Blm's have one of the easiest jobs, how can they still suck?

I read what you wrote, I was responding to kat not you. You posted while I was typing >.>. Yes, i do fail at quoting. Oh no? Who gives a fuck...

Just so you know... I have every single BLM spell up to 65... So don't give me bs about not having it myself.

If thats what you were really saying you should learn how to type clearly.

Its true you don't have to tele my "happy-ass" anywhere. Although you're more likely to if you're in my party and we're trying to get to camp. Your not going to make the whole party walk just because you don't want to tele.

Also, anyone who hasn't partied with a whm all the way to 75 is BS. You're telling me, that from 1-75, they didn't have a WHM ONCE in their party? I find that extremely doubtful. RDM do a good job at the mid-higher levels... But I still get a WHM if I can and from what I've seen playing so does everyone else.

Another thing is that if you know you don't have a WHM to tele you will pick a camp that is closer by (if one is available). Or even ask your party members if they have a WHM with the spells. I've been in parties where we just got a stranger or friend to tele us as a favor.

However, this WHM crap still has nothing to do with the lack of d2 on BLM. BLM w/o D2 is not gimp, they will perform just aswell in your xp party. They will not cause a delay in the starting of the party, and they will perform just as well during. A whm without Teles will do just as well during the party, but if the camp is far off cause a long delay.

Okay, so you're level 50, and you dont have Warp II?

Quit the fucking job now, you god damn fucking gimp. I'm sick of fucking n00bs like you ruining my fucking job. BLM is cheap as hell pre-50, there's no excuse to gimp it.

Don't think that BLM is going to get easier, it gets much, much harder. I want to cry when I see how pathetic some of the new BLMs like you are.

There are plenty of level 75's who will tell you that they xp'd pretty much all the way to 75 and didn't even use a whm, but a rdm.

You really need to learn how to read better. Btw, Jazper is one person for that matter. He very rarely used a whm, and has always preferred rdm's. There are others also, but I don't feel I need to justify my comment further.

Well all I know is no one bitched at me for not having Thunder II till I was 75... ;)

On topic: It's kinda sad not having Warp II at 50. I know others have said it, but if you're too lazy to afford things like that, then you might as well quit now. Its not even hard to quest, I did the quest as a really low drk to make money, its really not that hard if you do the research.

I would like to refer to the title of this thread:

"Blm's have one of the easiest jobs, how can they still suck?"

Is it any wonder the bad players flock to it?

(This is not a flame of blm job itself, only a reference to the fact that crappy players choose the Path of Least Resistance. Uber blm are uber, you know who you are^^)

Theres only so many people registered to this forum compared to the number of people that actually play on the server.

Great contribution to the thread DM... You sure told them!

There is no excuse for not having any of the tele's. They're freaking moderately cheap and the quests for 4 of them are easy. And don't get me started on Warp II.. OMG that's an easy quest.

If you only have 3 hours to party and you're going to choco to Altepa, you just lost 20 mintues of XP. That means not having Tele-Altep just hurt your xp. It's not a difficult concept.

Of course, if you pay a 3rd party for the tele, then you only lost like 2 minutes, which isn't a big deal. I have a feeling most people are too cheap to bother doing this though.

I'm sorry for this... it's just something that's always annoyed the crap out of me....

What is everyone's big freakin hard-on with farming? I mean come on, I can make nearly 100k / hour as a level 30 *anything* ... without farming. Try something else if you can't farm. There ARE other options you know (not that I'm going to say what they are ... damn my greedy arse!!).

Seriously though, farming is not always the best way to make gil unless you're a THF, RNG, or very high level. The point is, after 30, you have options. Take the time to find out what they are and actually TRY them.

And stop assuming that because you tried something for 1 hour that you know wtf you're talking about... because you don't. It takes quite a few hours (or even days) to determine the average returns of a "method".

And yes, there are situations where farming at ~lvl 40+ can net some really nice results. Most people don't know about these areas though, or they're over camped, which hurts your returns, and then the prices are gouged to further kill your profit.

NM camping is decent too... if you pick the right ones. If there are 4-5 people all standing around for an NM spawn, go somewhere else if you can't beat the other campers on the claim. Standing around when you KNOW you won't get the claim is just ignorant. Go do something else.

K, I'm done ranting. Sorry for going off topic. ><

Now... buy your freakin scrolls noobs!

Well, I read this whole thread and I am going to agree with Nofriends and his explaination of crappy BLM's and I also agree with anyone who said that every job has crappy players.

In my opinion, there is no excuse to NOT have your scrolls when that certain level comes up. I have always had all my scrolls at the level I needed them(and I play ALL mage jobs), if I was too low to do them myself, I scheduled a time where some high levels could help me out. Gawd, I had Erase at 32 and people were shocked...pretty sad that they were so happy to have a WHM who had Erase that they came to the boards and posted a Thank You to me for having it.

All in all, if you don't have the proper equiptment/spells for that level...than stop leveling...go farm, synth or whatever else you do to get money and save up the money...It's really not a race 75...enjoy the game for everything that it has to offer.

Mages should have all of the spells that they can learn. There really shouldn't be any exception. Soloability of said scroll quest isn't an excuse. This isn't a solo game. Perhaps a solo level 40 blm couldn't solo the Warp II quest, but a level 40 blm with friends could get it easily. Picking and choosing what spells a mage should be required to have is a slippery slope to gimpiness. If you can't level your job with any pride, you shouldn't level it at all, I say. A mage w/o spells is a melee w/o weapons. It's the very foundation of the job, and shouldn't be neglected. There should be no exceptions. Since when did the "it's not very convenient/easy" excuse ever work in XI? If that excuse starts working, melees should sell their Haubies and Scorpion Harnesses. Come to party in level 1 jse and your onion weapon. If reasonable effort to not be an embarrassment to your job is too much, then so be it.

Okay... Pompidou is the God of BLM's... 'Nuff said there.

He's right about everything there. A Mage without a spell is like a Melee without a weapon. The only spell I was without for a while was Erase. I admit, I was kinda cocky and didn't think I'd need it. (One big reason was because I didn't know Slow/Haste affected spells, and thus Utsusemi.)
But that's aside the point. NOW I'm looking way ahead. I'm not even going to start so much as THINKING about leveling 'til I get Noble's Tunic (or if lucky, Aristocrat Coat). Now, I have every spell I need, enough equipment to keep me going good, and people trying to help me catch up..

Some spells aren't 100% needed, and CAN be put off a little bit. But spells like Raise, Cures, Elemental DD-spells, D2, etc, are totally inexcusable.
