I'm seconding that call for bullshit.

This is the kind of behavior I expect out of a 18 year old E-1. MAYBE an E-2 or 3. But not out of any rank that begins with an 'O.'

Personally, if anybody under my command even hinted at acting in such a fashion, I'd have them watching snowflakes at Thule AB Greenland faster than they could say the phrase "Remote TDY."

ive known served with many 21 year-old O1s... how do you think they act?

btw, remote tdy is only navy only, the army does not use this term. so yeah you fail. nice try though

Actually, Remote TDY is a term the USAF uses as well. I know because I'm on one right now. Though, we like to use the term AEF.

And speaking of right now, I can walk down the hall, and get a hold of about 12 different 0-1's under the age of 21 who would be more than happy to show you how professionalism and military bearing works.

so tell me, how do they act?

I'm going to go out on a limb and 'somewhat' speak for him. But the phrase 'with a little professionalism' comes to mind.

If, or if not, you are an Lt (or any rank for that matter) you would have been fine if you never mentioned your rank/affiliation. None would be the wiser, and we would have moved on from there. There are expectations that are demanded of us. To snap over some kid playing out his little fantasy of pushing you to the brink makes me (and others) seriously question your ability to make sound decisions not only in combat, but in the office.

Now, I have no clue who you really are. I've never been under your command nor will I ever be as I'm a completely different branch and I'll be damned before I have an Army Lt as my Flight Commander. I say all this in open generality and using avid blanket statements to make myself feel all sorts of self-important and pious.

We're human. I'll give it that. We're all entitled to have our little buttons. But the UCMJ (in a round about way) says we can't be human. There have been numerous times where I wanted to rip an airmans head clean off his body, or punch a civilian dead in the face. Or, more subtly, yell at someone who rubbed me the wrong way and make a total ass of myself. But I don't. Because it goes against professionalism and keeping a clean self-image. Granted, everyone is entitled to their view of the military and those serving. And I could care less if you like us or hate us. But we don't need to go around shooting ourselves in the foot when a simple /blist (or even just logging out) would have sufficed.

In the long run, I'm going to suggest a trip to the Chaplain's office. And possibly Life Skills.

Before my friend went to Iraq a couple years ago some friends gathered up and drove down. We kicked it with about 20 or so Marines, we went to TJ, some of them didn't have the proper clearance. This included some officers, not sure how high up though.

Anyways, to the point, we all got drunk and got a bunch of $20 hookers. You can sing that professionalism all you want, but they still 18-25 year olds who like a good time.

There isn't a mold of person that joins the military, there are too many people needed. I'm sure the AF is happy with kids who go home at 8pm so they can be up for work the next day and have a clear head, but Marines and Army come in actual contact with the enemy and takes a different character. Usually more aggressive, in your face type of guys.

and you wouldn't be offended if someone tells you to go die in your plane? you would just accept it? do you have no pride?

you know what? you don't use the UCMJ to play ffxi or in real life. this is not the armed forces.
outside of the armed forces i don't see what's wrong with having emotion. you are a person after all. you're basically telling him to swallow whatever pride he has and to always take it in the ass right? lmao. flaming on qcdn is way different from ripping someone's head off. i'd rather him flame on qcdn that to take it out on some poor sap in real life.

lol thats why im an officer and youre enlisted because you cant tell the difference between game and real life. when you can tell the difference, then maybe you too will be able to make some important desicions. theres no where under ucmj that says you cant start a flame for someone pissing you off. wow.

So basically you think it's ok for you to be a jerk in game, because it's simply a game. And then no one in game, is allowed to call you a jerk, because it's... just a game? Well isn't calling you a jerk, part of the game world too? It seems to me as if you're the one who doesn't completely seperate fiction from reality.

calling someone a jerk is different from telling him to go die when he's fighting in iraq for the country they in.

HAHAHA! you're a 1LT! army can make fun of army ^^;

Quite different, but i'm only commenting on the small % of the thread I've read and the flaws in the arguments I've seen.

eh.. i'm lost. who were you replying too?
there were like 2 different arguments going on, one about faytajr telling E to die and one about how E acts on the boards shouldn't reflect how he is in real life.

i agree with E. if you in the mind focus that every officer conducts themself that ettiquette in their personal off time, in thier own home, then you sir have a problem and a mis-conception of the military.

on a side note, i'm in the military too E, but i not tell you my rank hehe >_>

Damn Eternal....I've lost any respect I may have had for you if I had any at that. I'm really dissapointed at how your carrying yourself. Since its true that your supposed to "lead by example", I sure feel bad for those who work under you. I know alot of people who play this game who are kids still in school who are more mature than you bud. I'm not saying your a 'bad' person but you really cant go and think that just cause your in the military you'll get special treatment and your behavior will be excused.

Had you not pulled out the "I'm a officer in the military" card, and just let me think you were some immature kid, I would have had alot more respect for you. I'm not trying to say all this to talk trash to you, cause as many know, I'm not normally one to post on the flameboards. I'm just trying to give you some advice and a little slap of reality. People like us who are in the military have to hold our selves to a higher standard, cause whether you know it or not, people do look up to. That isnt to say that were 'better' than anyone else in anyway. Everybody are equals, and everyone all do their own part in socieity.

1. Where does he say he's enlisted? Unless I'm mistaken, I would say he was an offier, and probably higher than you, becuase of this line.
Personally, if anybody under my command even hinted at acting in such a fashion, I'd have them watching snowflakes at Thule AB Greenland faster than they could say the phrase "Remote TDY."

2. As for the UCMJ, I think article 133 might be applicable

where under article 133 does it saying flaming someone on a flameboard is "conduct unbecoming an officer"?

GTFO of here. You know nothing of how i treat and take care of every soldier that works under me. 2 deployments, no casualties. so stfu. you have no right to comment on how i take care of my soldier.

Didn't you know?

Everyone has to act exactly as their expected to act in society on the FB these days. God forbid anyone kick their feet up and relax or show their ass once in a while. :nono:

OMG YOUR IN THE MILITARY HOW DARE YOU BE AN IRREVERANT ASSHOLE ON THE INTERNET.

Some of you people need to take a fucking pill; all of the random useless crap that you could pick out of this thread and you wanna jump eternal for being a turd on the internet by questioning his service?

Grow half the sack it takes to fill out enlistment papers and holler back.

Don't get me wrong, it's a stretch, but isn't 133 for when an Officer is making an ass of himself, such as hanging with prostitues or getting drunk in public? I think the gist of is that an officer is a leader of men/women. This isn't just when your on duty, because how you act reflects on the Army at all times.

I really just have to know why you have more respect for an immature child than you have for an immature soldier.

It's rediculous to hold them to different standards. I mean... before he was a soldier, he was an immature kid. Why expect any more from him because he's been trained to protect his country?

Title does NOT dictate behavoir. Holding him to higher standards for being a soldier is rediculous.
