Best Buy BS.

Alright first let me start this flame/rant off by saying i know NOTHING about computers. If you use computer talk around me i will stand there with a confused monkey look on my face and i'll be scratching my ass.

So I'll start from the begining.

I got this computer about 1 year ago and it worked fine and i didn't have any problems. Then some people got me into ffxi and i ended up waiting 5 months to play the game due to not having a visa and then getting a video card installed.

Now that's when things started to go wrong... I got best buy to install my video card.(which took like a week for a 30 min installation.) I got my computer back from getting the card installed and about a week after that i found out they BROKE my CD drive. But i didn't care for a few months cause hey i just got ffxi and i wanted to Fucking play.

So after a while i decided to get the cd drive repaired. Now this took 3 god damn weeks. i know that i have to wait for it to get shiped and w/e but i didn't even brake the damn thing.

So anyway after those 3 weeks i got my computer back and noticed it was running slower and i got more lag in ffxi. but again i didn't care(that and i thought i was breaking it).

So ever since best buy installed my vid card i have had to give my computer to best buy about every 6 weeks for 2 weeks. But 2 weeks ago my hard drive finally gave up and now it needed to be replaced(the people at best buy were shocked it was so damaged ). So they told me that i needed to wait a week for my warrenty to switch over from the makers of the computer to best buy warrenty. then they told me that it would only take a day for the new hard drive to be installed and and get it back up and running.....

that was a week ago. So yesterday i called them to ask wtf is going on and i got this
"i'm not the person working on the computer. So i don't know what to tell you"
I replyed with
"can't you just look it up"
"No, cause then that would be easy and i would have to take my head out of my ass" (He said something else but thats what i heard)

Anyway i get a call today with them telling me my computer is ready. Now i'm all happy and shit cause i had garrison and a cool ls race event i wanted to go to. So i go down there to pick it up and they tell me that they didn't install windows on the computer, that i would have to pay 200 dollars to get the special ultra super duper copy of windows XP, and then wait 3 weeks for shipment and installation. I was thinking something along the lines of "FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKING JACKASS. This is why i have warrenty". I ended up getting my mom to go in there for me and tell them to pull their heads out of their asses and fix the damn thing. (trust me my mom is more scary then me).

So yeah i was about to have a friend fix it but due to something family retardedness, I know have my computer stuck at besy buy AGAIN.

I would just like to add FCUK YOU BEST BUY.

That may be the worse case of customer service I've ever heard about from Best Buy.

First mistake, you should of taken it back right away to get taken care of.

That's a lie, i worked for BB for a year. The BB warenty if you buy it with your computer (the extended warrenty) overrides the factory warrenty. Also they took WAAAY to long to switch your vid card. that shit is usually dont in a couple hrs. I think your female and um.. no computer knowledge set off a flag and they were just shitty to you. sorry you had a bad experence with BB. Its actually the only electronics store i like and thats after working there lol. Yes a lot of the employees are dumb asses, you can find good ones though if you look hard enough.

I saw a 512 mb ram upgrade there earlier this week for $159. Now, online, I can get a gig of ram for around $80.

Thats why it should never buy computer on any local stores, because they may toss the box like is nothing and they may damage the hardware moving in and out of the places.

Always get them over the interset and have them directly ship to your house

Spend the extra couple hundred bucks and buy from local retailers. My computer store hooks me up, and keeps me up and running. When shit goes wrong I just bring it in, the guy troubleshoots it in between customers then gives me a quick diagnosis.

I ran a major electronics store and I'll let you know now, I could've gave a fuck about the customers problem. I defused them, let them know I was shipping it to repair, gave em a smile and sent them on their way.

If they called me bitching, I gave them the repair center center number, let them know I was on their side and things were ok.

When the product finally came in, "Don't worry, I talked to the regional manager and we're going to make sure that repair center gets on top of things" and sent them on their way.

In simple terms, the store doesn't deal with repairs, pass the hate to someone else, and the customers are on your side.

At a local store, the repairmen tend to either work in store, or be local people who have contracted work through small businesses in the area and have close contact with them.

That's untrue, I worked for bestbuy for a year, and I can assure you they they don't work on commission... However, I will say that unfortunately, Your experience is pretty typical of how employees handle their customers.. and the above reason is why. No incentive. I worked there for a year at Low ass pay, and finally left because there was no incentive to work harder for the lame-ass managers.

Sorry you had to learn it the hard way. Get a buddy who knows their shit to do it. itll be Faster, and usually work better. =/

Unless you know someone who works there, the employee discounts are... amazing..

If you don't know anyone that works there, 2nd best alternative - eBay.
