BLM Merits

It only increases when you actually MB. Thus I did all 6. I choose flexibility over rare omgwtfdmg.

One nice thing about having all AM2 is on fights where you just go balls to the wall and manafont>gonuts is that in one manafont you can get off 4 AM2 and still have a time to spare on one or two more tierIV's I'm pretty sure. That's a hell of a lot of damage you can dish out on proto-omega, proto-ultima, lolbesieged, etc.

I only say lolbesieged because with revitalizer, wizard's drink, and a few of those elixers, you can get your 1k points in a matter of like 3 minutes easily. Maybe less. I haven't actually tested it, but it's retardedly easy.

I did Elemental magic -> Potencys -> Enmity -> Int -> AMII -> MP
Always felt that the number one upgrade should be skill then potency, and after that you can pretty much do what you want.

however meriting and AM2 to cap increase accuracy ( it sux to be resisted on am2).

As a taru Id do hp over mp, for sorc. ring, survivability, etc. There is so much gear out there to convert hp into mp, and it's easy to get ahold of. You get the perk of it being nice for other jobs as well.

I wouldn't merit Conserve MP.

And also, I went 2 Enfeebling, 6 Elemental magic, because I knew I was gonna level my RDM and I'd rather have sleep have a better chance of sticking when I solo.

What exactly would you use AM2 on outside MB that resists it heavily? MB itself gives a dramatic boost to accuracy, much more than the 2nd and 3rd upgrade. If you're not hitting a MB, then you're better off using IV's 95% of the time.

I went all 6 AM2 myself because I use them for solo. Temenos East I 2 hour the first elemental, it's nice not having to use Aero IV, Water IV, or Thunder III with manafont up.

The 1st thing I did when I started meriting was buy Burst II and Freeze II. I then capped my potency for Thunder and then for Ice and moved on to Elemental Magic. I've been working on capping it, and have tossed a few merits into MP and -enmity as well since those help not only my BLM but all the mage jobs I'm currently leveling as well. I'm a taru but I still see MP as having more merit value than meriting HP. As a mage if I'm getting smacked around a few extra hp isn't going to make much difference, but extra MP could mean the difference between death and getting off that last spell to slay the nasty critter that's trying to turn me into Tarutaru Patte.

As for AM2 I have 4 of the 6 spells and am still trying to decide if I'll purchase Quake II and Flood II or if I'll improve Burst II and Freeze II once each. More often than not AM2 aren't resisted, but it really sucks seeing a Burst II be resisted and do damage on par with Thunder III so perhaps the additional +5 Magic Accuracy would almost eliminate the few resists I usually see.

Just bust out w/ burst and freeze maxed, it will go well w/ thunder and ice merits. plus it works even better w/ light and dark scs you do on hnms/kings/limbus/dynamis/etc
