Ok, as I have said before, Im from Hades server and I have a tactic for high prices that seemed to work for me. This will net you quite a bit of gil while helping other people save theirs from the AH. If you want to put in the extra work, go to the AH and research the prices of all the equipment you plan to sell.

First off, you will need as much equipment as you can for a variety of levels. I recommend gobby bags to make life simpler.
Go to Jueno and /shout or /say that you are offering Armor and Weapon upgrades for a small fee. This fee should be about half the price of the item at AH. So, they give you their old armor, and half the total cost. You give them the armor for their next level. Now you have two options:
1) Use the armor you have just aquired to sell to other people
2) Sell the newly aquired armor at the AH for full price. By the end, you are up 150% of what that armor origonally cost. (100% from AH, 50% from the previous owner). This should offset the amount you lose from trading higher level armor.
Just continue to do this until you get bored, or you can afford the item you want. If word gets around, you can practically open up your own "shop" right there in Jueno. (It does get tiresome though lol.)
The only drawbacks to this plan are that it usually only works for higher level'd gear (25+) because cheap gear is just that, cheap. You also have to either start with a considerable amount of gear, or buy it yourself, and re-sell it, waiting for the buisiness to offset your losses. Also, you can only do one trade transaction at a time, so if you have alot of customers, it can get rather irksome.
All in all, it worked really well. I had some high level players make some considerable donations to the cause and it seemed to help alot. We ended up making a linkshell called "TheMerchants" and we went to each nation doing this. It worked best in Jeuno though. Try it and see. Because from as far as I know, inflation went down ever so slightly because people were getting their armor "under the table" style and the AH wasnt getting the attention it needed to support high prices.
The people who did end up selling for high amounts lowered them because nobody was buying. Eventually, prices dropped so far enough, that it was almost im-profitable for us to continue. Thus we closed up shop, and went on our way until the prices soar again.
Try it on Quez. If just me and about 20 LS friends could do that much, imagine what you all could do if you pooled together. You could make your own AH I daresay.
