i like your idea pascal but i dont think it would actualy be able to work. you would have to have a large group of people get together for this and they would all have to commit to loosing money for the cause. and maybe you could to that. but in the end those people would want to gain there money back. so they will drive the price right back up. the gill sellers have the advantage here. they can buy what we sell for low and then relist it for what they're asking. in the end we get hosed

t's true recently the chinese gil sellers have been hitting the stropper chimes like karazy.. But I don't really mind them because I just see them as regular players who would camp them.

daroth people know who are gil sellers and who are not... common sense
if you make 3-4 mil in a week and dont lvl past 50 and are never seen anywhere else but camping an nm then its quite obvious. AND TEC YOU SUCK!!!!!

Which was the same problem the Fishermen had with the Fishing bots. They do not want to give up there own lucrative way of making money, to combat them. Unfortunately people cannot have it both ways. As long as there is Gil to be made on an Item. Both Normally players and Gil Sellers are going to go after it.

I would really like to see SE either make NM drops rare/ex or make the items craft-able by high levels. The originally concept behind NM drops was to reward the most dedicated players with a great item, problem now being theses items are not a reward anymore. Parties expect you to have them, thus inflating the supply and demand. Somewhere something has to give, either people must stop expecting people to have such an item, or we all start buying Gil online to have such an item.

When it comes to people training Mobs, if you make a GM call, they will investigate. I had a conversation once with a GM after I was accused of Training Goblins on a person. I took on a small group of goblins that linked into a large group of goblins. After I died, the goblins turned on the lower level guy standing there watching me and got upset when they killed him. The GM was able to see the whole event log. He told me he did not feel that I trying to kill the guy, but if they got more complains about me, that they would take action. More people need to make GM calls when they see people training Mobs on a person. If they get enough complains about the same person, they will take action.

I feel so exhausted constantly arguing on gil sellers. I don't like the gil sellers. I can't respect players who buy their gil that support their behaviour. I can't respect people who beg for money (or even just ask pure strangers). I don't like botting.

However, after reading soo soo soo soo many posts, I'm taking the complacent approach and there is no other way to deal with these guys because honestly, you're going to have to take time out of your day to do this.

1) You could camp with them and try to steal hate from them and run their NM out of the area.
2) You could go and harass them (but then a GM could be on you for that.)
3) Just let it go. Unfortunately, just like there are immoral people in the real world, immoral people in the virtual world shouldn't be too much of a surprise. They're probably voke spamming but like someone else said, I've just started to treat them like other players. If I can't get Hoo Juu the Torrent (I've lost out to him seven times now), then I just accept that I'll eventually have to try harder. Or farm for the item.

I wouldn't bother harassing them or sending them tells. Why would they talk to you? Sometimes people you ask looking for groups don't answer your tells so this could be the same attitude.

BTW, when you talk to a person who is camping a NM, even just REGULAR "LEGIT", the time they take to respond could be the time the NM pops so in the split second, they're replying to you, they could have lost out on the NM. I think it'd even be a strategy if you're trying to get the same NM. (Send a message to all the people camping, and hope it spawns while they respond....)

I think that if SE would allow NM items to be OBTAINED only once per character, then it wouldnt matter. The person camping would be able to get an item, and can sell it, use it, whatever, but wouldnt ever get the drop again regardless of how many times they killed NM. This would totaly destroy the NM botting industry, and really hurt gil sellers. I dont know, I think thats a pretty easy/simple fix.

the only way that you could get rid of gill selling and people playing the game is if square took away the auction house and made it so you couldn't trade with other players.

if you allow free trade in the game there is going to be a way that some people will drive the cost up on an item. there will be the people that just have to have the coolest item out there. and if there is a way to get that item by just shelling out real cash some will do it. the only way to ruin gill sellers is to put the economy solely in the hands of npc's. that way the cost would always remain the same. want that sniper ring? bob at the armor shop sells one a day for 100k. killed lizzy and got the drop? the shop will buy it from you at 70% the cost they sell it for.

that is the only way your going to fix it. any other idea will still have some way to manipulate the market. we just have to admit that people are greedy. we want our cake and we want to eat it too. remember the reason why those items are so expensive is because people realy want them and others will be able to charge what ever they can get that others will bare to spend.

i'm not telling you to love gill sellers, or even to embrace the idea of it. but jeez people. its almost like your complaining to the store that the knife you bought is to sharp and it cuts your fingers. there is alway a little bad when you have something good. all id does to whine about it here is push you three steps closer to a heart attack.

sorry for the long post.

Here is a story of the FFXI import players who's english isn't that great.
< > means its in a different language

<Ahhhh! I have poor equipment! I need some of the good equipment! >

Friend: <Hey, lets get a party going and camp an NM a couple times, so we all make a lot of money to buy that 1337 stuff man!>

<Ok!>

*the NM camp spot, camping for 12 hours now*

Randomdude: Yo, I saw you guys here 6 hours ago! YOU MUST BE GIL SELLERS! YOU HAVE CRAPPY GEAR! THAT PROVES YOU ARE!

Someone really ought to send the gil sellers an email with a board invite to sort this out ...

LOL. i dont think they speak/read english so well sculli. Or jpn either.

oh yes.
I dont blame the gil sellers, i blame the dumasses that pay real cash for fake, virtual, exsists only in this game and their heads money.
Virtual greed in there is getting worse than most of the really really bad shitty scams you hear about or read about from the "real world".

as for those ordelle bat trainers, ya i saw them a few days ago.
i have been going there to farm marlboro vines working up alchemy and popping the slime in the bigger room while i wait on the repops.
after watching those tards do that 3 times i went back and nabbed every bat from the bottom floor near the 2 marlboros back up to the zone. Made sure to keep them in a nice tight ball and held them at the back of the hall at zone where the slime pops. lol, right on cue they brought their bats in and i zoned.
they didnt seem to appricate my present ; ;
they wanted bats...i brought bats....
o well. some people are too hard to please i guess.

Ok went back and camped ordelles. The gil sellers were still there (now atleast 5-7 mil up) and were training hordes of bats. I grew weary and petitioned SquareEnix. The Gm told me that if the only bring 1 or 2 it is considered "a game strategy" when i said they were bring like 12 he said "that is considered training". I told him that i thought training is illegal and to which he responded "if the mobs hurt no one else but the people who provoke them its not considered training" So i said if i was to grab 4-6 stropers (not stroper chymeS) and one of the gil sellers voked it and was unable to kill it since he had a number of bats on him could i get in trouble. His answer was "Yes that would be training" and he ended his conversation. Hmmmm Lvl 45 minimum pt of 6. I think this is just out of hand. You can allow lower lvl players to train things if a higher lvl provokes its a game strategy. But if a higher lvl brings stuff and a lower lvl provokes it its considered a violation of the pol aup. Its things like these that make me want to go back to mmo's with open pvp. Well thats my 2 cents i dont have no archer rings to get some snipers and im stuck with having to farm 1mil + for mine while some japanese dudes get to just farm them for rl $. TO ANY ONE WHO BUYS GIL ONLINE YOU SERIOUSLY HAVE NO LIFE QUIT FF AND GO FIND ONE OR QUIT LIFE TO .

No one is telling your provoke spamming ass to fight all these bats.

I did the same tactic back in the day of bringing a bat in the room to fuck up you provoke spammers. While everyone jerks off with /targetnpc being borked, I whip out my boomerang and get Stroper Chyme.

To sum it up boohoo, boohoo...

Do you guys whine this much when a Dragoon has his dragon out?

If your too low and being killed by the regular mobs, then you probably shouldn't be there anyway. Go back to beechip farming if the world of NM hunting is too tough.

PS. They have a group of players camping one mob, why not get your friends and camp the mob too and split the prize. Oh yeah, most ppl think getting the NM and the drop themselves is how to make money in this game, its not. You make more money with 2-3 partners then you think you would.

Those guys are #*$&#(*& Annoying I bet them to 5 spawn in a row. Then BAM they decided to be cool and train $#$^& into the room so you can't do the npctarget macro. I have to tab through all the Crap they train and by that time 1 of the other 6 have already done that. JP's don't like them and NA's want to just well you know. These are the times I wish PVP was every were so I could just kill them. ARG ok i'm calm again. I'm just going to train everything that aggro on sight to there whm while he is healing and use hide so I lose all aggro, and all te mobs can say hello to there whm =D. I wish I was that evil ><

Ghost ur an idiot 1 bat is fine 2 is ok still but 12 wtf ur a moron if u think that im spamming voke vs. 12 bats. Ask anyone i dont spam voke im always there and i have least luck possible with nm's point being said dont let me see you in ballista.
