are the gil seller driving people out

ps i cant understand the need for all these sellers it seem to me that they are only hurting them self with these large numbers. There only limited amount of mobs they can kill in day. It just seem they be cutting there own throuts with char cost and gil x (amount of gs players)

LoL, funny how people is...

They hate gilseller and gilbuyer, and we all want them to disappear, now ige price of gil is getting higher and higher almost everyday, and major gilseller is slowly getting ban by SE invesagation. Now we want gilseller to be back? O.O lol well, there is penty for you in Korr. Tunnel lol

Remember FFXI is like 4 years+ old now, it could be this MMO is slowly dieing? o.O

www.ffxiah.com show a lot of the server only have like 15k-17k population in each server i don't know is that accurate tho or they only showed how many player transaction on Jeuno's AH but anyway, i like it this way :P

No, no you misunderstood my statement/observation. To be honest I don't hate them nor like them-- I'm quite indifferent. (I do realize that sounds like a witch talking in a bible belt, but so be it.) RMT is simply an organization that stock piles gil rather than push it back into the economy by means of the AH/bazaar/trading, etc that most regular players would do. If a End-Game LS stock piles gil in a bank then they would act much like RMT to a degree. In real life banks still put money into our economy. Just because you are "Saving" your money via a bank doesn't mean that money is not in circulation-- it is simply means when you wish to make a withdrawl it is there.

When money is banked in the game it is not in circulation. It remains on a character and thus without these gilbuyers "withdrawing gil" from the RMT's "bank" the gil does not filter back into the economy. The irony is, most often than not, they get the gil right back via the AH. But, as long as it is actually circulating, it will still trickle down. Same concept applies with end-game shells in the sense that profits usually trickle down. Remove RMT and you will still have someone on top. You will still have botters. You will still have people who monopolize an NM/crafted item, etc.

The worst part is.. Usually RMT sell a product for the least amount. "Regular players" will normally try to buy an item cheap and sell high until the item becomes so abundant that they have no choice but to undercut.

I don't advocate gilbuying/selling, but I honestly don't care that much what someone does with their real money, either. You would be surprised by how many people post on qcdn that have bought gil, or may you wouldn't. I wouldn't be surprised either if people who frequent this forum sold gil. Especially considering how many people complain about player's equipment, yet also admit to having a hard time making their own gil. To some it is easier to drop 100USD for gear that they would have to spend -countless- real time hours to get. To other people, it is those countless hours that makes things fun.. to each his own in the end as long as I don't have to pay the credit card bill.

Yep. Give it a few years and every server will be 75% gil sellers and 25% normal players.

But hey, what does SE care, they still get their monthly fee regardless of gil seller or legit player.

Oh and my bad, THEY ARE NOT GIL SELLERS! They are people who simply have more time to play according to SE.

Eh, to be honest.. the economy is better when more people are buying gil. >.< The reason for that is if the gil is not in circulation the economy suffers.

Hate to say it but they certainly do keep the enonomy stable to a certain extent. Remember when they banned the first wave that used to camp for Archer's Rings? Prices of the rings increased 50% after the ban because players decided to pump up the prices while gil sellers kept them steady.

For sellers the economy sure does suck right now. Only one of my normal money making methods works and the prices have dropped by 25%. The others still kinda work but the items sell very, very slowly now and I've been hearing the same thing from crafters.

Pretty fucked up how RMT has such a HUGE influence over the economy of every, EVERY, server and SE doesn't do jack about it.

I really don't care how low prices get when gil sellers and buyers flood the game. When non lazy people go to camp something to benefit their character and others are there only to get and sell the item to benefit their wallet and ruin your gameplay as much as they can in order to do so it ruins everything. If people are too lazt to go out and try to get something that shouldn't be hard to get then they deserve to pay the highest price possible.

I recently had some friends start playing on the xbox and they are the worst gamers ever. They buy all their gil and buy everything even if they can get it from a 10 minute quest. They make sure they always have the best gear that's on the AH and they go level and that's all they ever do. It sickens me.

Woah there badly scewed look on economics.

The less Gil there is in circulation(IE, stagnated somewhere such as a Gilseller Gil Holding character,) the more buying power The Gil(1[One]) has on items, due to there being less Gil traded around for goods. When people buy Gil, that Gil enters the economy again, causing more Gil to be flowing from player to player, which reduces the buying power of The Gil(1[One]).

Say you have a one dollar bill. And theres only 100 dollar bills in the entire nation. Compared to another nation, your friend has a one dollar bill, but collectively, there are 500 dollar bills around. Whos dollar is worth more?

If it worked the way you said, the goverment could just print out more and more bills, claiming "I'm rich, bitch!" as they do so. But unfortunantly, our currency is backed by gold. The further apart currency gets in the currency:gold ratio, the less it's actually worth. There are other factors too, but thats the one that has the most sway over how much a Dollar is worth. Ofcourse, what backs Gil in FFXI? Items, the more items there are compared to Gil, the better. The more Gil there is compared to items, the worse.

I think the gilsellers are just leveling their banks so they dont stand out so much as 100 level 1 characters with hundreds of millions of gil each. SE already stated they were banning level 1 characters holding shit-tons of gil.

SE does handle these situations Everlasting...Hence I'm suspended till July 24th and another review of ban! Lol Totally worth it imo, I hope those RMT fucks have my name on a list.

Oh, and SE doesn't care if they harrass you either. Cao ni ma, shit, fuck your mather, mather fuck, etc are only expressions and reactions of having lv60 monsters trained onto them.

GM Klilabelle, just put it in your mouth...I've seen some unruly GM's like Chandrok, but this bitch tops the chart.

RMT could have possibly called them on me, but who knows. Maybe it was that innocent bystander Yardog, who logged on his BST and the Jammer Leeches gang beat him as he popped. Funny as hell and I apologized to the guy.......Yet he continued to train the Jammers back to their spawn point.

*Glee* The RMT have new heros! Klilabelle and Yardog!

This was more of myself driving out, with a jump start from a GM who sides with bitch gil sellers crying MPK and -NEVER- listening to the multiple times I've called them on harrassment, so just as a warning to others. MPK is far worse than harrassment, if you MPK - you deserve harrassment.

Mmmm that was so worth it, I'm gonna use those 20+ screenshots I got and make a nice desktop lol

Rmt Bane. Dowz, Peace!

US dollar hasn't been backed by gold in a long time. I hope that was just for the sake of example =|.

The US dollar is backed by GDP.

lol you beat me to it

if i quit as i am seriously considering it will be greatly due to RMT and SE's lack of response imo. Taking the gil out of circulation does nothing but make them redouble their efforts and charge higher prices for the drops they monopolize. See Pyoih and V-whore in Castle Oz.....

Just as a side remark... your sig is bitchin cool Tyr.
