If you mean "In conjuction" meaning having them equipped you are wrong. I have both of these spells equipped and all I have is Clear Mind and Max MP Up and that is only because of my Sub Job.
 
ive already tried a week ago to use them in conjunction. they DO NOT give you magic def.
not all the info online is correct.
the reason why it was listed as giving magic def is because the person that originaly posted that had whm sub
