I took 38 from a Self-Destruct off a Volcanic Bomb at 95% HP (was too close when pet was wailing on it) with Barfira (108 fire def) and no Stoneskin. So I'd hafto say it's not that useless. :wink:
Most jobs Barspells will suck, with the exceptions of Whm and Rdm. with them and merits you can resist IT ice elementals casting Parlyze, so its worths it.
