Anyone else lm-11 today ?

Hi two people have been lm-11 in my linkshell today and we are trying to figure out why, until they can call se after the holidays. So has anyone else or someone you kow been lm-11'd within the last 24 hours ?

No flameing please, just a simple question.
 
Isn't LM11 the "You're fucking banned for good" Ban?
 
I'm not sure and we can't figure out why it has happened either hopeing its a mistake on se behalf but they won't be able to call for a few more days yet. Iv'e been told 11 can be temp or perma so im really unsure.

Regarding Malicious Third-Party Programs used in FINAL FANTASY XI (12/24/2009)

Over a period of time, we have been monitoring an individual responsible for the creation, sale and distribution of 2 third party tools in violation of the rules of the FINAL FANTASY XI service and various state and federal laws. The tools were utilized by players and gil farmers to gain an unfair advantage over other players in a variety of ways. As a result of our investigation, we have taken appropriate action against the individual, have halted distribution of the programs and have disabled the servers used to run them.

We are in the process of investigating other third party tools originating in the U.S. and abroad and will take similar action against the creators and their customers when we are ready to do so. We have a zero-tolerance policy against any attempts to artificially manipulate FINAL FANTASY XI gameplay or the PlayOnline service. Usage of third-party tools will not be tolerated within the FINAL FANTASY XI community, and we will continue to ban user accounts for consumers of these products and will potentially take legal actions against those who create the tools.

We would like to remind players that, in addition to adversely affecting game balance, using third party tools or cheats can also have potential consequences that are not immediately obvious, as they often contain damaging viruses and Trojan horse programs, which may result in the transmission of account details.

We continually strive to create a fun and balanced environment for FINAL FANTASY XI, and we hope that our efforts ensure that our players continue to enjoy the experience.

No ban for me... Then again I've never really done anything worth a ban either.
 
Had someone in the linkshell last night afraid for his "friends" about this, but to be honest I think he was afraid of what might happen to him.

There is, actually. Kazoku openly bots, as seen in another thread, and PoL posted yesterday about a number of banning incoming related to those who purchased bots.

It could be unrelated, but it looks like 2+2 to most eyes. SE said they'd be taking action when ready, but when two people are LM-11'd the day after such a post, AND they come from a known botting shell who recently purchased a bot...

But no one from the other ls has been banned confirmed by Renze on bg so i don't think its anything to do with botting and im sure one of these banned is a pc user and the other not, i get were your comeing from but i don't think it's botting related yet.
 
Nah, they're not banned. They're all taking a 2 week vacation.

I know, I'm agreeing with you that it might not be. The shoe fits, it just might not be the right brand.
 
How the hell did I miss this thread, uptempo I honestly hope your not banned as you know there is no bad blood between us, but there is a number of things aside botting that could have landed you there as well as a few other members of your shell as you told me. Not going to openly air that shit out, but Arenz and the similarly constructed Mellon's have been spammed to stfu for as long or longer then app/nasa. There is also a huge sale increase in wizbot which is an aboard program iirc. SE usually attempts to just shut down the bots, this way they can watch the movement of the botting community and shut down as many of the wide spread programs as possible.
 
No, Uptempo wasnt, but he stated some members of his LS were.
 
Oh good, well kind of I guess. Who were they, and did they call s-e some lm-11 were credit card issues input wrong before.
 
Would not be C.C related as SE charges you on the first of the month.
