Anyone else find it hard to choose a job?

I level jobs just on how cool they look.

I always liked vivi from FFIX, hence I leveled BLM first. Red Mage AF looks sexy as hell, so I'm leveling that now. My next job will probably be either Whitemage (if I can be bothered to .dat mod the AF body into a cloak so it looks like the original White Mage armors) or Ninja because they look so delightfully badass.

Plus I find that replaying some of the older games, and seeing what your play style is like helps tremendously. On most of the games my favorite characters are usually mages who're decked out with the best gear and abilitys. Hence I chose to play mainly mage jobs, and so picked a tarutaru character to play these job types as best as they should be played.

I picked the ugliest character I could find without a hairy back

I jump around from job to job alot. I've been playing for about 1 1/2 years now. I recently decided that Bard was going to be my first job to 75. I don't have much time during the week to party with my bard so during the week I usually level bst. On the weekends I level bard. I actually had a day off of work yesterday so I did manage to get my Bard to lvl 42 and i'm about 4k to 43.

Level everything til 37 then decide what you want to be. Jobs don't blossem into what they're going to be end game until like 35-40. I know people who took jobs to 75 and ended up doing what they didnt want to because the jobs role changed.

Just go take all the jobs to 20 first, and see if there's one particular job you end up liking best, if not, then maybe try lvlling them all to about 37 so at least you can end up subbing any job to any job if you ever do take a job to 75.

Mind you, getting all jobs to 37 would take a very long time, unless you play 24/7.

5 hrs a day for 5 days gets you to lv 37

so be err 18 X 5 = 90 days

When I get to 75 I'll stay up late some night and /punt you in a duo or something, or /poke your corpse when you die. Halifirien and I are still going to level/merit together from time to time at that point, but not nearly as much. Instead we'll probably solo more and spend more time working with other people.
I'll be happy to go beat up on dhalmels with you. :) Or trolls. Never really merited bst on T/VT's in the new zones yet. I've probably got some learning to do.
