Well, after a horrible experience with a PLD tank earlier today, we ended up killing him, which caused him to leave (he deserved it...).

Anyway, so while waiting for the other tank to come (he had to take the ship), and the WH mbeing 2k tnl, I said jokingly that I'd tank.

Well, either way. we decided to try it as we had nothing to do.

The result?

And 30 min later the WHM was 1 lvl happier.

I'll tell you now, that tanking as 66BLU/NIN is *NOT* easy, but it was DAMN fun... lol

Either way, thanks to everyone in the party XD was great fun, in a weird, massochistic way :crazy:
 
Anyone with /nin can tank, it's not exactly rocket science, but yeah, holding hate was probably something fierce to keep up.
 
Not really. Its kind of a chore for pld to hold hate off uzor with his dmg output. I was parsing much lower than him when not actively spamming, no idea how he kept his feeble mp pool up. I think it was some sort of secret swedish hax! :)

its not rocket science, but doing it with only :ichi and holding hate without provoke while still getting chain 4's and the WHM only using 50% of his MP pool tops is quite hard as BLU/NIN XD

Granted, I had a THF to help me, but still no first provoke :P

Was still very fun though 'cause of its absurdity. Very good people in the party ^^

Lol, that's 'cause we had a good tank in the end ^^ Surprised Aldarion (63 PLD btw) could keep hate as well as he did o.O;

For the record Astronia= she and good job Uzor with tanking with out having that lovely ability of provoke.
 
Yeah, any job "can" tank - I showed up for an XP once nin/rdm :p but with a thf for sata and cure 3 in a bind I had no problems making chain 4

Gotta say Blu is a hell of a job tho. great DD, Ive been sataed w death scissors for 800+ at 60, and they can main heal in a bind... just damn

While yes, other jobs can tank with /NIN, did your party get 4k exp an hour with you tanking?

Blu can also tank stronger HNMs with the right set up....gogo all purpose job D:
 
I heard BLU accuracy utterly sux on HNM, therefore no hate, therefore no tank.

not really...just need the gear...some blu tanked fafnir. mustve been able to get hate somehow :P

You're right Zyn. I love these things so much that I xp on them as BST sometimes. :smile:

Much easier to deal with at 72 than mid 60s.

And no I wasn't wearing a BQ ring -.- Dhalmels are just naturally acceptable to fire.
 
The information at the bottom is from a plugin for the windower called ExpWatch. You need the windower for the plugin to work, so unless you're on PC, you're out of luck. I"ve tried ExpWatch out, it's nice for displaying TNL and keeping track of how long you have to kill the name mob to continue the chain, but it doesn't work when you are going for limit points(yet, he's working on it) and the exp/hour part is bugged and will wildly jump around at times.
