Bioshock

Yeah same here... first one it random'd me to was the Splicer Cylone or whatever, where it planted a little tornado on the ground and as soon as a Splicer walked over it he'd get jettisoned to the roof and die from the falling damage.

Which is funny as hell to watch when you're expecting it to make them stick to one spot...

Machine gun was a hella good piece after the upgrades, though I only did the dmg upgrade for crossbow. The shotgun and pistol were off the freakin hook and definitely my favorites once upgraded. The pistol grows a big freakin tumour on the side and can shoot 24 rounds before reloading, while the shotgun can be triggered at the same rate of fire as the pistol. If there was a magazine upgrade for the shotgun, I'd never need another weapon again.

The chemical thrower was a little disappointing. Would've been nice to see some different materials... you can already incinerate & freeze by plasmids, why have it on weapons? The electric gas was awesome though even though it's just an extended electroshock plasmid. Would've been sweet to see the CT with an oil canister (make your own puddles to light on fire with a side effect of slowing down splicers) and some kind of anti-Adam gas that mutated splicers even more as they walked through it, making them less accurate or less damaging or something while dealing DoT.

If you have a decent PC rig, it still gonna be a better experience.

In this release the console version beats the PC version for this reason only.

Apparently you can only install the game twice from the disk before its anti-piracy program denies you. I swear that if mmo's take off on consoles I may simple stop playing PC games.

Will not take long for someone to hack it and be able to skip that activation part of installing. Just hate that PC games are going the direction of a few activations and invalid. Its about the only thing that can kill games on PC and make consol games win over PC.

Anyway, my and my causin picked up the game the other day, unfortanly, a video card wasn't one of the parts I upgraded. So I had to order a BFG 8800 from newegg and watch my causin play it while I wait.

At first after reading reviews, I was consered at the no penalty at death, and how shock and wrench can make any enemy easy. I soon realized that you can go threw it the easy way, using most efficent weapon/combo, or you can go threw using everything you have in what ever fun way you can think of.

Find it funny that 360 is $60 and PC is $50.

It gets alot harder then just the good old one two punch, like when you have to shoot a normal enemy 3 times in the face with exploding buckshot just to take them down - .-, no penalty at death was kinda lame though

no penalty at death was kinda lame though

Yeah, that kinda bugged me as well. There's no punishment for failure. It's impossible to lose this game. Any time something is too hard, you just respawn five feet away, and find the unhealed monster you were just fighting.

Its fun as hell, but I feel like a six year old playing it.

There was some penalty... you always respawn with 50% health and 50% eve. So if you died with full eve you lose half of it.

It ain't much of a loss but it's something.

This too bug'd me, after a while i didn't even use weapons, just the Fireballs. I found HaXOrinz sorta fun but more of a challenge then the main game. :3 Took me roughly 6-9 hours to beat it, barely 2 days (including school, work and meriting).

the game was cool, but way too short.. especially for $60.

I rented that beast. Oh yea, is there more then 1 ending? Tho the one I got seemed nice, it left me.... wanting more..

Depending on which path you did there would have to be another ending. I did the good path, and it was fairly obvious how the game would change if i hadn't done the good.

Oh snap! A reason to play it again!

Bad ending = kill all Little Sisters?

I can't even remember the ending I got after taking down the final boss...

Yeah there is definately a good and bad ending. I have done the bad one and am about to do the good one now. I live games that actually give you a reason to play them more than once.

I honestly have no idea how people can beat this game in 10 hours. It took my like a week and a half of decent play time to beat this.

No game that can be beaten in 10 hours deserves a higher rating than Ocarina of Time.

Seriously this stuff has to die...

So I got my PC rig up and running and tried out Bioshock. It's a good game, no complaints. I think I'd have enjoyed it more if it wasn't so hyped. I was expecting something to blow my mind completely. Certainly worth the $50 pricetag but I could have waited to upgrade my PC for Crysis like I'd been planning.

My biggest complaint is that the only controller input they accept is the Xbox 360 controller. That is absolutely retarded. I obviously have no 360, that's why I'm playing on my fucking PC.

Also I must say the graphics aren't all that. My PC rig with DVI out into my TV via HDMI with an expensive new video card... nothing special compared to an average PS3 game.

It's definately a solid shooter though. If you're a shooter fan, which I am, go ahead and get it. If you don't like shooters, this isn't so insanely good that you'll like this.
