Blm gear help!

Neither is adaberk. Neither is dalmatica. Neither is mbody. Neither is wbody. Neither is ridill. What's your point?

No one piece is. But to achieve ultimate builds you'll need bits and pieces from all facets of the game. As little improvement as Salvage can give me, I still want it for the fact it situationally can improve me slightly. It really doesn't matter where you start, all facets of the game are needed to be complete, none are totally exclusive to giving a complete set.

Caerloc's the closest in this thread to being a complete player, as he's actively doing every facet of the game to obtain the gear needed to outfit his jobs.

I can't answer on Nyett's behalf, but I can see where he's coming from. Morrigan's isn't gamebreaking, but he holds no jealousy as he's obtained quite a bit in other facets of the game. He still wants it, but holds no jealousy because he doesn't have it yet, as its an endless circle of things to obtain in different areas. Everyone will defend the places they obtain their gear the most.

being "Jealous" must be directed towards your Morrigan equipment.

Your were the one to bring morrigan gear in the discussion presumably because I felt superior.

Morrigan's Head: Int+4, MAcc+5 vs
AF1+1: Int+5
AF2: skill+10
So your head may have a bit of accuracy over AF+1 but has less Int. Besides this, as you admit yourself, nothing compares to the AF2. Would I or any other blm be jealous of your head? NO.

First, this is slightly worse than AF2 head. Why ? Int+4 theoretically adds 2 macc, so that's actually 7 mac + 4 int. Second, drain, aspir, stun macro. Not lolturban.

Morrigan's Hands: MAB+5, MAcc+5 vs
Zenith: MAB+5
AF1: skill+15
AF1+1: skill+15 Int+3
So your hands have MAcc over zenith. But for anything with resists, pale in comparison with even just AF1, not to mention AF1+1. MAB+5 means nothing if you are getting resisted up the ass. Would I or any other blm be jealous of your hands? NO.
Best gloves for BLM imo. Aside from being superior to A:gloves, you can equip them for you enfeebling macro : sleep, gravoty, bind etc.

Morrigan's Feet: Int+3
Yigit Feet: Int+3 MAB+2
Yigit are better, hell even rostrum pumps are better for the fastcast. Would I or any other blm be jealous of your feet? Maybe for stoneskin lol but ummm seriously, NO.
Don't even compare it to rostrum pumps. This piece alone gives nothing more than yigit. However it's good for stoneskin macro.

Morrigan's Body: MAB+5 Int+8
Genie Weskit: MAB+7 skill+6 Conserve mp i will ignore.
The whole trick between these two is Int+8 vs MAB+2 and skill+6. As a taru with a high base int, I would not sacrifice skill+6 for int on high resist mobs. Frankly if a few int were found to be so dam important bards would give us etude+balladII, they don't. With skill aside, factoring in the damage difference between MAB+2 and int+8, the difference isn't mind blowing...but thats just max damage, which means nothing if your getting resisted like crazy. So would I be jealous of your body? NO. Its cool to see cause its rare for now, but still the answer is NO.

There is no reason to buy Genie Weskit since this gear exists. You don't lose alot of accuracy. INT8 translate into 4 mac which in turn translate into more than 4 skill, accuracy wise. In the end you are losing 1 or 2 accuracy which you can't notice. But yeah .. enjoy your A body. For your govern, damage wise, it's like having mab+9. And it's more beneficial since it helps exceeding the target's INT, at which point the damage formula changes, and the benefit of MAB/INT is doubled.

Morrigan's Legs: Int+10
Mahatma Slops: Int+8
I saved this for last cause, unless your using AF2 legs for day bonus, Morrigan legs are better for the majority of the nuking. This I will give you, int+2 better.

Situtionnal gear need to be kicked from your invo if you have space trouble. If not buy Demon helmet+1.

This is when I ask you for the 3rd time, do you have Novio and Herald's Gaiter's?
I feel sorry for all the noobs that help you get your TOY and got nothing in return.

Your gear is not better compared to a blm with a Novio, not to mention one with Novio and Gaiters. ..

Seriously ..

Mp and -enmity are important and weren't even considered in this post.
This is not important and has been explained many times. +MP gear is useless for BLM except when you solo w/o merits. Enmity is not important either but if you like it that much, morrigan offers both +mp and -enmity.

Edit: forgot to mention if you wear the whole morrigan set you get MAB+5. Still not a Novio but regardless you would lose skill+25 from af2 hat and af1 hands, MAB+2 from yigit feet and I'm sure more but you get the point. Only a complete moron would do this.

You lose 25 skill but not the corresponding accuracy. There is a stupid formula according to which 1skill=1macc (thus 1 mac=1.1 skill..), but in reality mac is all the better than your base skill is high (tests say ~1.2 at 310 skill). Head (+4.5 mac compared to AF+1), body (-1 mac compared to HQ weskit ..), gloves (-9 mac compared to AF+1), legs (+1 mac compared to mahatma) for a total of ... -4.5 macc compared to the gear you seem to use (if you don't trust the 1 macc=1.2 skill and go for 1 mac=1.1111 skill, you lose -9 mac).

And no I wouldn't use Full morrigan on Your "very challenging HNM", everyone and their mother has AF+1 loves and AF2 hat anyway.. Plus I'll remind you that you pretended not to use AF2 head because of the leet -5 enmity...

NQ cerb is not the best melee cape in the game, lol. Forager's mantle is half the price and superior (+3attack) to NQ cerb.

Except the whole pointing of synthing cerberus is hoping to get HQ. If we were looking for NQ we'd have stopped considering everyone in the ls has one by now..

I honestly dont know why any DD would want a cerberus mantle anything. (i guess maybe besides THF?) Then +enmity scares the shit out of me.

lol its not really that big a deal. Personally on drk, I'm usually always /nin in merits and other stuff, I can tank for a few seconds if it comes down to it. But outside of merits in any big fights, tanks can easily keep hate.

I have +6 enmity atm on drk and I run into no problems ;P

I ditched Amemit+1 for Cerb mainly because my NIN gets use out of it and it saves me 1 space. I am saddened a bit by the loss of 3 attack from Foragers though, but I am hoping to get a +1 someday. Not going to hold out for it any time soon, but still, something for me to shoot for.

I dont know, I die almost everytime in limbus(even /NIN) and find myself wanting to switch out my Homam hands for my dusk gloves for that exact reason more times then not, even though I want to keep them on for the other stats. Only difference is, I have both and will always have both. Foragers > NQ cerb obviously from a DD perspective, and I dont see myself ever wanting to upgrade foragers to cerb +1 for +1 STR and +4 enmity. Maybe its just preference at that point.

Lavi, yeh, that sounds like a good idea.

Just would like to point out that in low resist situations (i.e. exp) nothing beats the entire set. Even in medium resist situations, I think it'd be pretty ignorant to say you'd use weskit over Morrigan's. It's definitely the superior damage piece and 6 skill isn't going to make a huge difference either way >_>. In super-high resist situations that justify an INT set, Morrigan's robe is nice because it doubles (triples) as a high INT piece, refresh, and MAB as a plus, too. This combined with the MND on it for stoneskin basically makes it a fulltime piece. It's silly that you're trying to devalue it when, in reality, it (and other salvage pieces) stomp the fuck out of most things you can get from HNMs.

This I totally agree with it. I would like to bring the point of elemental seal although it is like once in every 10 mins.

Don't see what you're trying to prove here, but no, s/he doesn't. I'd also like to add that gaiters aren't nearly as good as you're making them out to be here, unless they go to someone who can use them well. When soloing sea, limbus, etc. 12% movement is amazing, but I doubt everyone who gets gaiters (or even a tenth of the people who do) use them for this purpose. In my experience, the people who get gaiters are always johnny WHM /BLM who thinks it'd be cool to run to the aery 12% faster.

Hmm this I do not really agree. If you have a herald's gaiter, you will be wearing it on BLM 90% of the time.(does not have to be soloing) The only time when you do not wear it is when you are nuking or enfeebling. So I will would say it is good for soloing and convenient only. Personally, I like the idea to be running around fast <.<

And to Nyett, If you really like to bring in elemental skill so much, you have forgetten one piece Nashira Crackows. There is the druid slops too but pale in comparison to morrigan slops.

I'd like to thank all the Blm's that have shared their thoughts here, I've read through this and seen alot of interesting thoughts shared here as well as equipment choices. :)

Ya its personal preference.

I kinda like tanking every now and then so i don't mind 6 enmity ;P

I really can't agree with this more.

Stomp the fuck? I see you took my devalue and raised me an exaggeration.... Gear from HNM's yes but from the entire game, no.

My post was on a personal level. For the things I do and compared to the gear I already have, I personally find Morrigan's to be a mediocre improvement. I'm not saying don't do salvage, hell I do salvage but as I said:

If your goals ingame are Limbus and nuking puddings than maybe its better than I am implying here.

For zero resist things sure, I wouldn't spend 8 mil on the body alone just to nuke a few damage higher than my friends on puddings. Its just not worth it to me and frankly kind of silly. On anything with even a chance of resisting I'd take Genie weskit still for the bit of skill while putting on AF1+1 hat, prudence torque/Ugg. pendant and zenith mitts instead of the skill gear I had listed. I'd rather get zero resists and outdamage people over time than to spike nuke a few points higher while getting resisted more often. But thats just me and is in no way against how other people play.

Don't see what you're trying to prove here, but no, s/he doesn't.

My entire post was about how there is no way in hell I am jealous of Pchan's gear, nothing more. Jamal seems to be the only person to have caught this, thankyou sir. In all honesly I have my eye on Morrigan's legs and hands but in no way jealous of people who have them. AF2 and mahatma legs, AF1+1 hands and zenith suit me just fine.

I'd also like to add that gaiters aren't nearly as good as you're making them out to be here

Go get yourself a pair and then come back and say this. Gaiters saves me the most important thing......time. I would give away My Novio before I would give away my Gaiters.

johnny WHM /BLM who thinks it'd be cool to run to the aery 12% faster.

Johnny anyone can run to the Aery 12% faster as long as they have the new expansion. Just don't get aggro. I do like how you try to belittle Gaiters after accusing me of belittling Morrigan's, made me smile. Absolutely nothing can take the place of Gaiters in a battle situation, nothing.

I appologize for all the edits, I pretty much haven't slept all week (night shift).

It's only 6 skill.

Most people who get gaiters don't realize how helpful it is to outrun 95% of the games' mobs in solo/duo/trio situations. I have striders on my THF, and don't get me wrong, it's nice to run places slightly faster, but gaiters have a whole different dimension to them if used properly.

Agreed.

Sometimes its all you need. Can also say Morrigan's is only a few int, its all a matter of taste.

This is like telling a soldier that his gun is just a toy. I bet if you had Novio and/or Gaiters your opinion would change from a toy piece to essential gear. And you calling the people in my ls noobs is gut bustingly funny, my garbage men wouldn't pick you up if left by the curb... which would be illegal in my nice area.

So you don't take take morrigan robe because it's too small damage increase, silly, but instead, buy Genie weskit for millions while the benefit from it is way less than morrigan body; I don't understand. 6 skill is Smallish in the first place, basically it means you can nuke a mob with +1 level for the same accuracy. And like I said the accuracy difference between the Genie weskit and Morrigan body is of the order of 1-2 accuracy which you won't notice in anyway. Plus AF2 head+ Mor body clearly offers more than AF+1 hat + genie body, check the stats even if you ignore the accuracy from INT, and AF2 head has got -enmity.

Morrigan's is triple the price, don't you remember buying it? And the benefit is situational and miniscule for my needs so as I said, no thanks.

and AF2 head has got -enmity.

I thought -enmity was crap for blm. You call a stat useless and then use it as leverage, get your stories straight.

NQ cerb is not the best melee cape in the game, lol. Forager's mantle is half the price and superior (+3attack) to NQ cerb.

Why on earth would you think we do it for NQ's? Nq's are pocketchange. We've gotten somewhat over 25 HQ's so far. And unless you find a better melee cape then 4str and 15 atk, i would like to see it. It's also by far the most superior cape for Tiamat tanks with +12 fire and +4 enmity.

(Unfortunately like 10 left the game already, but thats beside the point.)

And there's something that's obligating you to wear the NQ? Sell them, buy foragers; problem solved.

If my Wars, Nins, Drks, Mnks etc etc cant tank things like Cerb, Faf or pretty much w/e, you can rest assured they wont get to put their equip to use much. You guys fear the enmity of the piece, i welcome it as a boost to my melee's capabilitys. If there is a PLD present, the melee's wont pull hate either way, unless your name is Fygla or Zeroenna. And if their is no PLD present i expect all my melees to be able to tank.

25 hqs? Isn't it a t0? And I was more speaking towards the people I see running around in what I know is an LS cerb mantle -- nq.

...tyrath.

You guys fear the enmity of the piece...
Why'd you quote me and say this? I never said anything about the enmity on it >_>
