Brett Farve

I hope the prospect of not being a starter (and breaking his record of consecutive starts) will be enough of a incentive for him to stay in retirement.

lol he sucked balls because he was team was very young and still maturing then.

Look guys, Favre is my favorite NFL player. Hell I live in Hattiesburg, MS and attend Southern Miss. I do wish he would stay retired BUT how can you guys criticize a man that has played this sport his whole life? It's all he knows, and while 37 is old for the NFL, he's still a young man in the work force. Most guys retire at 65, that would leave him 28 years difference between the average working man. This happens ALL the time. He isnt broken like Mcnair. He's still an above average talent QB. If he wants to come back so what?

Yeah yeah every year the question raises is he gonna retire or not. Just don't let it bother you, how hard is that? He's a superstar athlete, and 90% of them act this way toward the end of there career. They just can't let go something they love so much. I'm pretty damn sure you would have the same problem as well.

"For the ring and not the love of the game" LOL man come on? It's all ways for the ring, and that proves that it's for the love of the game. Players jumping ship for bigger contracts to teams that don't have a shot at winning a superbowl for years, now thats love of money, not the game.

The point is if you are going to retire do it, if you aren't don't say you are to get all the media to ride your cock for months until you decide you are coming back.

Good quarterbacks can still be good with a shitty team. That season, Favre played like shit too.

And too young to retire compared to the normal workforce? Are you kidding me? He doesn't need to work a day in his life from now on if he isn't stupid with money. Even if he is stupid with money, I am pretty sure he is going to be just fine.

Ugh.

I'm tired of hearing about this shit. Why are we still talking about this selfish dickhead? If he wants to play, come back up a sure fire flop. If he doesn't, he cant sit in Mississippi and make gay blue jean commercials.

Can we please move on? Please SportsCenter no mas. Stop creaming. Please. Just. Say. No.

I didnt mean he needed to work more for money, i meant most guys have it in there blood to work into there 60's. NFL players can't let go because they retire at young ages compared to everyone else.

I agree that when they retire they should stay retired, but most superstar athletes do this. How is this a shocker? Why is the nation getting so mad at Favre when people like MJ and most superstars do this? It's part of the game, people should just chill out.

Exactly my opinion.

Brett Favre is the green bay packers. If they didn't want me back, I would retire. His legacy is in green bay, he should retire in green bay.

For example, Jerry Rice's legacy was for San francisco, when he came back for Oakland, and later I think Seattle? It wasn't the same and a lot of people lost respect for him. I really don't know why he's doing this.
agree think it's messed up if he come back but says he don't want play for green bay.

Green Bay has told him now that he can come back, but he will be the back up QB. Which is fucked up on their part. Brett Favre is just upset that his team has had 2 chances to get Randy Moss and passed up on him. I can understand what you guys are saying about his legacy and stuff, but you also got to understand the reason why he is upset. I just hope that if he does comeback this year. We don't have hear his retirement shit again next year. It getting tiring. Every off season we are talking about is Brett Favre will comeback or not...

If Favre comes back and plays for another team I'm gonna be really pissed >< I've been a Packer fan my entire life and Favre is the first QB I actually even remember, so he's pretty much been there my entire life. I'd love for him to come back, but to Green Bay. If he goes anywhere else he's a damn traitor. I really don't think that will happen though.

Yeah. This is kinda the same thing like if Steven Yzerman came back for one more year as a NY Ranger.

... Those are some fighting words. Yzerman is far from a loser, anyone who can be a Captain of his team for more than 15 years I would say is as much a legend in his own right and sport. Favre may be good and all but they are different sports, neither would be able to do what the other can do in each others sport.

Think Favre is a God, think that. But dont trample on someone else, Yzerman who is just as God like to many other fans world wide.

hmmm idk hold a retirement press conference and cry like a baby, then come back?

Hey it's football, what can you do? I'm wondering who it will be after Brett finally retires that will put us through this whole mess again. :P

Favre: "I want to play again"

Green Bay: "Well Favre, we wanted an answer in March, we've now moved on"

Favre: "I know i shouldnt have retired and i have the "itch" if thats what you call it, if I can't play for you, release me"

Green Bay: "Well Favre, we've moved on and playing here is not an option, but we can't see you playing for anybody else either"

Im sorry but thats fucked up on Green Bay's behalf. Yes it was wrong of Favre to retire, and he admitted it. But Greenbay is holding him Hostage pretty much. They say come back as a backup. I'm sorry but you don't pay a backup 12 million dollars a year lmao. If favre went to training camp, they would be forced to play him pretty much.

I would either have to go w/ TO, Chad Johnson, or Randy Moss.

It shouldn't be too surprising. Same thing happened to Barry Sanders, his agent called one day asked how he was and was responded with "I am tired" The next day his agent announced he was retiring. Barry later cleared the miscommunication up but also stated he wanted to be released from his current contract with Detroit. They refused, of course who wants to get rid of someone like him and pretty much held him captive to play with them if he came back to play at all. In the end he stayed retired rather than wait out his 3 year contract to play somewhere else.

It may be what Favre ends up doing as well instead of waiting out his contract obligations with Green Bay. All in all though the only ones really being hurt by all of this is the remaining team trying to focus on a winning year and hearing nothing in the media but Brett this and Brett that instead of focusing on working together as a team without Favre.

Or they could end this nonsense by releasing him. I mean it's his choice to play or not. Also If Favre was smart, he would show up to Greenbay Training camp. That would get Greenbay to make a move.
