Blind Dates

On my last blind date, I was the Mayor of my town, but this girl was so stupid that she bought it lol I originally said it as a joke, but she believed me so I went with it.

And the Hero award goes tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~!

Nice lol.

Best I've been is a very important military man. My missions were secret, so I couldn't talk about them. Naturally this proved a beneficial fib, even if it wasn't exactly true. ;)

i'm not really a guy for blind dates, while not being that exciting myself i am kinda picky about the girls i date, i dont like partiers or smokers (its gross to kiss a girl who smokes and that shit gives me really bad migranes) or ditzy girls

my way of dating is kinda like getting to know a girl, talking alot and then watching a movie/cuddling, thats how i get down

I met my current girlfriend by taking a shot of tequila with her then proceeding to bum a cigarette off her, and i never met her, now were at 5 months.

Crazy how those things work out.

lol i did my 3rd cousin too (well she did me....) but we were aware about the relationship degree and decided that 3rd cousin was a good compromise :D, the curious things is that our 2 branches of the family never got in touch since over than 20 years and we met on the net on a online videogame, i did mistake to put my email (name.surname@domain) and she recognized the surname (not a common one).
That's.... oddly arousing Clar :ph34r:

My blind date was through my brothers then girlfriend. We emailed for a few day, and he gave me his number pretty much on the first email he sent to me. And no, there were no pictures. So we talked and decided to go out and play pool, something I had never done up until that point. So he checked out my ass, helped me play pool, and talked in the car with me until my dad starting flashing the outside lights at me to come in. (Yeah, that was embarrassing >_>) He called me the next day and we were together for three years after that.

About three weeks after our three year anniversary he broke up with me, obviously breaking my heart. We kind of rebounded during Christmas break (I had been in Hawaii for school), and then around Valentines day I said 'Fuck it' and stopped calling him and tried to move on. Forward three months later when I get home I get a drunk call from him and I think 'shit, he knows I'm in town now.' So he invites me over to his house and we start drinking. Yes, drinking with you ex, and drinking a lot with you ex will lead to um, how to put this, a romp in the sack. Or shower. Whichever visual you prefer. We don't talk for another week after that and then hang out as much as we could. And we've been together ever since, and it's been so much better than it was before it's almost unbelievable.

I don't like blind dates, I'm way too picky. Like someone else mentioned, I refuse to date smokers, as an example. Its disgusting making out with smokers. Sure, when I'm drunk that works, but its disgusting while not under the influence of alcohol... And I don't think a relationship would work very well if one person were constantly drunk in order to put up with the other person.

Blind dates are normally set up by people that know you and the other person. The biggest problem with them is that when your friends feel that you need help getting a date, it's typically for one of three types of people:

1 - A shy person, that doesn't do well with the other sex.
2 - A person that's just got out of a relationship and they feel you need to be dating again.
3 - A person that has issues that makes them virtually undate-able.

Type 1 people are good for blind dates, type 2 sometimes can be good for a blind date, and type 3 are only good if their date is insanely desperate or is also a type 3, which typically leaves them very desperate as well. The problem is that people that set up blind dates typically don't look at these types of things, they just see two lonely friends that look like they could work out, or one friend that is desperate and another that is single.

I've never known of a blind date that turned into a serious relationship, and my best blind date was with the best friend of a chick I had the hots for.

I know for a fact that I'm type 1. I get very nervous around girls that I like. No one has felt the need to set me up on a blind date though. My brother is working on hooking me with someone but its not really a blind date. I know who she is and talked to her very little so I don't really consider that a blind date. I just have to get over my shyness and talk to her.

I agree with those that mentioned about getting to know somone first. I'm the same way. I like to know what I'm getting into. Plus once I know someone I'm less shy, therefore when that first date comes around, it won't be so nerve racking for me.

Shortened your quote to point out that you're missing out on two very enjoyable qualities.

I met my wife on a blind date. I talked to her a few times over the phone beforehand, but not face to face.

I always enjoyed first encounters and first dates, you get to tell all your crazy stories to them that are old to all your friends. Blind dates on the other hand aren't always that enjoyable.

If the girl's overweight (and by overweight I don't mean 120 pounds >_>), smokes, or drinks (I could probably deal with somewhat casual drinking) I really don't want anything to do with her. If I'm going to be working out every day I'd like to at least be dating a girl who is concerned for her health.

Call me shallow, but at least I know why I'm single.

But drinking is so great.

not when thats all they do =/

i'm sorry lol but that shits just not attractive to me

Well, of course dating a lush would suck.

I meant a regular, "I like having fun," person.

My parents got divorced mostly over alcohol and my father since quit drinking. Everyone in my family drinks, and I'm proud to say I've been sober my whole life. I don't need any altering substances to have a good time.

smoking= no thanks

drinking=mehish sure

i hate the smell of smoking so much and i live in the Tobacco Land where every hot girl smokes (Tennessee)
