BLM in dalamtica lol. That's exactly what I thought of when when I said "gimped BLM". Gotta love the mdb. And when you stack it with -enmity, it makes you a pimp crappy BLM.

You don't wear it for nuking smart guy. Do you have any idea when and why a blm would consider wearing Dalmatica?

It isn't a piece that makes or breaks a Blm, or a piece you would spend all that time in Aery to get for a Blm. But, for instance, I have a Bard to wear the Dalmatica and would get it for that job. While having said piece, which is a Pimp item, I would wear it on my Blm. Thus when you say "Gimp Blm's in Aery" I retaliate with a bunch of Pimp items a Blm can use, including Dalmatica, which has more to offer than a Blackcloak. Do you get it yet?

I find it funny that you have the nerve to call Dalmatica wearing Blm's Gimp but yet buying a Blackcloak is non-Gimp. I also find it funny you say we waste our time in Aery helping our linkshells, how long did you waste your time in salvage helping yourself? And to finish off, you don't need to ever set foot in Aery to get a Dalmatica. Anymore wise comments Lord PuP?

Is Errant better than the +15 Elemental skill from AF?

With Dark Arts it pushes elemental magic to B+ at 256. With merits it then goes to 268 which is more than enough to not get resisted on anything except HNMs and Gods, In that case it would be better to use AF body. Though another way of getting around this is to only nuke when you AoE Klimaform and Weather to compensate for the ele skill and just stack on Errants and the mad INT for some dmg.

SCH has to be played differently than BLM at Gods and HNMs since they do not have access to the INT and ele skill a BLM can get. It is still a great job none the less and can be put in the tank melee or blm party and do extremely well.

Why would you say this? You only need 320 elemental + 120 INT or straight 330 elemental skill to nuke HNM's with above average accuracy.

I admit that I have never killed a HNM because of the lame drops for mages, But I have done JoL too many times to say that 320 skill + 120 INT is definitely the best way to go if there are no SCs to MB on, but if there is a darkness or distortion sc it is fine to nuke in full MAB and INT. Out of 7 Blizzard 4s only one will be resisted. On my BLM I have 329 skill and 137 INT.

A tip on JoL is to ignore his elemental weaknesses and just nuke w/ Blizzard taking advantage of the skill and INT on Aquilo's staff. The only gear that changes when nuking a regular mob and Gods as my BLM/RDM is that you equip Elemental Torque and AF Hands. This puts you at 329 if you nuke w/ Aquilo's and have max ele merits. I also ditch the sorcs ring for a Snow Ring(actually has a use). Also don't be afraid of the +1 melons and their awesome INT

You are the one to bring dalmatica to be a reason to camp the Aery as BLM, not me. And no dalmatica is not pimped. Same for AF2 body. It doesn't offer anything more than Blackcloak. And tbh AF1(+1)hat + Igkira body is worse than blackcloak(+1). Meditate this.

Scholar gets 256 Ele Skill at 75 with just Dark Arts. The AF body gives +15 Elemental Skill when Dark Arts is up pushing that to 271, which as 269 is A- means they have just over an A- in skill then.

Also 8 Ele skill merits will give 16 skill not 12 so thats 287 skill with full merits and nuking in AF body if i've done the maths right.

Going with this, it saves more than 1 inventory space. If it's a good piece for different uses for say: SMN, BRD, BLM, RDM, and RDM, SMN and BRD would each use different pieces, it saves not one, but FOUR inventory slots.

This was a debate about BLM though, not RDM I admit, its great for RDM. I used to want that body for my RDM. Doesn't change the fact I'm not that interested in its uses for BLM.

Yes, but you still see Taru BLM's running around with it Only Elvaan and Galka need it as a HP > MP convert piece for Sorcerer's Ring really, the other races (taru especially) can rather easily hit it without the use of Dalmatica.

SMN by itself won't get a lot of benefit out of Dalmatica. The only thing they get is Auto Refresh, but you'll gimp yourself by not using Ying Yang body, which is an easily attainable piece, that is not only better, its also easier to get and cheaper.

Sure, BRD can get a use out of it, as can RDM and BLM, but it is quite honestly not worth the price tag for a BLM, when you can easily get a body piece with Auto Refresh (BLM AF2), or a -HP set for Sorcerer's Ring (except Elvaan and Galka). Once again, it is a good piece for RDM, and a situational decent piece for BRD, but I thought this thread was about BLM?
