Blm's have one of the easiest jobs, how can they still suck?

When I got whm to 32 I couldn't afford erase for shit.. 300k.. when I got 20k I thought I was rich. I had to quest for utsusemi and sell it to be able to afford this which I got at lv40-42ish.

I was able to get my first 3 teles at lv38ish cause they were fairly easy to obtain solo. Tele Yhoat and Vahzl I died many times and had to beg for help constantly. I remember gettin vahzl.. wandering aimlessly around the glacier trying to find fei yen until someone helps me find it. Then a BST helps me get a key cause I was going to raise him. Then later a couple of people help me find the chest. .. Things are not easy in this game for newer players. You cant do BCNMs solo (except the lv50 and BST with a lot of hi pots can solo lv20). I never had many friends on and still dont... well not very very good friends.

I cant imagine playing FFXI without having access to internet somewhere.

I remember getting my teleport scrolls. My static party who I level with even today, the same people who helped me through bcnm also got my scrolls for me. Since I was the "Reya Bus" /cry Four of us dedicated ourselves to going out and questing for my teleport scrolls. I remember recieving 3 scrolls from the samurai in our static which I later redid the quests and returned the money (who had a higher lvl character than the static at the time) By level 50 I bought Yhoat and Vahzl. Never bought them before because I never really went to these areas until about 50+.

I miss my static... Only me and the paladin now.. been together since lvl 10... our Red Mage sometimes comes on to level with us. Our black mage quit the game as well as our samurai and our dark knight quit for a very long time but is just coming back again

Very lucky to of been able to be with so many good friends for so long :) Ya'll need to come back ></)

well maybe not the samurai since he is my ex irl >_>;

<_<; and he still has my Shadow Hearts Game....

and I'll kick his butt >_>;

Great post Fire. And I'm wondering why the OP is saying that BLM(in particular) is such an easy job. Granted... it's not rocket science, but none of the jobs are. To me, playing your job well is a combination of having all the basics down, and being able to improvise/perform well under pressure.

But I have a confession to make...

I will admit it. I... don't have Poisonga.

you gimp mo fo

poisonga and diaga seem to only have one good use, and that is against ninja mobs to take shadows off. few seconds and bam they all gone  . thats the only use i've found for them that is.

lol even in that case i dont use poisonga or diaga. What if you need to sleep the mob (or person via ballista)? No go due to that DoT... all in all i find thoes 2 spells basicly useless.........

Just toss a stonega to get rid of shadows, cast is decently quick and low MP cost.

that and training mobs for farming.

generally your already meleeing the mob and wouldn't need to sleep it, and dia 2 or bio 2 is already on it. diaga and poisenga are much faster diaga prefered about 1/2 second for a rdm to cast. if your going to stonega might as well not bother you could just let it get melee'd off. and i dont do balista so i wouldn't know about there

thats the worst way to farm, drop rates are poor when mass killed (unless you plan on meleeing them all to death after building train). also, you can pull a agro linking mob with simple dia instead of a aga spell.

all good points.

I like the titles that always imply "Everyone in this job sucks Why can't you all be better?" Has anyone ever considered that there seems to be massive influx of blms into the game lately? With that... a good proportion will be noobs especially if they're mad-levelling. Mad-levelling = Good chance they won't have everything.

You don't see threads about the monks/Dragoons/warriors do you? No, because the people that tend to speed level and not put any effort into their jobs at all would die of boredom through the painful waiting times these jobs have to experience for a party invite.

You see flames about the rdms, the whms, blms, the.. "Smns...you better be a damn good main healer", because parties are quicker to accept those jobs than the ones above. In case you want a better comparison for mnks/drgs/wars, it'd be thf/rng/drk would be invited more often... however, at 64.8, I like my any of the melee jobs to be honest.

And the players behind the noob blm would have the same damn attitude if they played whm, or a melee job. It isn't the damn job that causes these people to be lazy and retarded, it's the people controlling them.

Whms that can't heal properly or farmed for their spells. Rdms that melee and don't refresh. Drks that can't control their hate properly. Thieves that can't SATA onto the tank. Rngs that can't pull. Wars that don't have a nin sub. Plds who can't hold hate. Nins who only just cast blink and no other spells. Sams who don't know a s/c. I don't know what the hell people complain about Monks and dragoons because no one ever parties with them.

Oh wait... then its "Mnks and drgs should stop bitching about not getting invites. They should level another job. (but that probably won't let them escape the bitching)"

I'm sure if the animals could talk, they'd come and post here saying "omg, this stupid gimped bst-master tried to charm me and I wasn't doing anything so I joined him. But then he had no gear, and didn't reward me at all and didn't leave me in time so I died."

Ok, I kind of spun off on a tangent. In conclusions, it's the morons and bandwagoners that FUCK up a job's public popularity, not the job itself.

And to note. I did the Warp II quest at level 31 whm. Died 5 times but I still got it. It just depends how determined you are to get it. IE: How NOT lazy are you?

Oh, I was trying to say here....people can complain about anything about any job based on the few experiences they've had.

A week ago I did some job searchs in-game and found this (3800 +/- online):

180 blms - 80 rdms - 60 brds - 100+ whms. The rest were many many melee with 40 or so smns. About 50 of those blms were 70+. It may seem more are flocking to blm, but after a few searchs during the week and weekends, its not all that many when compared to other jobs or even how many are actually in pt's and not a bazaar - w/e.

Key word in the thread title, can. Im not saying all Blm's are bad, but when you get 2 terrible blm's within 20 mins of each other, it just makes you think. And having played the job gives one extra insight into how they should have been playing (assuming you knew how to play the job).

Oh give me a friggin' break. That's like saying don't bitch about whm's not have their teleports. A spell is a spell is a spell. You take on the mage job, then buy (quest/farm the gil) for your friggin' spells.

Took me a while to get back to this but what you just said is not true at all. In order to get to the camp it is often necessary to teleport in order to save varying amounts of usually long times. WHM's teleports help parties get set-up and in the camp. A BLM just warps their lazy ass back to their HP. Doesn't help the exp in anyway.

And so do Chocobo's. They can also get their lazy asses on Chocobo's. Still no excuse. You can quest the Warp II, whm's can quest the teleport's. There are 5 (FIVE) teleport scrolls that MUST be bought/quested to be a decent whm. There are only 2 (TWO) warp scrolls that MUST be bought/quested to be a decent blm. And the warp scroll is for only the mage who has it.

In closing, sorry not buying this load of crap. And that's what your above quote totally is, a load of crap.

Sorry, make that 6 (SIX) teleport scrolls. I always friggin' forget Yhoater and that one imho is the biggest bitch of them all.

One more thing, tell me how the hell a whm teleporting is helping in way, shape or form with xping? Stupid.

In theory it helps get the party TO the XP a bit easier. Personally, I think that's a copout. If you can't actually *XP* for 3 hours, don't seek. Yes, that means you might have to be up and looking for 3 hours, an hour of setup, and then 3 hours of party play before you can call it a day. And you might want to think that the hour or so you can get in before you have to go to sleep/work is worth it, and for you it might be. But unless you can replace yourself quickly and easily (ie, get your replacement and have him AT the party by the time you want to leave) there's a decent chance you're gonna be screwing over the other 5 people in your party.

ok... Wtf are you talking about. Getting to the camp fast is important. The faster your at camp set up. The faster you get xp. Try to think about the big picture. Is walking to camp fast from Jeuno if your going to Altepa... Or Tele? Think about it, I know it might hurt you but just try.

"One more thing, tell me how the hell a whm teleporting is helping in way, shape or form with xping? Stupid" <---- Kat

Um, where EXACTLY did I say it HELPED with xping... stupid.
All I said was that BLM WARPING didn't help xp. Read the post better before trying to make a decent come back.

Warp is not a must. I warp people as a favor and for a good party, not because I have to. If someone is a complete asshole to me I'm gonna say screw em and warp the others then myself. It is not my duty to get your ass back to Jeuno, want an easy ride back? Buy a scroll at the guards like I said before (or just be decent person). Hell, I don't even charge for D2 if someone random in the zone needs it.

Read what I wrote next time. I know it might hurt you, but just try.

And you fail at quoting.

It's a copout. Yes, it might take a good half-hour to get to camp as opposed to the 3 minutes it would take you with Teleport-Altep. So what? Things take time. You being lazy and not wanting to spend your own time/gil getting to camp isn't my problem. Warp II is a stupidly easy quest that any level 40 BLM can solo with his eyes closed. Not having it is a farce.

Firstly, I wasn't calling you stupid before, I was saying your comment was stupid. But now I am calling YOU an idiot.

As far as you D2ing, you're right you don't have to, but neither do I have to teleport your happy ass. Rent a chocobo. There are plenty of level 75's who will tell you that they xp'd pretty much all the way to 75 and didn't even use a whm, but a rdm. Therefore they never had the option of teleports and always choco'd to camp. There are a helluva lot of other places to xp besides having to be teleported to Altepa and using those camps.

As far as the xp comment goes, I said that because you said warp II does nothing for the xp. I was pointing out that neither does teleporting, tyvm.
