Bioshock

I have been harvesting the little sisters. Pretty creepy when you do that shit. You pick her up and then she screams the screen goes like a puke green then you see some black slug looking thing in your hand. You get about 200 adam from harvesting them.

One of the really nice features in this game is the camera research of enemies and how it improves the damage you do to enemies.
 
Best line in game for me so far was "The ice man commeth baby. The iceman F***in commeth!" Hahahahaha that made me start crying. And wtf i am playing the game further in and all of a sudden How much is that doggy in the window starts to play... Am now an official big daddy pwner, can take em down in seconds sometimes lol.
 
I'm loving the game so far. It'll probably take me forever to get through it because I'm exploring every inch of the areas and admiring all the details.

I'm killing the little sisters for this first round. I figure the second play-through, when I have a better idea of what I'm doing and what to expect, will be the time for the challenge of letting them live.
 
well if you let them live, after a few saves youll get a gift usually consisting of first aid, money and 200 more adam to add to the 100 you just got.
and yeah the iceman part was hilarious.
jsut finished the masterpiece part a little bit ago and must say that was one creepy ride into getting all that. wonder what you gotta do to get into cohens chest?
 
Ya wtf with the chest... I killed him after he opened the other prize for me. I thought i did at least, i never found his body. Maybe he ran;;
 
I think I'm going to pick this up after work. My brother is gonna be pissed, because he uses our 360 to play ffxi, but whatever, he can remake all his macros on my computer.
 
I guess I'm the only person way unimpressed with this game? I'd rather take another play through Redneck Rampage honestly.
 
Well everyone has an opinion strid. Should we attack you? lol jk... But what do you not like about it? The game improved as i went along, and to start was already amazing to me. The city is beautifull and well constructed. The ai is pretty incredible. The wow factor for me is choice... You get to choose how you do just about everything. There are corny corny parts in some other games were you come along a Rocket Launcher set very obvious so you CANT miss it, the next scene played out in the game is some cheesy omg thanks god i just found that rocket launcher scene. Bioshock lets you create with every battle. I dont think it will work in other games simply because of their settings, Rapture is a perfect place for this. A city were science and art control life. The first time i layed the electric wire down a whole hall way, placed a decoy dummy at the end with 2 proximity mines... Hit Big Daddy with rage and watched him run through electic wire after my decoy eventually blowing the freak up at the end just to be frozen and picked off by me after;;; Man the game has great experienced but it will not be for everyone. Sorry you dont enjoy it Strid;;
 
Ok, i got it last night, and played for a few hours.

I like the game, but it has yet to "wow" me. The only things I have really been impressed with were Rapture (when you were in the sub in the beginning) and that first boss, Dr. Stein-something. Watching him operate on that chick and then completely eviscerate her was awesome.

It sucks that you have to stop moving to move your thumb to the d-pad to change bullets when you run out. I wish it would just automatically switch to the next type of bullet. Kind of annoying.

I like fighting the Big Daddies, although I have yet to find the "trick" to doing it. Every time I fight one, it usually costs all of my first aid kits.

The weapons/powers/picture taking for bonuses stuff. I hate hate hate hate hate the "hack" minigame that you have to do every single time you find a new machine. It was fun the first few times, but now I find it tedious and annoying. I can see a separate hack every time you take over a camera or turret, but having to do it for every vending machines/u-invents/etc is annoying as balls.

I've been saving the daughters. I killed the first one, but I've been saving them since. I haven't had any problems with Adam yet, though its still early.

I dunno, little annoyances aside, the game is pretty good so far. hopefully it'll get even better as I continue through it.
 
Don't waste your time with first aid kits on big daddys early in the game. Until you get a patern down just let them kill you because they don't heal. Just respawn at a vita chamber and go back in there. The hack minigame can be annoying but it is rediculously easy the more and more you do it.

The minigame isn't difficult at all, I just find having to do it over and over again tiresome.
 
Shit my first big daddy fight went horribly long because I just didn't wanna change weapons for some reason. I kept hacking away at him with the wrench. The wrench does so little damage it was such a waste of time.

That must have taken forever. Was there an "Achievement" for doing that?

I usually open with bolt shells from my shotgun, and then switch to various armor piercing rounds. I just got the chemical gun, but I haven't tried it out on a Daddy yet.
 
No there wasn't that I know of. There is an achievement for only using the wrench and plasmids but I am going to do that on my second go through. Napalm is great on Big Daddys. When you get the cross bow you will start really owning Big Daddys.

Is there a rifle-type weapon in this game. Like for sniping from a distance?

Also, what weapons have you been upgrading? I've only been to one Power to the People station so far, and I did my machine gun damage. The upgrade + the damage bonuses from taking pictures has made splicers pretty easy to mow through.
 
I have upgraded the shotgun, grenade launcher, and the chemical weapon so far. The cross bow is the closest to long range you will get. The pistol, shotgun, machine gun, grenade launcher, chemical weapon, and cross bow are the weapons you can upgrade so I am guessing that is all you get.

I am playing through on hard difficulty so I can't comment on the other difficulties but I know the further you get the harder the splicers are even when researched. Research is a must if you want to take advantage of them. My suggestion is take pictures of the enemies until you get a message saying quality too low no picture taken.
 
Just finished the game, since I'm on vacation and have nothing to do but play play play... It was very good. Time to start on that second run-through without harvesting...
 
Try going through only using plasmids and the wrench for the achievement. Sounds a little crazy but I am definately going to give it a try.

It's not that I hate it. I'm just unimpressed. The graphics and city are badass but to me, that doesn't do much for a game.
