I plan to buy a new PC before January comes by. Is there anything you guys would change (which won't affect the price too much) to this rig? It's a pretty expensive investment so I want to make sure I'm getting it right.

I'd spring for not-a-home-edition of Windows 7, but that's just because I don't like getting locked out of obscure less frequently used administrator functions.

The one thing I noticed that would be important to me is to not have samsung memory. Get corsair or crucial if possible. The speed of ddr3 memory means very little to i7's, since the platform is built on 1066, the real world difference of higher clock speeds is negligible at best. Samsung makes cheap parts to push out cheap products, so their timings are probably not all that good at that speed.

Is this something you're building yourself or is it a company building it for you? If you're building it yourself, I'd look into the ASUS Sabertooth X58 mobo, as it's similarly priced if not lower, and it's just as good as anything above it. Has USB3.0 and SATA 6gbs capability, so you're pretty set. Also it has military spec capacitors, resistors, and mofsets, so you know you're getting a reliable board.

A company is building it for me. I'm way too uneducated to put it together myself. If you can chip a nail while doing it, then the job should be done by a real man.

They do, do other ram that I could pick from however. This is the site I'm ordering from http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/ My budget is £1700 maybe push to £1800 but I don't want to have to unless completely needed.
