Atleast you aren't like me, where I found out two days ago that I could have been playing the beta for a whole month! ;; Found out when checking the SE beta site, that I had been added to the beta July 12th, I just missed the email cause it was in my bulk folder ._. Boy did I feel stupid, lol

If you're desperate, FilePlanet is giving away beta keys. What they require is you subscribe to them (which you can unsubscribe after you get the key), but they are out of them atm and will restock tomorrow morning. I do believe it's for NA only, though.

You can also download the FFXIVsetup file for free so you can have it already downloaded if you do get a key!

I think that they upped it where you can't do a monthly subscription anymore, now it's Quarterly which costs like $14. And it appears they only have like 20-30keys a day, which is not a lot at all. I was following it on Eorzeapedia and they are literally gone in like 20 seconds whenever the window opens. It had been opening at 1pm PST, but I think that also was randomized and changed yesterday too. So you basically have to sit on the page with "GET KEY NOW" on it and keep trying. Doesn't seem worth it to me tbh.

*But, I WOULD download the beta client downloader on the site. Downloading the beta has been a VERY slow process for me. It's at 95% right now, but I've been running it for 2 days. It's a P2P client (I think that's what it was called) which causes you to get insanely slow DL speeds. You can do port fowarding on it (I had never heard of that, but Twinblake got it to work for him and had it downloaded much faster than mine, but I was unable to get mine to work on a college campus). If you want to try port fowarding, use the site www.portfoward.com. Then use CTRL+F to find your router's name (NETGEAR, etc) and click on that. Skip the advertisement by clicking the top right then you want to search for Final Fantasy XI. Follow all the steps for that, but then don't do the FFXI codes. Instead you'd do these:

55296-55551 UDP Port
54992-55551 TCP Port
443-443 UDP Port
