Blu/Drk seems very possible

The issue was you directly contradicted yourself. First you said that there were no "proper subs" yet, then you said thf, nin and whm were the best. You really can't have it both ways.

Just stop man I am not here to argue with you. There is no 1 sub you NEED to have. But thf nin and whm are the better ones, far more often used then drk sub would be. Maybe that's what I should have posted earlier?

Well done, Osyris. 8)

i have not had any problems so far... course i am just now level 12....but still.

With whm, i could only level blu to 30 (i am not about to level whm anymore)

and with thf to only 40.

Sam and War i could get to 60.

I see your point... but so far i have yet to really see anything bad about drk.

Like many other people have said... Blu is still relativly new....

also with the way it seems blu is set up... you can pretty much adjust it to your liking....

Well blu for me was nin sub most early lvld spamming blugeon. Then thf sub some when I got mandibular bite. At 60 you prolly really want thf sub for death scissors.. Was getting 800-1400 dmg from saca death s. And once I got frentic rip nin sub kinda came back into play^^

One other thing to note about /thf, SA doesn't just increase you next spell's dmg, it also makes it an automatic hit. Tbh, so far, /thf seems to be the most mp efficient sub in the game for blu, its just difficult at times, like in a heavy melee party where hate changes too often.

Edit: Also, TA is a better alternative to shadows for dealing with hate, if you can get a party that can support it ( which is why im currently lvlng nin, for those that can't).

grrr.... i see all your points and they all sound good...

i just hate leveling sub jobs just to play the job i really wanna play...

call me lazy... but dang... Its hard to get parties with my level 18 thf....

And nin is freaking expensive....

I haven't been around much but to think BLU gets off easy with stunning mobs easily. Could BLU/DRK possibly be a good stun gun combo?

Blu/Drk would probably stun like a Nin/drk does. Not to mention most blu spells wont stun anything in end game

my only problem so far with blu/drk is links and aggro...

which from what i understand in playing since the PS2 launch.... has nothing to do with the sub job.

I have been enjoying Blu/Drk since about level 20. Granted, I stopped leveling BLU after hitting 31, but that's a different matter.

I have found BLU/DRK to be a very plausable combo. Sure, you may loose some of the usefulness of other subs, but they all have their pros and cons. BLU spells may not get anything from Att, but they sure as hell get the benefit from the additional STR. Throw on a couple of spells that give +STR, and go smash a few things. Only once was I asked to change my sub, and that was back in the Jungles, where I ended up tanking. (Galka, ftw!).

I believe BLU to be a very versatile job. I don't think there is any set subs for it yet. Sure, there are some that will be more useful in certain instances, but I feel there are many options for BLU, and hope it does not become yet another cookie cutter job...

There are other subs that "can" work for it, but so far, /WHM (main healing),
/WAR (Tanking and/or DOT/TP), /NIN ( DOT/TP and shadows ), and /THF ( insane spike dmg and effectiveness from spells) seem to be by far the best subs. (THF being my personal favorite)

The 'BLU subjob' debate is almost worthless, because how good a BLU is and how that is measured really does not change because of the subjob you choose. Can /WHM make an AWSOME healer once Magical Fruit is unlocked? Hell yeah. But, can a /WAR make the same AWSOME healer once Magical Fruit is unlocked? Almost, yeah! The way BLU is set up, its really not the subjob, but the equipment and the style of the player, and even more importantly, the party set up.

i agreee with blaine on this. my personal outlook on blu, now that im 68 is that blu can do any role you want. my favorite is thf sub. i like large amounts of dmg at one hit. the job was inteded as an all around job, as in you could do whatever you want with this job. it has the ability to heal, MB, do dmg, etc etc. i could easily make a thf look like a pld dmg wise in a pt as thf sub. i boosted my str up and with around 200tp, i can easily do 1200 dmg from DS. but if i boosted all of my int up, i could do decent dmg as a MBer. obviously, blu wont stick with blm in that department, but it has the ability to do that job. the blu job can play any role that a player wants to play, thats what the beauty of the job is.

100% agree with you on that point, it's why it is by far my favorite job. Tbh, if you want to sub drk, go ahead (not saying I have to give you permission, lol), you may find something most of us haven't found about the sub yet. Blu does give you alot of leeway(sp?) on what to do with it.
