If I'm going to weigh the pros of getting Despot stolen once with enough people up there out of ALOT of despots vs. doing sky the normal way and have to deal with constant bitching and gear whoring I'm going to take getting Despot stolen once.

I don't want to be one of those people but in all seriousness you really don't get what is so great about doing things all BST and SMN until you actually do it.

For reference... If it's the fact that your shell is fun, Matt, it's possible to find a non-allBST shell that's fun to be with in sky.

Only the job changes not the people, if your people gear whore as normal jobs, they will do so as BSTs. It just protects you from this, even if you have a full time tank that would keep the mob red for you, with an RDM and WHM.

Apparantly the mob turns yellow from hate switching pets.

For the people in our shell their is a huge difference between doing things as a NIN or a RDM and doing it as BST and SMN. Some people play a job to be in a shell, we made a shell because of a couple jobs that are our passions. I don't think you understand what are shell is about quite frankly.

A mob can go yellow and often will if I am swapping a pet and nothing else has a decent amount of hate on it. This is usually only an issue if you low-man mobs on BST and SMN. So when you have 5-6 pets on a mob it may go yellow if a pet is swapped or killed but usually another pet has some significant hate and it will remain red and focus on the other pet. This can be controlled some by timing when you leave a pet but being able to monitor that specifically is very difficult since hate is always bouncing around anyway and its near impossible to control if your pet just dies. It usually lasts for 1-2 seconds and I havent seen it happen very much during a fight on Despot, twice at most, once on average.

Obviously by using friend defense, trying to derail threads, or sticking up for people that are flamed in threads= you are trying to protect the people in the thread. IE ASSOCIATING w/ them.. Obviously you cant bring logic to a person who has none. You can bring a horse to water, but you cant make him drink. Obviously you dont get the picture that if a person does the wrong thing, and you still stick up for the person... it still doesnt make the situation right... do you understand that?

However you have to also put into perspective that most of these people enjoy being full time beasts instead of full time rdms.

Example. I dont enjoy being on blm. I have blm @ 75. I would rather be on PLD. For that reason i wouldnt want to full time blm ... Same principle w/ the bst/rdm combo.. They would rather be on BSTmaster vs RDM main

I get it, you guys are BSTs, every time JEJ goes down we get a GT thread, it's fun, and it's cool you guys can take down big shit with everyone being pretty much one job.

I'm just saying you can keep some of the same feel, while at the same time gauranteeing you keep claim. I wasn't trying to argue about what your shell is about, I was thinking of a way to not let this happen again.

This is very much the case. I have WAR and WHM. I have tried some end game normal shells and was always unhappy. Playing BST is what I enjoy. It is not for everyone, and for those that dont care about the job cant understand. But those saying we should go to a normal style of play would not make us happy. Yeah, we're mad that it got stolen. Almost all shells at some point or another have had something stolen from them as well. It is a part of the game. We are a bit more susceptible to it, but we take that risk cause we have fun in the end. But that does not mean we should sit on our hands and say, oh well I guess we had it coming. We want to point out what SE did. And it does not appear that we have over stated the situation seeing that several of their members thought it was wrong and quit over it. I think that speaks for itself.
