Guide to Haunted Places near Youuuuuuuuuuuuu:

http://theshadowlands.net/places/

Happy Halloween <3

Not too far from where I live: Annandale - Annandale High School - Boys Restroom - Believed to be haunted by a student that committed Suicide. Reports of seeing the dead boy in a mirror in the bathroom.

*Does this remind anyone of the THREE MEN AND A BABY ghost boy? That shit used to give me nightmares <shiver>

hehehehe Hey Sabs . . . Sunday night

Silent Hill Style
Calgary - Symons playground - An abandoned school in the NE little ways out of the city. Late at night, sounds of children laughing are heard. Inside the school, there have been numerous reports of actual glimpses of the ghostly children playing. It has been said that 2 teens went in the school and were never found again

Still . . . wander enough Hospital Basement corridors and sub-basements and you hear creepy things
*edit mostly thanks to silent hill :x *

Fishers - There is a dip in Allisonville Road at 126TH street. It is called Heady Hollow. How the story goes, there was a schoolhouse the burned down with all of the children inside. Late at night when it is foggy you can see the children standing in the road. When you see them it is too late to stop. You drive right through them. When you get out of your car no one is there.

I drive right through here when going to the Kroger for groceries- hasn't been foggy yet though, heh.

My last job was haunted. I swear.

Not only did I see a white wolf in the back room one day (That actually frightened me, I mean, think of a big white wolf stepping out from behind a table and looking at you for a split second before disappearing), stuff was CONSTANTLY being whipped off the shelfs. Not just falling mind you, like being thrown forcefully off the shelf.

My apparentment is somewhat haunted too, it's nothing malicious though. But my friends who are REALLY sensitive to that kind of thing have agreed with me. There's a very untroublesome spirit that hangs out around the door of my bedroom. (My ex-roomies cat used to yowl at it). Once I had something sitting on top of the TV, and it WHIPPED itself from the TV, to my bed, and bounced to the floor (TV and bed are at least 8 feet away from each other, there was no way it could have fallen, and hit the bed).

But my MOM's house, is a whole different story...

There was SOMETHING malicious in that house. When I was younger, I slept with my door open, but every time I'd open my eyes, I'd get chills, and there would be a figure standing in my doorway looking at me. It wasn't my mom or step-dad, because I REPEATEDLY would ask them if they looked in on me at night, and they'd say they'd already been asleep. Evetually I had to start shutting the door at night, but when I would stay up late, I would have trouble walking through the house, because it felt like someone was watching me, and every time I'd go into a room, or around a corner, I'd get spooked because of that weird feeling. That's just at my mom's house mind you, my Dad's house, I had no problems there, and my new apartment I can wander around without any problems at night, feeling peaceful and calm, but there is something SERIOUSLY nasty in my moms house.

When Rioka and I moved into our new place recently we joked around that it was haunted because the little glass candle holders that used to occupy the top of our TV would fly off for no real reason . . .

Then again the basement is a little odd, what with the long walk-in closet (7' - 9') with the locked door at the end which we've lovingly dubbed the murder closet.

:D

Old houses are neat!

/comfort Yomi - I had a really really scary experience like that too - in my parent's old basement.

It happened like 10 years ago - but I am still completely scarred for life.

I almost think it would have been worse if it hadn't been EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. My room was more or less a safe zone, when the door was shut, the creepy feelings stopped. But throughout the rest of that house...

It doesn't help that our house was the ONLY one on the street when we moved in, and already 10-15 years old by then...

I hated myself for years for having nightmares about that boy...

That shit was scary as hell though. I still feel like an idiot for getting nightmares from a Disney flick.

For me it was more of a gradual thing...

My mom had, just had my little sister - so the room situation in the house was slim. I decided - as the oldest sibling, that I would move into the basement...which promised for more privacy, something every teen desires - right?

ANYWAY first it was just little things that were easily blown off. Like for some reason the light and the television wouldn't work for me. Everyone else could turn them on fine - but when it was me, I would flip the switch - or turn the knob...and I would get flickering lights (that would eventually turn themselves off) or just static on the tv. It was annoying, but I wasn't freaking out about it.

One night I got home late...and it was storming outside. Storms didn't bother me, I had always loved them. <3 So I got into bed and lied there awake, listening to the rain and thinking about the night's events. Then, the lightning cracked - must have been close, because it lit up the whole room. That was when I noticed a figure standing infront of the glass double doors (which I had locked earlier that evening). I was shocked for a sec, then figured that I must be half asleep or something - so I rolled over to face the wall and tried to go to sleep (hoping that it would go away). A few seconds later I felt something sit beside me on the bed. The sheets got tight, and I began to start to freak a bit. I tried to ignore it, then thought that I was being silly...and slowly rolled again. There was no one sitting beside me - but there was an imprint on the bed - a spot where the blanket was weighed down - a spot that I was not touching. I looked up and saw what seemed to be a figure darting across the room.

This is when I panicked. I got up and ran over to the light switch - which wouldn't even flicker for me at this point - it just didn't turn on. I didn't want to run up the stairs, because that was where I thought I saw the figure go, so I ran into the laundry rom and tried to find the pull string to the light in there (I had never had problems with that light) I searched for hat seemed like an eternity - which was odd, since this was the light that worked for me - I knew EXACTLY where it was inthe dark - but couldn't find it. I heard a noise and ran back out, about to dart up the steps...and instinctively flipped the light switch for one last try. It turned on. For the first time in 3 monthes, the damned light switch (which 5 minutes prior would not work for me) turned on.

My heart was pounding, I noticed that there was nothing on the steps, so I turned around to look and see where the hell the pull string to the light in the laundry room was - I looked in there, and it was out of my reach - and (I shit you NOT) tied into the shape of a freaking NOOSE>

I ran upstairs and slept on my sister's floor.

The next morning, my parents (who thought I was nuts) went downstairs with me to find a puddle infont of the (still locked) glass doors - and wet spots on the surrounding carpet.

They still think I am crazy - and that wasn;t the only creepy thing to ever have happened to me...but that was the only time I thought I was having a heart attack.

My parents bout a piece of property for their last house, and we all lived there for about 16 years.
The land showed signs of a pretty large fire, based on numerous burned trees on the property. I don't know if this is what set the stage for the experiences to follow...

I only had a few experiences in those 16 years, but I KNOW they were conclusive enough that something was going on there. Some sort of spiritual things were going on. I wouldn't say it was exactly a friendly thing either...But my parents were gone for 9 months out of the year so I lived there alone. I basically forced myself to confront it and live with it.
I had to live there so I wasn't about to be moved out. I have had others experience the same things, and without telling them about it. Only then, did I come out with it and confirm that I had noticed the same things.

But like I said only a few times did anything big happen. Mostly, it was the type of stuff that I could dismiss as me just freaking myself out...But those few times, things that were undeniable happened.
I don't really feel like getting into detail at the moment, but it's more typical "ghost story" type stuff.

Yikes.

For some reason at my house, at any given time, when I am the only one there, I hear footsteps. Sometimes one person, and others a whole mess of people. And then I hear muffled voices at times. It's kinda weird because you'd think that it was the neighbors or something, but there was one time, when I heard these sounds and check the neighbors and sure enough they were there talking, but that wasn't the original sound that I heard. Creepy huh. I then proceed to go grab a snack or drink and say to myself, "I am just hearing things".

It just adds to the evidence that Disney is teh evil. That's right, TEH. Funny how these things spread though, I remember hearing about it in Chile when this came out.

I'm a hardass skeptic myself though--James Randi's got nothing on me.

Edited to add: that doesn't mean I think you guys are making these up--just that I feel compelled to find some explanation for them other than ghosts, etc. *goes back hiding in her skeptocave*
