Anyone else not like this new layout besides me?

I know it's your board and all, but why were animated avatars disabled? Is there a reasoning behind this.
vB has some performance issues when it comes to animated sigs and avatars. I am unsure whether it only affects IE browsers or this is a problem across the board. I didn't make much of it when I first heard it, but last night I was browsing QCDN on my laptop which is just about a year old, and whenever I loaded threads with animations in them the browser just had troubles with rendering the page.

The fact that vB disables them by default (unlike phpbb which didn't care one way or another), tells me that Jelsoft is not likely to work on a fix for this issue.

I'm used to vb styles, I love this :D

For some reason animated avatars absolutly kill any campus computer I'm on when reading these forums (supper lag from 100% cpu usage). There is definitly a bug on vbBoards with them. My gaming machine is fine, but I suspect it is trying to use some video card application non-gaming machines are lacking. I agree with Sculli for disabling at least until it is fixed.

I'll admit I was lost and confused at first but now am already use to the new format and think it was a great move. It was so frustrating to try and get on the old site sometimes and nothing would happen. Everyone will get use to it and wonder how we got along using the old system for so long.

I don't think this really matters or anything but in the old site the user list on the bottom of the main page was in alphabetical order. Now it just seems to be random. I noticed it earlier when I was trying to see if anyone I knew was on >.>

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but someone said something about the logo at the top of the page not being the same as the old QCDN one. I was thinking since alot of sites do it, to hold a compitition to design the banner for QCDN!

As much as headbanging carby ruled, he can be retired for now and replaced by Medieval Yu-Gi-Oh.

It still is in alphabetical order Gannon, but "you" are there first now; then it proceeds with alphabetizing everyone else. That threw me at first also^^.

YOU CANNOT STOP THE POWERBOMB ZANGIEF POWER!!!!!!! EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, between, deleting sigs, removing sig privileges, only allowing text in sigs of individual users, I can. ;)

However, I believe that it won't be necessary to go that far, I am sure that me asking nicely will do the trick.

One issue I've found with the new setup is that we can't enter messages with <10 characters. I'm sure it's a measure implemented to stop people from creating one-character posts, but that never happened anyways. Can you lift that? It's a pain in the ass when you wanna whomp someone with a

sort of thing.

My only real problem with the new layout: no ignore function. I'm actually seeing posts from people who I'd put on ignore previously for having the posting skills of a dyslexic tree sloth.

It's still there Fellina; I believe you just have to actually put them on ignore again.

*hopes she isn't one of those people so Fellina sees this post*

Haha, no Kat. All gaming moms are cool in my book. ;)

I looked for an ignore option before I posted this and couldn't find it, so if it's there it's nowhere near as handy as it was on the old boards . . .

Kay, whatcha have to do is click on the person's name who you want to ignore. You can do it from the bottom thingy where it shows who's online, click on their name in a post, or from the memberlist. Then it'll take you to their profile thingy. From there you can either choose the left option which is "Add to Buddy List" or the right option which is "Put person on ignore list" or something like that.

Hope I explained that okay :) .

We must keep this board free of malfunctions.

I really really like the office layout, took a day to get used to but now, when browsing qcdn I feel productive and like I'm not wasting my time, and I'm doing something important and professional.

Even though in the end I'm still just wasting my time =P
