Blue Mage

Or you could gimp your spell acc slightly (not completely) but boost your melee damage (and get some hMP into the bargain) with Rice Dumplings, which are only 5 acc but also 20% att (cap at 45), 3 STR, 2 hMP, and a few less interesting things.

In the jungles after all, you don't have your omgwtfbbqPOW spells that you have later on (Bludgeon's nice and all, but it's no Death Scissors etc.), so actually having your sword swings count for something - and heaven knows sword needs all the help it can get in that regard - *while still* boosting accuracy somewhat, is useful too.

Later on, yes, when you have enough base accuracy that sushi's percentage actually puts it meaningfully ahead of the alternatives, then I agree, BLU should eat sushi (specifically sole, for the STR mod for spells). But you haven't hit "later on" by the jungles. Sushi doesn't really start to shine until the 40's, and it doesn't *really* shine until even higher than that.

Because sushi is percentage based. Before lv30 you'd get more acc by eating a Jack-o-Lantern, which is a static +10. Sushi in the early levels gives less than +10.
WTC 4 stacks of Jack-o-Lanterns

Sushi for me is more of a habit than anything else. It might not be the best food for all levels and situations, but it stacks. And in low level parties, you never know if you're going to spend the next half hour lying face-down from a shitty whm.

... Man now I feel all dirty for defending it when I already know you're right.

i was actually told that Acc+ doesnt have effect on acc of blue spells and att+ doesnt either

confirmation?

From all I've read, which honestly isn't much, it seems to me like blu spells are modified more like WS's than spells. By that I mean, acc & atk make a difference to blu spells as much as they do to WS's.

Maybe a higher-lv blu can confirm. I'm only 10.

My understanding is that blue magic accuracy is based on weapon accuracy, but "attack" is not based on weapon attack, but instead on blue magic skill.

I could be wrong though.

Regardless, the skill needs its level 65 torque and level 35 earring.

Your blue magic acc and dmg is based off your weapons skill lvl. If you are trying to cast physical magic in a party using a dark staff, you are going to miss and/or do very little damage (unless you have high skill in staves lol). This is why most all blu's use swords, cause they have the highest skill cap.

And Khidir, once you have hysteric barrage, frenetic rip, and disseverment, /thf is completely useless. Thus me switching to /nin at about 71. And on top of that, mobs are jumping all over in those exp area's, you cant get a SA off for your life.

Something I learned by making a mistake in a PT, and asking someone friendly enough on QCDN to confirm, is that the modifiers of spells (i.e. Damaged/Accuracy/Duration of effect, and etc) are NOT active. The only time those modifiers turn on is when you use one of those spells with Chain Affinity, which will then base the spell off of TP, and use it up.

Note: Sorry if this was said earlier in the thread, but I think I read some confusion in the last couple pages

Actually, they are active. They just put in 0% TP into their equations instead of 100%. If they weren't active, Duration Effect TP spells wouldn't kick in their status effect ever without Chain Affinity.

2 Jack-o's lasts as long as a stack of NQ sushi...
But yeah, deaths are quite common :P
