Seriously. Pulling hate as a MNK/WHM is an incredibly difficult thing to do. So why does it happen? Paladins, you're not being cool subbing Ninja. You're not doing anything subbing Ninja. You're damage sucks. Now it sucks twice as much. Good job TP feeding. Get a shield. Sub War. Do your job.

Ninjas... You already have warrior subbed, USE it. We're eventually going to lose because of the lacking tank performance. When people with non-super strong combos and people who are weakened are becoming the ireful targets, theres an issue.

If it's not on you, just provoke anyway. Even if it happens to be on another tank, atleast it won't be on a mage or a melee.

I'd rather lose because everyone gave it thier all than lose because no one wants to do thier jobs.

Then invite mages? a billion shout for invites beforehand. Make your own party of LS members.

Yeah besieged is hell for A Thf cause of this. Its hard enough trying to lineup for sneak attak with the lag and with trick attack so far only working on alliance members you gotta pray youre line up with through the lag. On top of that thf have to deal with the monsters walking around like theyre training for a marathon.
Seriously just voke the damn things it makes it alot easier for everyone else to hit em.

Edit: a lv 27 Whm was able to keep me alive in the last besieged and you dont have exp loss so just stop making excuses. esp if youre a nin tank. at least pld have the i need to have enough hp to survive a few hits excuse when weakened from raise

i died from too much sidewinder spam

A MNK also has access to a lot more accuracy than PLDs and NINs do. With as much accuracy as I can get AND sushi, I still have crappy accuracy against Mamool especially. No damage = no hate. Voke only pulls so much, and I get Warcry once every 5 minutes. If you find yourself tanking too much, disengage or turn around. BLMs need to nuke more if anything, I see 30 people trying to melee a THF Mamool down with maybe 10% accuracy, and 6 BLMs just standing around doing nothing.

Hmm

Like Deci said, most people don't want to voke unless they have a proper setup up support. And I can't blame them. In that lag, you'd be lucky if they can target you fast enough.

And on that note, if your a Mnk, try to remember, that your Job was an "Intended Tank" when SE designed it, and honestly, if your fighting undead, your gonna tank if ya like it or not. (>.^')

But, if you don't wanna die in besieged, one of two things would do: Go as a Mage and heal NPCs, or get people together ahead of time that you know and trust and work together for a common goal. I know it can be tough for some people... But nothing is free, us running around like headless chickens with seekflags up isn't doing anything for the cause.

Not takin a pop shot, just givin a reminder of what they designed it as, a team event! b(^-^')

Oh, and set your HP in the zone... you can HP for no Exp loss. Granted your reward will suffer, but planning ahead will get you the best of everything.

1) Homepoint is set in zone. But I almost died right at the end of the Mamool Ja besiege because of no one tkaing the initiative to tank.

2) You actually can no longer set your homepoint there.

Again, Tanks should invite people they know and can depend on to heal them if they want to go to besiege as a tanking job.

While we're on the subject, here's a ProTip from the mages. STAY TOGETHER. If 3 people decide to all go do their own thing in three different quadrants of the map and then announce they are blinded while the white mage is 3 blocks away curing someone, don't expect any sympathy. Haha. We don't wanna run all over creation saving you because you wanna Leeroy Jenkins the place.

Can't set your hp in the zone anymore. I'm on the side of the tanks need to at least TRY to tank. It's not hard to be in a group or to just grab a mage who can cure bomb them; there's so many people shouting for groups that the tank really has no excuse for not being able to get some kind of support.

Well yeah

Well yeah, thats a givin, the old fashoned ideal, "Omg, someone's in trouble!! I'll save youuuu!!" <Voke>, is rarely seen lol. While I can see some one going out of their way to help someone in need, you answered the problem same as me, plan ahead and get a balanced PT goin. But then don't run to the zone and watch your PT run off to the other side of the map and still attack the Bones. Common sense there (one would hope), but I don't see this as a tank problem in and of itself, I see it as bad planning, and then someone says "Zomgorz, I'm dead you stupid (insert: Pld, whm, rdm, pebble on the ground)!"

Which I don't think is fair, They recently started working the bugs out of the deal when they allowed open claims, but I won't blame the Pld thats meleeing the same mobe as 2 Nins, and other Pld, a Mnk, and a Rdm, with his seek falg up, for not voking said mob. He'd be stupid. Thus we return to the whole problem at hand: "Piss poor planning on your part does not nessesarily consitute and emergency on mine." An old saying from the 80's that rings true in everything mis-managaged. Heroism is alittle tough as a lone Pld or a tank with no mages, who is there for essentially one thing, Exp and ISP's.

I mean wow, if were havin trouble with these with 200-600+ people in the zone now, I dare not think whats gonna happen 5 months down the road when the whole thing looses it's novalty. Were gonna get run the hell over cause of the simple issues. ::Shutter::

Look, I'm not deffending some arogant, selfish Pld/Nin thats out there skillin up or simeply to get his points and go home, I'm only saying, don't expect them to help you without you helping in return with support and backup. ^-^ Runnin through the Dunes with a gob on ya is one thing, a possible 65+ mob in a lagged ass city, on your own, for the sake of someone thats gonna die in 2 mins after you get owned, well needless to say, I can see their side in that situation.

But I can see the melee/DD side aswell, but there's nothing they can do for ya in there if your not doing something yourself. And unless you would hop up and run out on 2 mins notice to Exp with people you may have never spoken to before with no camp, planning, or real forethought to the PT, well your gonna get what comes at ya. Sad, but true. ^-^

Teamwork people! Teamwork and planning!

PS: When the hell did they change the HP thing? In yesterdays update? I must have missed the memo! >.>

I run around, voke as much as I can, do as much tanking as I can without significant support.... but I won't die for you in Besieged. Sorry. You're pulling too much hate, disengage, hell pick another mob, and wait for whoever is theoretically tanking to get it back. Party situation is chaotic as hell, lag is horrific, and having the entire alliance get scattered all over Al Zahbi at the start isn't the most fun thing in the world when 90 seconds of concentrated attention from one of those mobs can kill even a reasonably decent PLD.

Yeah, yesterday(monday) during the update that was one of the things they changed. The idea was to lower the amount of people in Al zahbi since some of the 700+ people that are there during besieged are afk. They also changed the bazaar system there to have the 10% tax like in whitegate to stop bazaar farms.

"Fhegs" and "Double Fhegs". Yet another way we find to get around their shitty programing, and like a 6 year old, they take the toy back. These fucktards couldn't program their way outta BASIC. Pathetic. I'm suddenly reminded of the "Diary of an IT service tech" I read years ago about unplugging the server long enough to make a pot of coffie. Or sending all tech calls to the janitor's office. Fuckin mirrior like image here. Wonder if that guy working at PoL or SE...

PS: if anyone knows the Addy for that site, let me know! lol

Actually, I like the changes they made. There are a bunch of people who just afk in Al Zahbi for bazaaring or just because they're not there. That's adding probably over a hundred people who aren't even participating in the fight but are causing some lag from just being in the zone. I dont think that they should have had a HP in Al Zahbi to begin with, because it would cause the problem with lag but they're fixing it.

I'm sure that's at least half the reason they did it...

For the record, has anyone confirmed that you can't zone into Al Zahbi during Besieged? Seemed likely, but I honestly don't know if anyone has tried yet. o_O

You couldn't afk and farm IS/EXP anyway. If you do nothing you get that as your reward.

You have to come in through mog house.

There's so little organization in Besieged, that I would never expect a tank to try and save me. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if no tank even saw me load on the screen. Besieged is just several hundred people trying to tag as many mobs as they can to get points and exp. I know when I go in, my plan is just to throw out thundaga III's , and hope to survive the repercussions long enough to get a reward at the end. If I take a mob or two down, all the better. I don't think I've killed a mob yet though. Actually, my spells seem gimped on Besieged mobs. SE must want to discourage manaburning them, so my agas kinda suck.

You can zone into al Zabib after besigged from the wojaoam side at least. I was late for a besieged once and got in fine from there.

Last night I had to take over for Osse during the troll besieged, and after I accidentally homepointed to Whitegate (didn't realize his homepoint was there, heh) I had no trouble zoning back into Al Zhabi through the normal entrance right in the middle of Besieged. That may have been because I was in-zone when the cutscene began, however.

As for the tanking situation. . . well, let me just say that I spent 75% of my time during besieged in a weakened state. After that first death where I homepointed I just started putting Reraise up as soon as I was able, and kept fighting while weakened. It was actually kinda fun busting out a Thundaga 3 on whatever I could because I knew I'd be dying soon anyway. It wasn't fun when I got hate from a Shock and died because noone else seemed to be interested in getting a mob off me. Ah well, all it really cost me was time I could have spent blasting more trolls.
