The avatar gates in the towers in pso'xja are for the terrestrial avatars. I've been to the bottom of fenrir's, carbuncles, phoenix's, and diabolos's.. anyone know what the other 2 are?

theres 6 towers in beaucedine.

This thread has expanded past the usual discussion on whats a celestial and whats a terrestrial, if anyone remembers vanadiel history or is doing CoP currently and wants to lend information please read through the thread and post. Warning though it contains spoilers.

there are only 5 terrestrial avatar so I dont know what the other could be

Could it be allexdnrea (sp) odin (odin is in this game) odins brother (forgot name) and i cant rember all of them ><

no they Celestial Avatars odin is dark Alexander is light.

Terrestrial Avatars are have no element They are the guardian of the 5 mother crystals.

above site explains better.

though it says that odin and alexander have not been mension in story line there have been clues and easter egg thoughout the game that lead to belive that they will be added to the game at some point.

Um, only bahamut has no element of the terrestrial avatars. Carbuncle is Light, Diabolos and Fenrir are dark, and Phoenix is fire.

better example would be that terrestrial avatar are high guardians while celestrial avatar are low guardians as they are most commonly refered as They are the guardian of crystals

The terrestrial avatars are as follow:

Diabolos
Carbuncle
Fenrir
Pheonix
Bahamut

There are only 5. 3 of these are currently summonable, SE has strait up said Bahmut will not be summonable any time soon. If you follow CoP to any degree you would know that Pheonix was linked to the Empire of Art Uhgan or however you spell it, so she will most likely be in the expansion pack.

That leaves Alexander (light) and Odin (dark). Both are mentioned in game, however they are NOT terrestrial avatars. They are probaly a 3rd catagory and we may or may not see them.

Who says they gotta follow the celestial and terrestrial line?

Maybe they will make a third catagory all together and REALLY supprise people with some badass Summons, I would not mind seeing a high MP cost series of summons that are more like Envoking, like Summoning pre-10, use spell, long cast, Thing appears, bludgons the enemy about, then unsummons itself.

Save the time of what I do most of the time...

Yes they have elements. When you summon them, look at the dot next to their names. You will see their element color.

Plus, when i summon Diabolos with my Pluto's Staff he costs less. That means hes very dark.

Summoner
Currently, the trend is for summoners to only call out their avatars to use a blood pact ability, but we want to create something that will encourage summoners to keep their avatars out for longer periods of time. Also, we will adjust the abilities that avatars use so that they are based on the summoner's summoning skill. We have no plans to add Bahamut as an avatar, because we would like to preserve his powerful image. We would have to make him weaker if he became a player's avatar, and we do not want to do that. We are thinking about new avatars for Treasures of Aht Urhgan, however, so stay tuned.

Actually, from the way it is said on the PLayOnline website, the say if they had to put Bahamut into the game, he would need to be weakened thus weakening his image and they have no intentions of doing that. I think they mean they will never add him. To be honest, that bolded sentence clearly states they won't add him, but at the same time, it's also subject to change meaning they don't now but could change their minds in the future.

Double Post.

the sign in the game point to that they are following the ter and cel avatars. Ranging from how the story line go to certain quest thoughout the game.

did you know that kirin was a avatar:rtfm: in FF6 and tactic advance kirin was a summon omega and ultima has been summon in several games aswell so you see there are other summon in the game just that the only ones that will become summon will be the ter and cel series

Maybe, maaaybe not. :)

In the near east they don't worship altana, new god(s?) new avatar?

Kirin as a summon would be too awesome, a majorly toned down version ofcourse, but maybe this is tied into my love of Manticores. :|

diabolos has a dark aspect because of the reason you said Ie staff useage and power adjustment but the prime version is nightmare not dark.

Well I went down em to try and figure it out, and found Phoenix's, Carbuncles (capped 50 tower), bahamuts, fenrirs, and diabolos's (next to outpost) towers. the 6th one (nue tower) connects to the emptiness. (promy vahzl) which links to fei'yins mothercrystal. Additionally theres a shattered hallway and arena at the bottom floor (where you trade odorous knife to pop golden tongued culberry the ugg pendant NM) which has always looked promising, but which you cant get past the rubble to see the gate in. I'll try later tonight to get an area viewer so i can skip past the rubble and see if theres a gate coded back there and what avatar is on it. Other than that looks like SE didnt leave any clues behind in hieroglyphs on the walls or anything which is sad.

The Celestial avatars have virtually no tie-in to Vana'Diel. They reside in a different space-time, thier own planes of reality. The Terrestials(Fenrir, Carbuncle, Phoenix, Bahamut, and Diabolos) can, have, and will roam freely on Vana'Diel's surface, they actually live there. They've played major roles in the games history.

Odin, Alexander, Raiden, and whatever else they add in could possibly be dubbed as minor terrestial avatars, subdieties(theres a chance theres more than 1 major religion on Vana'Diel.) Or more Celestial's, which wouldn't make too much sense imo. I'd go with Subdieties personally. Or hell, they could just be very powerful characters. Afterall, if rag-tag adventurers are slaying gods(not refering to sky here), avatars, ancient wyrms, theres bound to be even more powerful normal characters around.

Omega and Ultima summons in several games? That's news to me.

Oh, and Zeromus and Exdeath are summonable in FF12, from what I've heard... doesn't make them avatars...
