Been looking at systems, I don't play too many games so not looking for anything very intense. Thoughts?
i5-3570K Processor (4x 3.40GHz/6MB L3 Cache) - Intel Core i5-3570K )
8 GB [4 GB X2] DDR3-1600 Memory
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti - 2GB
I'm going to warn against the 650ti. As for why, I have two reasons. First being the numbering system, in the case you don't know how that works: It's the 6th generation "50 model" (650), the significance being that Nvidia's 50 models are budget cards, not actually cards better than those of the 5th generation. For example, the 560ti is a much better card than the 650ti, with generally comparable prices, as are some of the 4xx models. Second, I have a GTX 670 FTW model (so it uses the same parts as the top tier 680 down to the PCB). FFXIV doesn't tax it, but it runs it through its paces pretty damn good. I don't see a 50 model card doing any sort of justice to this game at all, however, I'll look in to that for you as I have been surprised before by the 550ti. I have a friend with a spare 550ti Turbo (which the 650 isn't much better than save for power consumption) that I can borrow and toss in my machine and see how it goes. I'll get back with you on this.
The processor is great, but I don't like how unspecific you are on the memory. From my experience people who do not list a brand and such for the memory think "memory is memory." Less you want to be in my position, where my CPU doesn't fully utilize my memory, which creates a bottleneck (the only unfortunate byproduct of using the AMD Phenom II x64 Blacks). It's still worth it, but with an Intel you don't have to worry about this if you just choose the right memory. Typically, but you'll have to research your MB and CPU charts to see, GSKill brands go hand in hand with Intel CPUs and are tuned to run at max potential.
If you bought the CE for v.1.0 SE is allowing those players to download the special edition FFXIV:ARR for free. So we,re going to get the extra perks that others have'nt.
What's the difference between the 660 and a 660 Ti?
And motherboard, Gigabyte GA-Z77-HD3 any good? Or the GA-Z77X-D3H? lol
Hmm, from what I read in reviews, the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H fully supports i5 and i7 *shrug* But I'd rather take your word lol
