I remember wearing those boots, and thinking... if I had 3 mil to buy these I would slap myself silly because they really arent worth it. I would take them as a drop and people were really nice, but running around in them for 3 weeks...lol no way for my own $$$.

Oh, and the reason I usually undercut would because I want items to sell fast because I moved a lot of things, that 7 ah items only limit sucks ass.

IIRC 50k was pocket change to me :p

Sides people never check for cost + 13 gil :p

I saw this for months and thought the same thing. Why on earth sell astrals for anything less than they were currently selling for? I mean they sell so fast at the going price its sorta rediculous. Some big ticket items (strider boots are a good example) sell a lot less frequently so there is going to be undercutting. Sometimes over 100k undercutting just to move the product.

A lot of times when people want to liquidate their big items they need the money for something else. And we all know people are not patient. Someone who is 100k short of his Haubergeon will throw his leaping boots up for less than normal so he can get his haubby ASAP. I generally undercut by < 10k just to get my item to be first one sold if its a 100k+ item.

Its going to be very interesting to see how the community reacts to the AH fee---> current going price. I think it will discourage undercutting while making prices more reasonable. Discourage because if you pay the fee to put it up for 100k why would you put it up for less.

As for crafting i really dont know. Powercrafters have no choice because they have stacks and stacks of stuff they really dont have room for so they have to move items quickly which leads to undercutting and even dips the prices below cost-to-make which hurts the non-power crafters and renders that item unprofitable to make at all. Thats the understanding of someone whose highest craft is 19 so correct me if im wrong.

He sold Eurytos to buy the Strider Boots... dont flatter him.

I would of said that myself but "someone" beat me to it....

You know i dont know what to think about you Deci, this has nothing to do with the bet but you act really strange towards me at times....If you dont like me say something, I wont cry or be offended. It will be nothing new, stop with the smarmy fucking comments already....

It pays to play the other side of that little game, and try to guess a lower price. People that undercut, just try to move ahead of the pack and hope that the next person bidding is going to bid somewhere close to PH.
I like bidding low, and ruining their plan.

You should see how much those boots sell for now, I think its around 7mil for awhile now... and yea I agree with you, but hey at least Vang realizes that equipment can be sold back... its not like he LOST 7mil by buying them, when he doesn't want em anymore he just sells em back, or if he needs the money whatever.

Yeah, its not like plunking down 300k on a spell you can't get back once you're done with it.

I got my two Astral Rings just recently for 215,100 and 200K + spare change (I threw all I had at it - 200,198 or something). I love undercutters. With the insane pricejacking on anything worth having, it's only right that prices start dropping.

You "love" undercutters? Well how did you make that 500k to get those astral rings? Did it just pop out of nowhere? I assume you SOLD something to get those rings? Do you like it when your undercut to make that 500k to buy your rings?

Hmmmm.....

Unless im mistaken the ONLY way you could have "made" that gil was by selling items on the AH block. Did you enjoy when you were undercut?

Or did you just buy your 500k gil?

So to say you "love" undercutters baffles me...

Please explain

Everyone loves undercutters. People just hate them when they're selling the same thing. How did I make money? I mostly sold wild onions, silk thread, and insect paste balls. I got lucky with Spiny Spippy a few times. I got the Bombking's Bombring, the Cruel Scythe from one of the Dopplegangers in Horototo. I got lucky in a gamble with four tree saplings, and got 100k from a Dark Ore (which was dropping in price at the time, but I did ok). I did the Aspir, Warp and Drain quests and sold them to invest in culinary to make my money back. Doing those things let me equip my white mage decently - +1 seers and some misc level 34-35 stuff. However, I'm a summoner now. I sold all of my white mage stuff. That's how I got my 500k or so. Not everyone with spare change bought it from IGE, you know.

Undercutters are great when you're buying, and price jackers are great when you're selling. You have to play the system. I didn't buy Astrals when they were 250,000 each. I waited for everyone to cash in on easy gil and flood the market, then got mine for 100k less. I don't sell my stuff when there are 100 in stock and the price drops lower than an Elvaan's INT. If your stuff isn't selling for the price you want, just wait. Eventually the excess stuff will be bought, and you can name your price. If you want the AH to cater to your personal whims - dropping when you need to buy, and raising when you need to sell, you're just out of luck. Patience is a virtue.

Lol you dont know me very well i guess....

Guess I should clear that up but i COMPLETELY agree with what you said, Im accused of it all the time.

I wasnt accusing you of buying 500k, that can be made in a day. But anyone that says they "love" undercutters and does not clarify it like you just did in your 2nd post I question....

I don't know you at all, except for your reputation for being flawlessly equipped. Oh, and Sabia spoke well of you in another thread. People say you're just tired of idiots - who isn't? But I don't know you personally. I also don't want to set a bad first impression. I just couldn't think of any better retort for an apparent gil buying accusation. Pompidou isn't the best character around, by any means, but he's legit.
