"Logging hate" doesn't work unless you're ontop on the hate list in which case you can't logout. So I doubt that was usefull.
 
Well if the top is no longer the top, then the mob looks for the next person on their top. And if that person is nowhere to be found...
 
It doesn't really work like that. For logging hate to work, it requires the tanks to suddenly lose hate to such a level that they appear below you on the hate list. So unless you're saying the tanks should log, or the tanks aren't the top...
 
I dont understand why everyone is arguing about logging hate and if it actually clears hate and completely ignoring the fact that the hate has absolutely nothing to do with their strategy. The only reason they had people log was because it was the only way that they could figure out to have everyone avoid astral flow which is the one move that has kept others in the past from winning...

The wonderful thing about AF is... it can only only do it at certian places and is therefore... 100% predictable... ok pande is at 76% everyone log out except those who are gonna get it beyond there... boom astral flow... ok everyone log back on form parties recover and raise those who got fucked... good job everyone.

Had nothing to do with logging hate... was all about minimizing casualties and speeding up recovery.
 
I find it amazing actually they could virtually all log out at the same time, log back in at the right moment, reinvite each other, rebuff and continue fighting. That requires alot of coordination for an alliance to pull off quickly and efficiently.

I don't think it was cheating but it's really sad they couldn't figure out another way to avoid astral flow besides using an unconventional game tactic. I'm not quite familiar with the zone, is it a small room? Couldn't they just run away?
 
PW's Avatars hunt down and slaughter anyone on the hate list. it isnt as simple as running away since they will hunt you down forever in the order of highest-->lowest hate.
On top of that if you try to run for your life you're wasting time that could be dedicated to killing it for each person that runs away or even just sits still.

They didn't though. During the AF phase they logged out, and when he went unclaimed they had BLU/THF sac pulling with Cannon Ball until everyone were ready to go again.

It was. Several BLU/THF would cannon ball him and taking out a lot of HP in that time.

They did this to prevent it from depopping, and to prevent it from recovering HP. How is it not saccing? >.O
 
I know how and why they did it lol.

I was saying it wasn't completely sacing when instead of using the method to just depop (he recovers very little to no HP idle) they started using that as the main method to kill it. So I guess technically it was a zerg if we're arguing over semantics really.

I have logged hate plenty of times. Like when I’m running up to do the Brother’s ENM and catch aggro, I log my hate. I had never even considered that anyone could see that as a form of cheating.

As most of BG you missed the point the author was trying to make. He trying to say why are you giving credit to a group that did not beat it way you attendant and if they did log out which btw has been contested in pass by se to be a illigal rule. However I do not feel it is a cheat. He making a statment and I doubt was actually trying get these people ban, but bring light to SE 2nd bad judgement call in 1 month. First being banning those that capalized on se mistake. Punishment should been taken but they went to far. I feel SE should not got involved in game affairs and anolaging them on the main site. For reasons they now open pandora box.

BLMs logging hate on Tiamat is because while the tanks are at the top of the enmity list, they're jumping up and down a little on enmity as Tiamat does things to them, like wing/spell/lucky critical hit scored. But BLMs build hate as the fight goes, but don't loose it till they spike too high for Tia to look at them and smack them. So when they get to that point, log, which is both a cooldown for VE, and the tanks might just skip low enough for a second for Tia to look for you and clear your hate if you're offline.

Most gimps do, historically. They're always the first to cry foul when someone else has fairly decent gear.
