I think the majority know that you should use the other spells to be a good NIN, but they are either lazy, or are too cheap.

/salute to the NIN's who use all the tools they can. :assassin:

Also too many people can't afford to level ninja but go ahead and do it anyways. I'd say thats the case with this one if she didn't even have all of her spells.
 
I can't afford it and I'm semi-leveling it right now. Only to 40; 35 now. :B However I'm putting my anniversary ring into it so that it moves faster.

Rappa and I partied with it in Kuftal, Sasaka ended up taking most of the time (he was a melee). It rarely voked, did Utsu once in a blue moon and never enfeebled to keep hate resulting in many deaths.

Edit: Also, I think nins should spend some time soloing, especially once you hit 65ish and can find plenty of EM-T mobs to solo. That teaches you the usefulness of the rest of your spell arsenal.

I agree with you about soloing, its how I best get a feel for my job at first but you know I see many low level Ninja's get PL because they dont have the patience to slowly progress on their own and maybe (gasp) learn their job properly. Many people also just want to power level themselfs to 37 and become one of the many war/nin's out there. I've seen ninja's in garledge citadel with low level gear and even missing pieces.

Tanking can be a very important job, just standing there attempting to cast shields isnt going to get it done, it is a very costly job to do properly and unfortunately doing a job half-assed isnt going to help.

Funny thing about nin.....I was 27 rng in the jungles and our nin tank said their LS <does hnms> told them that the elemental spells and others were a waste of space and gil. This was advice from level 75's to a 27 nin. Perhaps instead of bitching you might want to start teaching nins when they are lower the joy of Mbing that SC. Also alot of mages toss on enfeebles in a exp party that when a nin does try to enfeeble for hate it is just a wasted tool. Even talking to mages does not help on this point. If they are not allowed to learn how when they are working up to 75, it is stupid to expect them to know how. Lv 50 nin here and I have yet to have a rdm or whm let me use my tools for enfeebles. Double drac is not very easy if you are new to it. One mess up and your party stands a good chance of wiping. Also as one smart player said why have a nin do a rdm job. Rdm seem to kite the 2nd monster easy. Try not to judge a player by 1 or 2 parties. They could have had a bad day. I have been with this player before and had no problems, so have others. If you don't wanna play with them ^^ SE made /blist add just to keep you from inviting them. I know it saved me a few times from the amazing gotta link them all pullers, the whms that think that they are a blm, and the tanks that do not do anything to keep hate other than 2-4 provokes per battle. Perhaps this flame would have been better labeled don't ksnm after all you based it on the KSNM run that you chose to stick with even after you saw it was over the parties ablility to do. Live and learn now go have some fun. and fyi it is not that hard to get Kindred seals:old:

I honestly was afraid of this happening. Newbs/noobs being PL'd is a BAD thing. People laugh at me when I say that, but it's true because people don't learn their jobs. They just get use to a good exp flow, and when they lose the PL there is nothing they can do with their job because they didn't have to learn to hold back or learn anything about their jobs. Sometimes I just wish to cry. You know these people will get 75, and join end game shells. That is the truly astounding part of it all is that they will be doing sky shortly or HNM. I don't think they are competent into getting sea.

Agreed they take too long to cast, and do very weak if any damage at all. They were a waste of gil I can never get back.

does it count as soloing when im duoing with myself on rdm as well? i still used my ninja enfeebling magic mostly (mixed it up to cap rdm enfeebling skill)... cast faster with less mp usage :O
 
This is why you never associate with people with angel, Cloud, Sephiroth, gurl, dark, shadow, etc in their name.

Even worse, people who want a name that is taken so they add an X to the front and back. Example : Xsephirothx or anything to that effect.
 
Do Ninja even throw shuriken anymore, no one ever talks about it. I used to offhand an archer, and throw Juji shuriken and that helped keep a lot of hate until I got to the elemental wheel. And even then I still tossed them out sometimes until I got Jin.

The elemental spells are a waste in the jungles and anytime until 40. Though you can cast one to help land an enfeeb in you need to. But the others are not wastes. Blind and especially slow are useful from the moment you get them.

But When people ask about advanced jobs, I always tell them not to make Ninja or Rng their first one.

They can be a great source of hate, but the odds a Ninja has capped throwing (at least, in the midst of levelling the job) is slim to none. Shuriken + Juji Shuriken are spectacular Damage vs Delay at their level...I'm unsure of the comparison of :Ni nukes vs Manji Shuriken, unfortunately. =/

Fuma Shuriken would be an amazingly good hate tool if not for the fact that it's a very expensive, very low-result synth (costing 30-35k per synth and most likely only getting 3 or 6 shurikens out of it) - Though of course they'd be -too- good if they were easily accessible, since they are more or less like wielding a 192 delay GSword...so the synth cost is sortof understandable.
