25k an hour?

Are you cerial?

Plausible in bhaflau thickets if the wars had ridills, monks had BBs, rdm knew how to manage mp, and brd knew how to pull well.

And@ceram, ridill wars > every other DD job, and will take less dmg than monks too :O

It goes kinda like this: ridill war > BB monk > uber nin > uber war = uber monk > nin = war = mnk, imo at least.

6 DRGs. ^^

Well, it'd be interesting to try, anyway.

I've done this, and it's not too terribly bad, find the right camp you can pull in nice exp, But, anything with damaging AoE is bad, so that rules out most ToAU camps. Bibiki Bay on dhalmels(Yea, you think it's bad, i know) May actually be damn good for a 6 DRG set up, or 5 DRG and a BRD.

fixed

Prenerf RNG in front of all that. Now, i'll go back to sitting on the bench with the DRGs and PLDs with flag up ; ;

I actually wish I could party with the Pre-nerf RNGs with how my WAR is now :/ /fluxcapacitorgo

My favourite merit party setup would be:

1: nin/war or war/nin
2: nin/war or war/nin or mnk/nin
3: nin/war or war/nin or mnk/nin
4: brd/nin
5: brd/whm or whm
6: rdm

Most of all, a good party requires 6 respectable players who cooperate, know their shit and pay attention to the party.

Drk x 6 cannon go

Six BRD/NIN. Ultimate setup.

I haven't done it, but I hear DDx3, cor, brd, rdm or whm kicks ass.

In most cases mentioned DD are interchangable so I mention the Ideal forms to fill in DD slots usually instead of a set pt example.

10-20 rng thf or sam in shakrami & kor tunnel with a mage that has barstonera rng spams we thf spams acids and sam just shoots.

20-30 ninja that SPAMS shuriken.(I once did this for a bit. it's so hard to lose hate with +raacc gear its ridiulous. forgot to voke half the time and the thing was still glued to me)
Gaxe war/mnk /nin= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdKIHxTMNDs
WHM (duh)
thf/mnk w h2h in quifim levels. ( I used to exp on wights ona regular basis. those things are only hard if your mages dont think to stay out of aoe range. having a mnk or thf/mnk helps) Thf/anything decent till 30
brd once ballad comes in or a cor.
rdm or DD.

30-40
Everything is weak to peircing and finding an open camp for peircing cannon is reasonably open if you dont go to only garbage shitadel and being a thf I'm kinda biased so...
NIN or PLD
THF
THF
DRG or SAMwith polearm
RDM for dispel or whm for erase
BRD

NIN is 1st voke. THF A SATA's DRG THF B immediately satas NIN. rinse repeat
DRG can open distortion for MB by the rdm.
Cor can replace the drg or brd if he's informed about sata timers 5-10 secs in advance to move into position. if pld is in group brd>cor thanks to ballad for pld rdm or whm.
Bibiki bay, behemoths dominion, ect are examples of areas for peircing cannons.

All ninja in PT 10-36 are assumed to have capped parry because capped parry is insane and generally by the time you got ninja you have to have been attaked enough times to get some parry skillups. It allowed me to solo tank in my ninja before NI. I'm fairly certain I'd have died horribly without it on my ninja considering the pt I got rammed into.
40-50
Ninja just get ridiculous at this point srry pld but its true.
DD
DD
COR
rdm
brd

Gaxe wars, sam, nin, thf all count as the best dd in this

Alternate setup is
NIN
THF
THF
NIN or WAR
RDM
RDM
2x rdm means all dd can be hasted at the end of this, mp issues are non existent, double MB on all Skillchains, staggered converts ect.
At level 48-50 everything mostly becomes t-vt making for an easy way to have a fun replica of a lv 75 cannon if you know the right spots. Generally after the room is cleared youre inhibited by fear that a repop might happen if you pull from an adjacent room or you can just get mages to rest to full but with the eva rate most nin have there you probably wont need to..
Was the most fun exp I had the first two times I went through and probably fastest

50-60
Sorry drg but these were the levels when DRG got a bad name as far as exp went for me. Too many gimps running around in AF that gives crap stats. It was ridiculous. If I Know youre great I'd invite but otherwise....

SAM/RNG when sidewinder is availiable
NIN or PLD
THF(yeah I'm probably biased)
War/NIN finally makes actual sense as far as its boosts are concerned.
classic rdm coupled with cor or brd

60-70
Nothin really stands out different from other levels to me. blah blah we get a light sc that people no longer try to use thanks to ws spam.
70-75 WS spam hooooooooos!
lufaise peircing cannon with reya and co. was the most fun I had in a pt in a long time simply because i didnt have amnesia to screw with my timing. took me a bit to get used to being able to ws when I wanted to. I got royally beaten in damage but it's just more inspiration to get my ass back into sky and get my hecta and merits ect. tanigreth. In your experience how did I rate as a completely unmerited DD vs 2 (probably) fully merited DD in that pt if you still remember it? Now that I've found an assault LS I can finally get into an assault with ex gear that benefits me as a player..

Oh and ridill war will kick the ass out of anything. so all dd unless in lufaise(25%+ to all non peircing weaps) are replacable by ridill wars. (blink tanks arent very good there either vs abraxas. If a ninja gets owned there then a war/nin is dead in 3 seconds.

DD applicable for 70-75 pt
COR
NIN
MNK
THF(only if organized)
WAR
good DRG(i've parsed a good drg before. the damage they can do if theyre good is ridiculous but only when they know what theyre doing)

All people involved at any level are assumed to know what theyre doing and have appropriate gear.
mnk are always acceptable unless the strat calls for peircing only. I always like the guys before they became popular.

drk 10-60 aren't exactly my favorite choice because they NEVER want to sub war when in as pt with a thf for first voke. The only one that didn't die because they were too stupid to have voke for me to sata the tank and not them was the only one I was trying to kill coincidentally.(whm must have been good. pld left because the guy was spamming souleater[in emo macro] and positioned himself so that the pld had to lineup for sata physically behind a wall which was of course impossible.)
cant say anything bad about em from 60+ but then again I've not pted with em really too much after the rampant drk death or bad experiences. The only good drk I've met pre 60 was mistra.

Theoretical 75 pt.
war/nin (tank)
THF/war
Best DD for the job
COR warriors roll+ rogues roll
WHM
BRD.

Never got the chance to try that last setup but it sounds like fun.

All examples listed are taken from personal experience unless stated otherwise.

Ridill warrior ≠ Merited/Properly equipped Ridill warior. There's some godawful ones out there, putting on a Ridill by itself doesn't make a warrior godly in the damage department. Same goes with BB monk, although there aren't as many Blackbelt monks that can be beaten out by Uber Brownbelt monks, because most of them have the merits and other gear.

Pld/nin won't be tanking that party, and will do less damage than a pld/war would. Double Attack + Berserk > Dual Wield II for damage hands down. I won't merit with a pld/nin, if I party with a pld they're gonna be voking and tanking the first half of the fight so the real DD's can focus on dealing damage instead of keeping shadows up. Drg/whm is only worth it if there's a lot of AoE, which isn't an ideal camp to begin with.

THF/NIN is {Too weak} if you have a BRD in the party, and even more weak if you are pulling a mob that attacks slow and rarely hits you on the pull. THF/WAR, that is great.

Actually though I was in a party last night that kicked ass.

SAM/THF
THF/NIN
NIN/WAR
WHM/SMN
BRD/WHM
BST/NIN

2x SATA WS and the mobs where over 3/4ths dead from the start of the fight. Usually they had just enough life left for us to TP back up to start the next fight the same way. This was a 63-64 party on Colibre. Fucking awsome.

Any combination of 4 high-end melee, a bard, and a healer works.

Preferably a WHM in the healer position... (I'm a WHM D: )
