lol, I love your wording. I do understand... but I think it's rediculous to have to censor shit because some people are looking at this during work. It's a slightly exaggerated example, but at that rate we're a few steps from Sculli-land and not being able to say.. "Hey, Fuck you Sabs, you MPKd me." My avatar was a picture of an attractive woman in a bikini, I don't think that should be an issue.

Sabia and I (and everyone else) aren't really trying to make this place Sculli-land again. You guys can still say dirty words, you can still flame people for no reason at all, you can still question our judgement and decisions. All we ask is that there be little to no porn on this website. When someone at a library or work looks over your shoulder, they aren't looking at the words; they're looking at the pictures.

on another note, the new title isn't appropriate, the only one who brought porn into anything was westyle in the original thread. i'm sure he's very sorry for bringing /b/ into this.

If the kid next to you is reading a maxim in class do you go tell the principal? it's a mag with tons of pics just like these avatars isn't it? why isn't it banned? because it doesn't break any rules maybe.

Is it too late for me to say that the pictures/avatars of near naked women offend me a little? Being a woman I don't feel the need to objectify women more so than they already are.

I find this argument really irritating because it is in the category of double-standards. No one would complain about Ryu's avatar, saying it objectifies men. Otherwise, I'm sorry you feel that way, I'm sure they're not intending to objectify women, but merely to enjoy looking at attractive women, whom have their pictures already on the internet, therefore they feel they are not the ones responsible for objectification.

Thank you, people might think you're looking at some porn forum or something >_>

Yeah, I understand that, I was just saying, it really is along the same LINES, just not as intense or over-the-top, you know what I mean?

I think it works. Either way, it'll get attention. I'd like everyone to give some imput.

I don't understand. This doesn't apply to this situation at all.

btw, my unread messages are still at 0, i hope everyone in the thread is ok with my avatar. nobody seems to care, or at least seems to have learned.

wtf... the spellcheck picked up "ok" damn it. wth

True that. The LAST thing I want to do is alienate you guys, I love me some QCDN members. You, and everyone else, see where I'm coming from though?

Maxim is quite easily noted as NSFW outside of some plebian professional scenes. As far as i remembered NSFW stuff is supposed to be labeled as such due to numerous violations going overboard for other reasons aside from some softcore porn. As no such NSFW warning is available for avatars it makes your point somewhat moot as far as the forum goes.

It's not as if the kid at school reading maxim is forcing you to look over his shoulder. Avatars are displayed regardless and why should someone have to disable them (dunno if the option is even available) just because a handful of the board population wants to have some risque pics. Kinda weak IMO.

Yeah, I certainly do, I'm just trying to make EVERYONE see BOTH sides of the argument.

I'm pretty sure if your teacher caught your reading maxim they'd take it away.

I don't know why everyone has to make everyone elses lives such a pain in the ass. I mean, if you want to look at naked dudes/chicks put them as the background on your computer and oggle them all day. Cram your dick into a sock and goto town for all I care, only reason I care about this topic is it's making it so people can't enjoy the site in their spare time - whether it's at work or at home with the rents. Hell if you put it as your background you can view these 15 year olds in all their high res glory!

we're discussing the matter that some of these avatars aren't deemed suitable for school or workplaces, if something like maxim isn't banned from public schools, you think they'd nuke a website for a few avatars with similar content?

If we got Reeve to make a NSFW - Adult Onry forum, would you guys lay off the titty avatars?
I'd lay off em for far less.

I didn't agree to this!! I'd say cmdrfly!
I couldn't mod that for shit while at work.

Blackchaoshero said:
that wouldn't solve any of their problems really. in fact, having a forum for NSFW content only wouldn't look good at all to an admin or someone monitoring content for a school/company. that would increase the chances of having it blocked far beyond an avatar or two.
Have it in it's own separate forum section, so that it can be minimized. Everyone at work can keep it minimized, the forum section could be called something discrete like "Other". Everybody at your office is none the wiser.

I find this offensive -.- I have a gorgeous woman as my background on my laptop, and she's 19, and I certainly don't sit and oogle them all day. <_< Plus, I don't use a sock >=(

I don't know what school you came from, but that stuff wasn't allowed at mine. Kids had them hidden in bookbags and whatnot, but not out in public eye.

Well, I suppose I could give it a try if it DID happen, but my only problem is, I tend to believe in the "my way or go fuck yourself" XD

oh come on, I have a hot dude on my background and I oggle him and sometimes stroke him with my mouse.....

And you should use a sock, I"d think it'd get all over the place if you didn't >.>

What is there to mod on a forum dedicated to pron anyways? Only thing I could imagine crossing the line is Mai going into every thread with linked photos of real people who look good, and adding in his little dick-shitting-nipple touch.

edit: socks are definitely the way. If you don't, get with the times.

No. I think they'd reprimand the person looking at the site and fire them from work or take disciplinary action at a school. Precisely the reason people are complaining.

Would you want to get fired or suspended based on having my avatar displayed on a web page as someone walked by?

Yea, me either.

While i personally could give a flying fuck because i post from home i can't see why it's such a big deal to note that someone could easily be put in a compromising position by such avatars inadvertently by simply reading QCDN.
