as well as the one-time token password.

None yesterday or today and ordered it on the first day possible, watch it have gotten lost en route and I'll have to call them Wednesday to find out what happened to it.
