I would if Nintendo made good RPG games, but they don't so I probably won't be buying one.
Uh, do you mean "Made
by Nintendo" or "Made
for Nintedno", cause Super Nintendo was an RPG playing juggernaut way back in the day so idk where your comming from there.
What RPGs didnt you like for the old Nintendo systems?
Yeah, seriously ... some big lack of understanding here.
The actual manufacturers of the various consoles make almost NONE of the actual games for their respective systems. Rather, the vast, vast majority of them are all made by third parties. That's why you can have Squaresoft releasing titles on Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft consoles at the same time.
In point of fact, if native creative franchises are your big beef, Nintendo actually has MORE of them than any other, with far more of them being actually
good. To go even further, actual Nintendo-owned creations can actually boast of far more truly
legendary series than can anything else: Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and Star Fox, just to name a few.
So, are you talking about how many RPGs the third-party developers choose to make for Nintendo consoles? As to that, I can admit that the Nintendo 64 got the short end of the stick, but the Gamecube's lineup was nothing to spit at ... and the Super Nintendo and NES were the frickin' GODFATHERS of the entire RPG genre (in the video game industry), laying the groundwork and framing for everything else that followed. The first half of the series (and, many will argue, the better half) of the video game this message board is devoted to was all published by Nintendo. Nintendo NURTURED this genre.
I don't mean to offend, but I smell someone whose first taste of Final Fantasy-type RPGing came from the Playstation era.
Nintendo RPGs > everything else, and I suspect that the Wii will drive that point home once again.
