Beta testing

I just got my beta invite this morning. My fiancé is laughing his head off that I quit XI yesterday to free up time and BOOM! Beta.
 
Is anyone else having trouble getting into the beta test page? More specifically, the EU one?

Edit: To be even more specific:

Yes. There's two different pages you need to log into. First the "Square Enix Account Management System" which is located in a little tab if you scroll down on the left. After, find your way back to the original log in. Both login pages look similar so if you're not reading the page you won't realize it.

Once you're logged into the account management system, when you log into the regular login screen you'll see it went through.

If you hit a sign that says maintenance, you made it! Bittersweet.

Aha! Made it! Thanks. That's one hell of a cluster f*ck just to log into the beta site though >_>
 
Just like in the benchmark, the beta is shutting down due to windows having a problem. I have to look into it.
 
This looks like FFXI with better graphics. Like 100% identical ...I'm a little disappointed.
 
So It looks like i'm in the beta :) Hope to see some familiar faces.

Bah, missed another round of beta invites.

I'm starting to loathe the whole concept of limited-invite betas. I've never been invited to a single one.
 
Aha! I've finally figured out why my PC won't run the benchmark thanks to the Beta download. I apparently don't have Vista Service Pack 2 installed!

Oh goodie!!! ¬_¬

Edit:

Beta crashes on startup. What else can I do? I've updated my Graphics card drivers, updated to service pack 2, what do I need to do?!

Here's the details on the card which I updated yesterday from dxdiag, maybe you'll know more than me about this >_>

The graphics card seems a bit dated, from some quick research. It may be on the low-scale of what the game needs, then again, there could be vista compatibility issues as well. Hard to say, really.

I didn't get in this round of beta invites, boo.

The visual styling is pretty similar, aye, but that was rather to be expected.

Gameplay, at least in the alpha, was vastly different though.
 
Gerry, that graphics card is a dinosaur compared to what the game ask for. The very slot it sits in has been phased out for years.

The game is as different as night and day apparently.

Just like Gerry, I'm having the same problem. A lot of people are. Hopping it's fixed soon.

Then I officially cannot run this until I can get an upgrade. Well, time to upgrade! Hopefully I'll have more control over what goes into it this time.
 
Upgrade or not, people on official forums are complaining non stop about the black box of death. Where's Chasym? He might have the answer.

Beta is running SO MUCH BETTER for me than the Alpha.

Edit: Except for when it's not, sadly. Ah well. They have time to improve yet.
