So here I am at level 52 with White Mage, hoping upon hopes that all of the bad parties are behind me, and I can make a clear dash to the upper 60's or so within the next month. (not a whole lot to be hoping for really...) But alas, the last 6 parties I've been in have been disasterous, including two lolmelees that didn't know where The Sanctuary of Zi Tah was, (let alone the Boyahda Tree or how to navigate these zones), and an encounter with one of the most quote worthy players I've ever had the displeasure of teaming up with...

Quote worthy, for this little gem right here... (If I could screenshot it, I would have, stupid PS2...)

Ansgarswifee: I though I only needed Warrior sub for Provoke.

Now... let me provide a bit of back information here. First of all, this Taru PLD is level 52, and sure as shit is rockin' the hell outta thier level 18 Warrior Sub job. They don't have a single piece of Vitality gear, but has a pair of level 36(7?) STR + Rings. Oh, and a Raptor helm, which I lol'd at. No AF piece either. Good times, yah?

When I told them (in /tell as to not cause a scene for the other members in the party) that they need to level thier sub, all I get in party chat is "ya i do lol" from this moron. Another party member (Bildozer) and I proceed to tell the PLD, that there are many things you lose without having a proper sub job, such as defense and HP bonuses, abilities, and whatnot. And that's where that quote from above came in... and I was stunned.

At level 50 something... how is having a fully leveled subjob being beneficial a huge secret?

Anyway, I knew that I had recognized the name from somewhere, and a short /search on the forum dug this up:

Anyway, I hope they level thier subjob, but beware of this player either way.

Psssh. Defender is SO overrated. Thanks for the heads up, i thought i recognized this name somewhere else.

But if she uses defender, she'll lose 25% attack and won't be a leetsauce DD anymore! Gosh, don't you noobs know anything?

yes, we all know some players are definitely gimp; we usually call them NAs.

should just make a compilation gimp thread where everyone can post their bad experiences with certain people, so we don't need to have a thousand of these threads.

So what your saying is, we should reserve the flameboard for those who only want to play witch hunt about voke botting, or holding NM's, or something like that? Whatever. The flameboard is lol with threads like these, and it's lol without them.

If you see another one of these threads, just skip it. We won't miss you.

There was this one party I was in, high 40s, Quicksand Caves. The JP BLU was absolute shit. He wore MP/MND crap like you'd usually see on a WHM, subbed NIN, but the best part was the fact that he honestly believed meleeing fulltime at 300% TP (no, he wasn't using Chain Affinity either) aided the power of his spells. When asked to stop (it took a while for him to actually goddamn listen) he said, and I quote: "JP research says meleeing at 300% TP is best."

Moral: Gimps are not limited to purely the NA player base.

Nontheless, the moral stands. '-'

Woot! My flame was brought up again! But for a bad reason. T_T I guess you could just ask the person asking you to party of Ansgarswifee (or Ansgar himself) is in your party and if they answer yes, just say "Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass."

There are like...3 of these threads. Cry moar...

Anyway, ironically, I heard some LS mates complaining about a 52PLD/18WAR today (I'd assume its the same person.). Boot and move on. What else can ya do?

I recall this taru pld from the dunes, she brought her galka whm hubby over to PL our party. Things went faily well despite a few mishaps due to one or the other being afk.

I've seem PLD's with gimped war subs before, I questioned one who was in the jungle lv 27 in hidden status and all she said was "Christ you're the tenth person to tell me that, ok!" some people seem to think all the need from war sub is voke, never mind the loss of hp, and other stats a fully leveled sub would bring.

All I can say is dont let people get a free ride in a party even if they bring a PL along to make the deal sweeter, sometimes its better to keep searching rather than take a tank thats very under prepared.

We were chaining nicely in Quicksand when Angarswifee's party showed up and camped behind us. Meh, ran out of mobs after a while so we moved.

It was fun watching Angarswifee get one shotted by a Sickle Slash tho :P

I have no clue on BLU but i thought melee based spells were better @300%?

I thought the effectiveness of the BLU spells depend on the amount of TP?
Although it would be logical to do some Chain Affinity every now and then instead of TPing up to 300% all the way.

BLU spells aren't the slightest bit different with 0% or 300% TP, unless Chain Affinity is in effect. If you have 100%+ TP, you should either be planning to spend that on a CA'd spell, or you should be planning to WS. Just sitting around and casting spells with high TP does nothing extra for them.
