Are you holding 100M gil? The IRS will tax you for it, soon ...

Exactly to be blatantly honest I don't think SE gives one about gilsellers. The get rid of a gilseller thats subscription fees lost for them.

I don't believe that is true. I do believe that it is easy for SE to go after gil sellers right now, yet they are not doing it. I do not believe that there is currently any way for a private company to access tax filings of U.S. individuals.

They can if it is requested by subpeona in a class action lawsuit. It would probably be similar to the Napster lawsuit in that thousands of unsuspecting people would get fined. IGE records of who sold gil to IGE or who bought gil from IGE(but not sure if that is against ToS to buy?). I am sure gil is copyrighted therefore the sale of it would be illegal. My whole point, however, is the likely hood of any of this happening is nil.

It will never happen. For one who is going to pay a real life tax on a game that you pay a monthly fee to play. For example, you don't pay property tax on a house you rent. That is what the monthly fee is, a space rented on the server to keep all of the stuff that you were giving by the game from doing certain things. Therefore you cannot be taxed for having it unless one of two things happen, 1) you sell it for real money and declare it, or 2) the game is not charged for a monthly fee and the currency used in it is USD. I don't ever see two happening and why would you declare something that is aginst the rules of the game, I plead the fifth.
