Baseball is broke: Needs a salary cap. F*** the Yankees.

You think the Redsux are going to let Pedroia get away in free agency when the time comes? Or Leonidas? I am sure they will invest to keep these home grown talents on their team.

Shit like what Minnesota does pisses me off so much. Glad you agree with me Shyrra tho i dont know what a homer-baller is... You calling me a Troy aikman??? :p

They already locked up Pedy long-term, they'll get the Yeti soon enough.

Yeah, you're a bit of a Chip Caray for sure.

"The Cleveland Indians set the bar for Yankee Stadium’s new record book Saturday, scoring 14 runs in the second inning of a 22-4 victory." Had to bring this thread up after the "Sandpaper Rape" that happened today. Money well spent.

I can't tell if that's really a wind movement effect or if the Yankees pitchin' staff needs an over haul. On the one hand if the Indians can do it, so can the Yanks (but can't seem to), on the other hand how the hell do you manage so many homers in a game, much less an inning. Throwin' all their money around, in players and a new stadium as grand as a palace, isn't shapin' up to be not to good for them after their last great run off the strategy, which happened years ago.

Though I'm not a Yankee fan, I feel a bit sorry for them right now. Well, not so much them as their true fans.

Strid honestly there is nothing wrong with the team other then Chen Ming Wang. He was the starter for that game and is coming off a season ending injury last year. We dont know what we are going to get yet.

CC Sabathia is a horrible pitcher in Arpil through out his career, believe it or not he is right on pace to mirror 07' when he won Cy Young award lol... He started just as bad.

Aj Burnett, Andy Pettitte and Joba have been just fine so far for April pitching, at times they have been more then that.

The offense is averaging 6 runs a game.. There is absolutley nothing wrong there.

The bullpen is ok so far with the exception of the kid who got his first major league appearence in that 22 run game... He gave up 8 runs there. But whos bullpen is not in question, this stuff is random year to year.

The Stadium home run shit is far too early. People are like scavengers and once they hear something negative they want to jump all over it...

Let me explain to you what Michael Kay explained to Yankee fans during yesterdays game.. There was a streak of games in 02' 04' and i think 07' where 20 home runs were hit in 4 games in yankee stadium. The old Yankee stadium. In 07' there was a perios where i think he said 28 homeruns were hit in 5 games at the old Yankee stadium. Shit happens, bad ptches lead to home runs.

Chew on this one... The Yankees are 3 games over .500.. There were not in that position until 70 games into the season last year. Anything can happen but damn that seems fine to me.

Who i feel bad for is the F'ing Mets. My girf friends a die hard fan of the Mets and is abeing realistic... They look horrid.

If you're a smart, realistic Yankees fan, you're not worried about the hitting, or the starting pitching. The two weaknesses of the Yankees are Bullpen and defense. Jeter is practically a statue out there at short now, their outfield is C+ at best, and their bullpen is very very questionable. I still believe they should move Joba back to the 8th inning, as he's struggled with maintaining his best velocity over 5, 6, 7 innings.

Yes, I'm a Boston fan, but I know about as much about the Yankees as I do about the Sawks. Boston has some glaring weaknesses as well, I'm not some retarded bias fan who screams bloody murder any time anyone praises the Yankees or criticizes the Sox.

There is nothng wrong with anything you posted here..

I would say most Yankee fans wanted Joba in the 8th and i agree with it. I do understand the idea of making Joba a starter though as he was one his entire life. Just one of those things.

As the defense is very average as of now i am not so worried about it in the long run.

With Arod coming back very soon, Teixeira and Cano to help out Jeter who is on the downside of his career.. Thats 3 potential gold glovers to help out our captain. (I know he has yet to win one but we hold Cano as high as you guys hold Pedroia, we expect one and more) Our infield will be very very good. If Posadas arm stays healthy that would be great.

As for the outfield... I think Bret Gardner is becoming quite impressive on the defensive side. (Again to compare to you guys i feel he is Elsberry like, who i am in love with, no homo) Left and right are our problems to me but hopefully the offensive numbers from the corners will phase out their defensive blunders.

The bullpen... I mean any baseball fan can see the talent is there... Can they throw strikes though?

Varas and Bruney have monster arms and can blow the ball by anyone in the 7th beyond.. But damn can they consistantly throw strikes.

Edwars potential is incredible but he has even more control issues, he has a plus changeup but cant locate the fastball to set anyone up.

Coke and Marte i dont know wtf is with them so far.

Thankfully Mo is fine so far.

Bullpen is a question for every team. Ours has the potential to be fine but i can not predict the future.

EDIT: Shyrra i feel the same way. I know my team but i make sure i know what happening in boston just as much. Besides that i am a baseball fan so i am paying attention to all teams.

Bullpen is the hardest thing for a GM to predict year-to-year, that's for sure. The 'Sox pen has been decent so far, but by the end of the year I expect them to be the best in the league, and I don't think that's too much to expect with the arms they have out there.

As for the Yankees, Gardner is definitely an excellent defensive center fielder, just not a fan of the corner pieces for the Yanks. The Pen... well, Bruney is going to be great, I think. A lot like Manny Delcarmen for the 'Sox, once he hits a stretch where he's finding the strike zone, he'll be unhittable, much like Delcarmen goes through stretches like that. 'Mo will keep doing what he did last year, but I think this is going to be his last good year, if he even pitches after this year. Edwar is a head-case, IMO... he just doesn't seem to have the mental make-up. If he's up 5 runs, he seems unhittable, but in a close game he seems to break down. Just my observation. Marte... well, he seems to be in a funk right now, much like Wang, except without the excuse of "coming off injury" to fall back on. As for the rest of their 'pen, I haven't had a chance to watch too many of 'em throw this year, yet. Been busy with schoolwork since the season started :(

Jose Veras is similar to Kyle Farnworth in terms of how nasty his stuff is. He is no where near Kyle in terms of mental breakdown though. Veras just sometimes cant throw a strike. The example is he pitched 3.1 innings in yesterdays extra inning game. Did not give a single hit and had 4 strike outs with only 1 walk... His next outing i am expecting 4 walks..

I can see that Edwar descripton easily.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. Personally, I wouldn't blow off losses to Kansas City, much less fuckin' Baltimore even if you're sittin' 3 past 500. a whopin' 19 games in. Also, it's a damn good thing they're scorin' an avg. of six runs a game because their pitchin' staff is givin' up just as much (5.9 vs. 5.8). Though it is early, they still have plenty of time to make their face up to those of us who are not their fans. If you're happy with them, that's really all that matters, but don't try to make me happy for them, as a big budget team, they're no better than the Cowboys this early on. Like I just said though, it is early. Hell, I'm a tough critic though. Show me a billion dollar player/team, I'll show you a billion dollar flaw.

As for the wind issue, call me crazy, but 14 of 20 don't go to out of right field for no good reason. You may not be concerned but your Yankees' staff is. To early to tell for sure? Absolutely. Fun to ponder on? You betcha, I'm more intrigued than anything about this situation and it has little to do with the game.

It's not at all that I hate the Yankees, I'm a damn baseball fan. They just happened to come up. If you'd like me to balance it out, I could go on a fuckin' tride and true tear about how the Braves come out of Spring Tranin' on fire and kill over already.

Fuck the Mets, all the way to the bank. If there is one team in all of baseball I love to see suffer it's the Mets. I wonder why ;)
