I wouldn't have given back the Noble's. If the LS, even in some spate of "we want to start selling clothes again" madness, gave him the tunic for the work he put into the shell, it belongs to him. I've seen nothing in this thread that makes me believe he was told it was strictly a loan while he was an active member. Good luck getting everyone to understand an "unspoken rule."

The fact that Bustaballs gave it back in good faith and then had his pearl broken is the real tragedy here, although after seeing Decidence's posts I'm not convinced Bustaballs isn't better off being out of that crew.

What did busta do wrong?

Was it when he gave back the tunic? Or when he didn't cuss WYS out?

WYS is just being an asshole. There was no reason to kick Busta after he gave it back, especially when he told him that he could have it back when he started showing up again.

That's the key imho. If there is no clearly stated rule that high-end equipment is "LS property" then it isn't and the tunic belongs to Busta and should be returned to him.
 
It's not his. You can try to just as much as you want that it is... but it isn't. As for WYS booting him after he got the tunic. Like I said, I don't agree with it, but he took the steps he thought was necessary the get it back. And yeah, WYS is an asshole, all of the leaders are.

Sorry Busta, you never earned the tunic.
 
Neo's pretty much right. Burden of proof and QCDN's opinions aside it's a situation they have to deal with. The most we can do is be all "wtfzorz" about it. It's not like we're gonna make them give it back or anything, the most we can note is that the situation is fucked up and move on hoping there's some sort of resolution ... or not for those who could give a shit.
 
Another thing I'd like to add is that we haven't tried to reposess any nonrare/ex item we've handed out except Penut and Busta. Everyone has lived up to their word and shown their dedication to the shell. The only thing I can do now is make sure we don't do this again.

oh but I did.. according to the wishlist and the rules it is mine.. I was in group 4 of the wishlist saying that I had recieved my Nobles Tunic. Also the rule states that when a shining cloth drops it is passed on to a whm who has been approved of his nobles.

orly? Busta, I am not going to give you a multi-million gil item because you found a loophole in the rules and you think a month of work is worthy of a tunic. If you were in the shell for longer than a month, I would, but clearly that is not the case.

From my understanding, before this whole flame got started Busta had just came onto the LS after about a month or so of not being online due to RL.

WYS trys to get in touch with Busta about his Tunic and active/inactiveness in LS chat, Busta doesn't reply to him on LS chat. WYS tries to get in touch with him in /tell, WYS says in LS chat if Busta is ignoring him because he isn't replying to his /tells about his tunic/activeness/inactiveness. Pheebe then makes a comment in LS chat that Busta /blisted WYS, which I don't think wasn't the case. WYS sends Shinryuken to talk to Busta about the tunic, Busta replys to Shin, but not WYS. WYS makes a comment in LS in that Busta had unequipped the LS. Busta finally replies to WYS's /tells and they start talking about the tunic. WYS being pissed from being ignored by Busta before "tricks" Busta into giving Shin the tunic back, then Busta equips pearl again, and is kicked by WYS.

Now, like I said, I didn't agree with WYS "tricking" him, but Busta made no attempt in the beginning to resolve this when WYS tried to talk to him over LS chat first, and then in /tell for about an hour. Then Busta unequips the LS, which really pissed off WYS, so WYS goes off and "tricks" Busta into giving back the tunic and then kicks him when Busta gets back into the shell.

IMO, it was wrong for WYS to trick Busta, but Busta pissed off WYS so it was provoked, and if the argument of, "How do you know if I was AFK or not" comes up, it's pretty funny how you don't reply in LS chat despite having WYS spamming "BUUUSTAAAABALLLS!!!!" over and over (I should know, bastard fucked me up in counting shadows while killing leeches for Beastman Blood) and you don't respond, but when Shin gets to you, you reply to him.

Bottomline, like Deci said, both are wrong in some areas here, and some are right. Yeah WYS is an asshole for tricking him, but from what I saw on the LS chat, it was provoked. Do you have any idea how much times he spammed your name!?

I will point out to those not aware, from a completely unbiased perspective, 2 months is a very short time to get a nobles tunic already.

Linkshells often speed up the hand-outs of certain items because of availability, short lists, and intention to increase the linkshell power. People often take advantage of this, and sometimes hardworking people get irritated of being taken advantage of: Note the fiasco some months back with Ithenas taking Delite's Osode out of OH LS and attempts made to buffer.

Everyone of course strives to follow the word of the law but often people forget about the people who lose out - the people who actually DO spend the time farming sky and killing gods and see their work vanish.

Here's a new flash to those who say Real life is more important than a game.

NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!!

Doesn't mean you get all the items as fast as those who dedicated more of their time to the linkshell. If you play less, YOU GET YOUR ITEMS SLOWER!!! Your real life comes before YOUR ITEMS. Don't try and pass the responsibility onto your linkshell to do your work and still give you all your reward.

As for seemingly unethical maneuvers... well they seem to me more amoral than immoral after spending so much time watching fuckers like Dave(not Daveman), and Franscheska(fucking thief as far as I'm concerned) simply get what they want and disafuckingpear. Of course no one considers someone who gets an Osode and chucks their shell within 24 hours a thief.

But fuck them. These are the assholes that make endgame repeatative. People like this, are the reason linkshells can't just do sky a few months and be finished with it period. And people squabble over details like 3 months or 4 for Nobles tunic. It's fucking petty.

O.o I was feeding a changing the baby (go figure) and when I got back all I saw in my chat was tons of LS members talking to me and Shin standing next to me asking for the tunic. I didn't scroll up and look at anything else so I didn't see that.

Like Fire said, we do it to speed up our process in sky. Busta is a really nice guy, and he showed up a lot more than I had expected with him on diaper duty but after not seeing him or even knowing if he was still playing the game for a month, it was obvious he was couldn't handle both endgame and a baby at the same time much less deserve a nobles.
 
Ok, I've sat back and watched a bit. This is how it goes, you work for your right to wear the item, then goes the probationary period in which you earn it!

Correct me if I'm wrong.
